Joyce Gossett
Joyce "Red" Gossett, 58, of Greenwood died Saturday, Oct. 14, 2000, at a Fort Smith hospital. She was employed by Moll Plastics of Fort Smith and a member of Faith Christian Center in Alma.
Survivors include her husband, Ronald Niles; 10 daughters, Lynne Coleman of Marion, Judy Hart, Julie Jones and Kimberly Boggs, all of Greenwood, Laura Wald and Valarie Welch, both of Van Buren, Michelle Boggs of Lavaca, Christie Dawn Niles of Pocola, Trish Conley of Booneville and Janice Boggs of Milltown; seven sons, Wayne Boggs and Ronald C. Niles II, both of Booneville, Bruce Boggs of Greenwood, John Boggs of Milltown, Marcus Niles of Paris, Calif., Christian Niles of Tulsa and Joshua Niles of the home; paternal grandmother, Aileene Boggs of Dover; one sister, Bobbie Nell Russ of Booneville; one brother, the Rev. Manuel Mann of Booneville; 52 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral service was held Oct. 17 at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood.
Pallbearers were Roger Kuykendall, Matthew Berry, Joseph Wald, Johnathan Wald, Marcus Scott Niles and Joshua Caleb Niles.
Elmer LaRue
Elmer LaRue, 83, of Mountainburg died Saturday, Oct. 14, 2000, at a local nursing home. He was a retired factor employee of Nolen Mill Co. and member of Gregory Chapel Church of Christ.
Survivors include one sister, Grace Todd of Stillwater, Okla.; and several nieces and nephews including Carl LaRue and Hope LaRue, both of Mountainburg.
Graveside service was held Oct. 16 at Morrison Cemetery under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren.
Anna Mae Lloyd
Anna Mae Lloyd, 67, of Kibler died Saturday, Oct. 14, 2000, at a local hospital. She was a homemaker, attended Van Buren Freewill Baptist Church, had worked as a filler at Allen Canning Co. and was the widow of William T. Lloyd.
Survivors include three daughters, Helen Ann Yakley of Kibler, Gail Ward of the Dean Springs community and Judy Scantlin of Dyer; three sons, Ricky Lloyd of Alma, Stephen Lloyd of Kibler and James Lloyd of Searcy; her mother, Reba Dehart of Van Buren; four brothers, J.C. Dehart and Paul Dehart, both of Van Buren, Larry Dehart of Rudy and Bobby Dehart of Mustang, Okla.; 16 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral service was held Oct. 17 at Edwards Van-Alma Chapel. Burial was at Gill Cemetery under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Dickey, Ronnie and Donnie Dehart, Jackie Wallace and David, Joe, Bobby and Randy Dehart. Honorary pallbearers were her grandsons.
Amber Snead
Amber Ellen Ewing Snead, 101, of North Kansas City, Mo., died Friday, Oct. 6, 2000. She was a native of Uniontown, member of First Christian Church where she was president of the Mission Society and sang in the choir and widow of William "Steamboat" Snead.
Survivors include two nieces, Treva Ragland Potter of Topeka, Kan., and Peggy Ragland Blackwell of Holiday Island, Ark., and several great-nieces and nephews.
Funeral service was held Oct. 9 at D.W. Newcomer's Sons White Chapel Funeral Home. Burial was at Memorial Park Cemetery in Kansas City.
Leo Teague
Leo Charles Teague, 74, of Mountainburg died Monday, Oct. 15, 2000, at a local hospital. He was a member of Pigeon Creek Freewill Baptist Church, Army veteran of World War II and groundskeeper and caretaker at Conley Cemetery.
Survivors include his mother, Mamie Teague of the home; one brothers, George Teague of Mountainburg; four nieces, Janice Truelove, Dorothy Bull, Lou Willroth and Phyllis Reeves, all of Mountainburg; two nephews, Leonard Teague and Dale Reed, both of Mountainburg; and several great-nieces and nephews.
Funeral service was held Oct. 18 at Pigeon Creek Freewill Baptist Church in Mountainburg. Burial was at Conley Cemetery in Mountainburg under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Alma.
