Reba Burt
Reba Miller Burt, 63, of Mulberry died August 2, 2001. She was a homemaker, master gardener and member of the Art Council in Van Buren.
Survivors include her husband Ted; two daughters, Karen Lavonne Hudson of Ozark and Janice Doss of Piedmont, Okla.; one son, Teddy Burt Jr. of Ozark; her father, Wilson Miller of Hackett; one sister, Hilda Sue Mars of Fort Smith; three brothers, Leon Miller and Robert Miller both of Hackett and Billy H. Miller of Pleasanton, Kan.; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral service was held Aug. 4 at Fentress Mortuary Chapel. Burial was at Mt. View Cemetery in Hackett under the direction of Fentress Mortuary of Fort Smith.
Pallbearers were Glenn Warren, Ralph Spencer, Terry Massengale, Billy Miller, Ron Miller and Kevin Amer.
Kyleigh Danyiel Burgdahl
Kyleigh Danyiel Burgdahl of Fort Smith, infant daughter of Misty and Nolan Burgdahl, died Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2001, at a local hospital.
Other survivors include her grandparents, Tammy Badeaux of Lavaca and Harry Daffron of Midland; great-grandmother, Winona Cunningham of Barling, great-great-grandmother, Delmar Cunningham of Mansfield; one uncle, Matthew Holmes of Lavaca; one aunt, Samantha Gulley of Barling.
Graveside service was held Aug. 6 at Oak Cemetery under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren.
Mary Kathleen Kester
Mary Kathleen Kester, 82, of Fort Smith died Saturday, Aug. 4, 2001. She was a retired chef and a member of Central Assembly of God Church in Fort Smith.
Survivors include husband, Charles N. Kester; one daughter, Chareleen Montgomery of Fort Smith; two grandchildren, Teresa McCarley of Greenwood and Pam Ashby of Alma; six great-grandchildren.
Funeral service was held Aug. 6 at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was at Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
Pallbearers were Tony Williams, Josh McElyea, Ray Melton, Curtis Williams, Wayne Ashby Jr. and Alex Blevins.
Lucille McNatt
Lucille McNatt, 84, of Van Buren died Saturday, Aug. 4, 2001, at a local nursing home. She was a homemaker and was preceded in death by her husband, Alvis McNatt.
Survivors include two sons, Allen McNatt of Greenbrier and Delmer “Red” McNatt of Van Buren; two sisters, Hazel Thigpen of Arkoma and Elizabeth Maier of Fort Smith; six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral service was held Aug. 7 at Woodlawn Cemetery Chapel. Burial was at Woodlawn Cemetery under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren.
Mamie Inez Smith
Mrs. Mamie Inez Smith, age 91, entered into rest Sunday, Aug. 5, 2001, in Fort Smith. She was born in Van Buren to Lynn and Molly Lovegrove on March 21, 1910. She was a lifetime resident of Crawford County and a member of the Concord Baptist Church.
She was preceded death, by her husband and, best friend of 65 years, Raymond Willie Smith, and two sons, Cleo and Eddie Smith. She is survived by six daughters, Elizabeth Arnold of Alma, Barbara Patton of Springdale, Wanda Meadors of Mulberry, Edith Harvey of Fayetteville, Brenda Reed and Shirlene Carter, both of Alma; three sons, Clyde, Jimmy, and Dean Smith, all of Alma; a sister, Lucille Green of Alma; a sister-in-law, Trudy Smith, of Van Buren; 26 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral service was held Wednesday, Aug. 8, at 1O a.m. at Concord Baptist Church. Interment followed at Alma Cemetery.
Pallbearers were her grandsons, Terry Smith, Tim Patton, Todd Patton, Michael Harvey, Chris Harvey, Ronald Reed, Scott Reed, Randy Arnold, Shannon Meadors, and Jamie Smith.
Honorary pallbearers were the deacons at Concord Baptist Church.
Arrangements are by Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren.
