Biographical And Historical Memoirs of Pulaski, Jefferson, Lonoke, Faulkner, Grant, Saline, Perry, Garland And Hot Spring Counties, Arkansas

John Burrow
John Burrow, 84, of Fort Smith died Sunday, April 15, 2001, at a local nursing home.
He was a retired upholsterer and member of First Freewill Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret; three daughters, Edwina Whitson, Eda Stamps and Sheila Hampton, all of Fort Smith; two sons, J.C. Burrow of Van Buren and Jerry Burrow of Fort Smith; one brother, Ruben Burrow of Branson, Mo.; 14 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Funeral service was held April 18 at Ocker Memorial Chapel in Van Buren.
Burial was at Gracelawn Cemetery under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Randy, Rodney and Ronnie Stamps, Greg Boley, Monte Whitson and Donald Hunter.

Dennis Cecil
Dennis Leon Cecil, 30, of Fort Smith died Sunday, April 15, 2001, at his home.
Survivors include his mother, Mary Moore of Fort Smith; father, Glendell Cecil of Van Buren; two sisters, Doris Ann Cecil and Linda Faye Cecil, both of Van Buren; six brothers, Daniel Earl Cecil, Joe Cecil, Raymond Cecil Jr. and David Wayne Cecil, all of Fort Smith, and Robert Cecil and Donnie Cecil, both of Van Buren; grandmother, Louise Maxwell of Fort Smith; six aunts, two uncles and seven cousins.
A memorial service was held April 18 at Ocker Memorial Chapel in Van Buren.
The body will be cremated under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home.

Miriam Denton
Miriam Denton, 85, of Fort Smith died Sunday, April 15, 2001, at her home.
She was a homemaker and member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, Joy Group and Builders Sunday School Class.
Survivors include one daughter, Laura Crowder of Van Buren; one son, James Alfred Denton of Fort Smith; one brother, Harry Bernard of Crystal Bay, Nev.; six grandchildren, Rick and Gary Crowder, Darla Bray, Tom and Rodney Denton and Edna Mull; and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral service was held April 18 at Lewis Funeral Chapel with burial at Roselawn Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Rodney and Tom Denton, Barry Mull, Rick Crowder, David Bray and the Rev. Cliff Ahart.
Honorary pallbearers will be member of Builders Sunday School Class.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul United Methodist Church, 4100 Grand Ave., Fort Smith, Ark., 72904.

Garrett Haney
Garrett Roy Haney, infant son of Sarah and Harold Haney IIII of Van Buren, died Saturday, April 14, 2001, at his home.
Other survivors include maternal grandparents, Kenneth and Barbara Husley of Fort Smith; paternal grandparents, Rita and Ray Dillard of Hackett and Harold Haney Jr. of Uniontown; maternal great-grandparents, Lee and Charlotte Walker of Normangee, Texas, Don Jensen of Bryan, Texas, and Albert Hulsey of Edmond, Okla.; paternal great-grandparents, Harold and Linda Haney of Uniontown; and paternal great-great-grandmother, Roxie Sharp of Spiro.
Funeral service was held April 17 at Ocker Memorial Chapel.
Burial was at Gracelawn Cemetery under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren.
