Allie Dale
Allie Bessie Dale, 83, of Alma died Wednesday, April 18, 2001, at a local hospital. She was the widow of Bud Dale, a homemaker, and of the Pentecostal faith.
Funeral service was held April 21 at Ocker Chapel of Alma. Burial was at Dyer Cemetery under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home.
Survivors include three daughters, Connie Sampley of Alma, Joyce Criswell of Muldrow and Sharon K. Price of Burleson, Tx.; four sons, Charles Dale, Doyal Dale, Ronnie Dale, all of Alma, and Darrell Dale of Azle, Tx.; three sisters, Ruby Henson, Velta Crowder and Lois Travis, all of Van Buren; 24 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Doyal Dale Jr., Darrin Sampley, Ronnie Dale, Darrell Wayne Dale, Roger Dale and Ronnie Price Jr.

Tom Summerhill
Tom Summerhill, 92, of Van Buren died Thursday, April 19, 2001, at a local hospital. He was a retired minister, retired landscaper, member of the Holiness Church and widower of Mina Shaw Summerhill.
Survivors include two daughters, Reba Ball of Alma and Mildred Markanen of Battle Ground, Wash.; five sons, Paul Summerhill and Earl Summerhill, both of Van Buren, Lawrence Summerhill of Ridgefield, Wash., William Summerhill of Puyallup, Wash., and Dallas Summerhill of Van Couver, Wash.; 20 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral service was held April 24 at Ocker Memorial Chapel in Van Buren. Burial was at Wood Cemetery under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were his grandsons, Paul Summerhill, Brian Summerhill, Stanley Ball, Randy Boyd, Wallace Russell and Frank Newman.

Stella Wakefield
Stella Brody Wakefield, 86, of Van Buren died Saturday, April 21, 2001, at a local hospital. She was a homemaker and a member of the Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Frances L. Ray of Lavaca; five sons, Lloyd Brody of Wichita, Kan., Bob Brody of Mountainburg and Ralph Brody, Lee Brody and Harold Brody, all of Fort Smith; 19 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral service was held April 25 at Ocker Memorial Chapel. Burial was at Gill Cemetery under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home in Van Buren.
Pallbearers were Brian Brody, Ralph Brody Jr., Jeff Ray, Greg Ray, Brad Ray and Robert Wooten.

Fred Sullivan Jr.
Fred A. "Fast Freddy" Sullivan Jr., 53, of Van Buren died Saturday, April 21, 2001, at a local hospital. He was an artist, self-employed sign designer and a pin striper.
Survivors include his wife, Janice Sullivan; one daughter, Karen Harshbarger of Van Buren; two sons, Steven Sullivan and Michael Sullivan, both of Van Buren; his parents, Fred A. Sullivan Sr. and Mary G. Sullivan of New Blaine; two brothers, Alan Sullivan and Barry Sullivan, both of Van Buren; and two grandchildren, Tyler Harshbarger and Andrew Harshbarger both of Van Buren.
Funeral service was held April 24 at Ocker Memorial Chapel in Van Buren. Burial was held at Gracelawn Cemetery under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Greg Cochran, Jerry White, Joe Berry, Chester McGrew, Frank Merryman and Larry Breeden. Honorary pallbearers were Chuck Jennen, Danny Jennen, Gene Jennen, Tom Terry, Jimmy Green, Merlin Yeager, Dale Johns, Denny Johns, Ed Johns and Pete Breeden.
Memorial contributions may be made to The American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 5438, Ft. Smith, Ark. 72913.
