Dora Jetton
Dora Jetton, 79, of Bowling Green, Ky., formerly of Van Buren, died Saturday, Jan. 27, 2001, in Bowling Green. She attended Shibley Baptist Church in Van Buren and was the widow of Otho B. "Amos" Jetton.
Survivors include one daughter, Dorothy Jean Curry of Bowling Green; two stepsons, Charles Jetton of Phoenix, Ariz., and Otho Jetton Jr. of Florrisant, Mo.; one sister, Lillian Voss of Las Vegas, Nev.; one brother, George Mutert of Fallon, Mo.; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral service was held Feb. 1 at Edwards Van-Alma Chapel. Burial was at U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home.
Rosemary Taber
Rosemary Murphy Taber, 79, of Fort Smith, formerly of Russellville, died Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2001, in Fort Smith. She was Catholic.
Rosary was held Feb. 2 in Edwards Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Smith. Mass was Feb. 3 in St. Boniface Catholic Church with burial at Rest Haven Memorial Park in Russellville.
She is survived by four daughters, Pat Morgan of Atlanta, Kathy Humiston and Susan Starr, both of Fort Smith, and May Scovic of Portage, Mich.; eight sons, Clint of Edwardsville, Ill., Steve of Kemore, Wash., Mike of Hot Springs, David of Houston, Tom of Augusta, Ga., Peter of Fayetteville, Rick of Van Buren and Robert of Kansas City, Mo.; four sisters, Sally Boniecki of Chicago, Virginia Brewster of Falls Church, Va., Pat Tighe of Palo Alto, Calif., and Eileen Oliver of San Mateo, Calif.; two brothers, Richard Murphy of La Habra, Cal. And chuck Murphy of Sterling, Ill.; 29 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers weres Jeff and Adam Humiston, David and Clint Taber III, Shaun Easton and Nick Westphal. Honorary pallbearers will be her grandchildren.
Betty Daugherty
Betty Daugherty, 71, of Van Buren died Friday, Jan. 19, 2001, at a local hospital. She was a homemaker and member of First Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include her husband, Ewing Daugherty; one son, Larry Daugherty of Van Buren; and one brother, Arnold Tudor of Van Buren.
Graveside service was held Jan. 22 at Gill Cemetery under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren.
Pallbearers were Kenneth Sagley, Don Hardcastle, Dale Moore, Ted Myers, Carl Daugherty, Bill Freeman and Garland Hudson.
Memorial contributions may be made to Gideon Memorial Bible International, P.O. Box 1751, Van Buren, Ark., 72957.
Bobby Myers
Bobby Leo Myers, 64, of Van Buren died Saturday, Jan. 20, 2001, at his home. He was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War, attended Albert Pike Christian Church and retired driver for Ryder Trucking.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Ann Myers; one daughter, Stefanie Gifford of Hutchinson, Kan.; one stepdaughter, Trudy Nay of Martinville, Ind.; and six grandchildren.
Graveside service was held Jan. 24 at U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren.
Howard Jones
Howard E. "Dick" Jones, 71, of Alma died Monday, Jan. 22, 2001, at a local hospital. He was a member of Rena Road Church of Christ in Van Buren and retired truck driver for OK Feed Mills in Fort Smith.
Survivors include his wife, Marilyn; one daughter, Heath Jones of the home; one son, James Jones of Van Buren; two sisters, Mauliene Gilmore of Joplin, Mo., and Murldean Fritch of Windsor, Colo.; two brothers, James E. "Bud" Jones of Casper, Wyo., and Robert W. "Bob" Jones of Leonard, Texas; and two grandchildren, Morgan Jacobs and Shelby Lynn Jones, both of Van Buren.
Graveside service was held Jan. 24 at Alma Cemetery under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home.
