Jason Williams
Jason Dale Williams, 28, of Alma died Tuesday, April 10, 2001, at a local hospital. He was employed by Kenworth Freightline, Kentucky Fried Chicken and Van Buren Pipe and was a member of Fort Smith Dart Club.
Survivors include his companion, Brandi Bowman; two daughters, Linsey Michelle of Purcell, Okla., and Cassandra Dawn of Gore, Okla.; one son, Zachary Quentin of Gore; mother and stepfather, Donna and Jesse Shepherd of Alma; father, Sammy Williams of Greenwood; three brothers, Roy Williams of Bonanza, Charlie Shepherd of Alma and Russell Shepherd of Pascagoula, Miss.; and paternal grandfather, Leo Williams.
Funeral service was held April 14 at Edwards Van-Alma Chapel. Burial was at Gracelawn Cemetery under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Mark and Phillip Williams, Sam and Scott Miller, Joe Little, James Young and Larry Dean.
Edward Brewer
The Rev. Edward Franklin Brewer, 76, of Kodak, Tenn., died Sunday, March 25, 2001. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and a member of Beech Springs Baptist Church in Kodak.
Survivors include his wife, Florris Willeford Brewer; two sons, Logan Brewer and Lawrence Brewer, both of Illinois; three daughters, Loretta Slavik and Laura Borvan, both of Illinois, and Linda Brewer of Kodak; two sisters, Jane Morse and Wanda Peterman, both of Alma; and five grandchildren.
Funeral service was held March 27 at Beech Springs Baptist Church in Kodak. Burial was at Smokey Mountain Memory Garden.
Memorial contributions may be made to Gideons International.
Bessie Kincy
Bessie Nora Kincy, 96, of Dyer died Saturday, April 7, 2001, at a local nursing home. She was retired from Alma Canning Co., member of New Bethel Assembly of God Church in Dyer and widow of Ellis Kincy.
Survivors include three daughters, Loretta Faulkner and Geneva Brannam, both of Fort Smith, and Elsie Gifford of Alma; two sons, Truman Kincy of Arvin, Calif., and Tom F. Kincy of Dyer; one sister, Clara Stanfield of Saratoga, Calif.; 21 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren and 19 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral service was held April 10 at Ocker Memorial Chapel in Alma. Burial was at Dyer City Cemetery under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home.
Edward Lewis
Edward Eugene "Pluto" Lewis, 61, of Van Buren died Sunday, April 8, 2001, in Little Rock. He was a member of the Booneville National Guard unit for 22 years.
Survivors include one son, Jason Edward Lewis of Van Buren; one sister, Debra Lewis Brown of Fort Smith; and one brother, James Larry Lewis of Dora.
Graveside service was held April 11 at Ephraim Davis Cemetery in Booneville under the direction of Roberts Funeral Home of Booneville.
Pallbearers were James Roberts, Paul Jenkins, Earl Greene, Mark Morgan, Freddy Pearson and Chuck Lawless.
Ronald Lynch
Ronald "Willie" Lynch, 53, of Van Buren died Monday, April 9, 2001, at a local hospital. He was a line supervisor at Tyson Foods and a member of Victory Temple Pentecostal Church of God.
Survivors include his wife, Helen D. Lynch; six daughters, Debra Reynolds and Joe Ana Turner, both of Van Buren, Shelly Wilkins, Crystal Griffith and Lilly Skelton, all of Fort Smith, and Mary Ann Ruppel of Kansas City, Kan.; three sons, Ronald W. Lynch Jr. of Cedarville and Troy E. Lynch and Audie Ray Chapion, both of Van Buren; 21 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Graveside service was held April 11 at Gill Cemetery under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Jim Gregory, Steve Smalling, Sammie Gibson, Curtis Becher, David Brunett, Elbert Gibson, Allan Sheppard and Mike Burton.
