Sherry English
Sherry E. English, 54, of Mulberry died Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2000, at a Fort Smith hospital. She was a support manager for Wal-Mart for 19 years and a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles.
Survivors include her husband, Gaylen English; one daughter, Eva LaDonna Aruchuletta of Van Buren; one son, Calvin Ray English of Fort Smith; her mother, Joy Vinyard of Oceanside, Calif.; two sisters, Valerie Barnhart of Las Vegas and Tracie Johnson of Oceanside; five brothers, Bill, Mike, Mark and Daniel Vinyard, all of Oceanside, and Scottie Vinyard of Las Vegas; and two grandchildren, Kathryn and Matthew Aruchuletta.
Funeral service was held Dec. 22 at Shaffer Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was at Highland Cemetery.
Pallbearers were members of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Fort Smith 208.
Floyd Harrison
Floyd Harrison, 90, of Pocola died Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2000, at a hospital. He was a member of Hackett Methodist Church and an Air Force veteran of World War II who retired as a master sergeant after 30 years of military service. He was a 32nd degree Mason, Eastern Star worthy patron and member of Scottish Rites. He retired to his home in Pocola in 1968 and raised cattle until the 1980s. He retired from civil service in the 1970s.
Survivors include his wife, Marjorie; two daughters, Eloise Rogers Williams of Pocola and Erlene Keller Shaddy of Van Buren; five grandchildren, Jim Childress of Waynesville, Ohio, Jeff Childress of Norman, Okla., Michael Keller and Tracie Rogers Reichard, both of Van Buren, and Stuart Keller of Fort Smith; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Graveside service will full military honors was held Dec. 26 at U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were a military honor guard. Honorary pallbearers were grandsons.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis.
Kathryn Hebard
Kathryn Hebard, 82, of Van Buren died Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2000, at her home. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Van Buren, retired registered nurse and widow of Robert Hebard Jr.
Survivors include three sons, John Robert Hebard of Russellville, Richard Lee Hebard of Figure Five and Roy Gene Hebard of Van Buren; two sisters, Sarah Bates and Eletha Zuber, both of Van Buren; and four grandchildren.
Funeral service was held Dec. 22 at First Baptist Church in Van Buren. Burial was at U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren.
Pallbearers were Jimmy Bell, Kevin Bell, Chris Bell, Steven Hobbs, Randy Hobbs and Mike Zuber.
Kelly Speaks
Kelly M. Speaks, 72, of Rudy died Thursday, Dec. 21, 2000, at his home. He was retired from Coca-Cola Bottling in Fort Smith, Army veteran of World War II, Navy veteran of the Korean Ward and widower of Barbara Jean Speaks.
Survivors include five daughters, Sherry Dodson, Kellie Speaks and Carolyn Moore, all of Rudy, Lynn Shields of Fort Smith and Shannon Kelley of Kibler; one sister, Lucille Westcott of Morrilton; one brother, Bill Speaks of Morrilton; 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Graveside service was held Dec. 23 at Mount McCurry Cemetery in Rudy under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home.
Ethel Atwell
Ethel Howell Atwell, 83, of Clovis, Calif., formerly of Van Buren, died Monday, Dec. 18, 2000. She was a member of Clovis Assembly of God.
Survivors include her husband, Leonard; one son, Ralph of Caruthers, Calif.; two daughters, Willa Dean Fritchey of Van Buren and Linda Orderay of Clovis; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Caruthers Assembly of God Church under the direction of Boice Funeral Home of Clovis.
