Biographical And Historical Memoirs of Pulaski, Jefferson, Lonoke, Faulkner, Grant, Saline, Perry, Garland And Hot Spring Counties, Arkansas

Ernest Swearingen Sr.
Ernest Swearingen Sr., 82, of Fort Smith died Tuesday, June 5, 2001, at a local hospital. He was a baker for Shipley and Wonder Bakeries, an Army veteran of W.W.II, a member of the American Legion and a Presbyterian.
Survivors include two sons, Allen “Eddie” Swearingen and Ernie Swearingen Jr., both of Fort Smith; and four grandchildren, Ernie Swearingen III, Allen Swearingen, David Swearingen and Melissa Swearingen.
Funeral service was held June 8 at Putman Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was held at U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Putman Funeral Home of Fort Smith with the American Legion providing color guard.
Pallbearers were Dean Epps, Denver Clement, Joe Bob King, Donald McDonald, Ronnie Clegg and Rick Clegg.

Dallas Bonner
Dallas Mae Bonner, 59, of Van Buren died Tuesday, June 5, 2001, at a local hospital. She was the owner of a thrift shop, a homemaker and a member of the Presbyterian Church in Van Buren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie “Butch” Bonner.
Survivors include two daughters, Janice Clark of West Fork and Lily Copeland of Van Buren; two sons, Jackie Bonner of Van Buren and Tommy Bonner of Monte Vista, Colo.; one sister, Anne Hatfield of Van Buren; two brothers, James Nabours of Muldrow, Okla. and Jackie Nabours of Van Buren; seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral service was held June 8 at Ocker Memorial Chapel in Van Buren. Burial was held at Gill Cemetery under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren.
Pallbearers were Claudie Copeland, Carrol Copeland, Charles Gilmore, John Szczerba, Conrad Smith, Dewayne Cauchern, Clifford Newberry and Gene Stanton.

Eugene Allen
Eugene Douglas Allen, 71, of Salem, Ore. died Monday, June 4, 2001, in Salem, Ore. He was a farmer.
Survivors include one son, Bobby Lee Allen of Mulberry; and two sisters-in-law, Corrine Allen of Van Buren and Velma Allen of Buxton, Ore.
Graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Gill Cemetery under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren.

Sean LaRue
Sean Star LaRue, 14, of Mountainburg died Wednesday, June 6, 2001, at a local hospital. He was a member of victorious life ministries.
Survivors include his parents, Roger and Melina LaRue of Mountainburg; his grandparents, Velma LaRue of Alma and Walter and Mary McCartney of Pleasanton, Texas; two sisters Beth LaRue and Karena LaRue; and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.
Graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Morrison Cemetery in Rudy under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren.
Honorary pallbearers will be James Rye, Chris Smiley, Joey Beard, Josh LaRue, Mark McCartney, Daniel McCartney, Timothy McCartney and Daniel Dollard.

Austin Griffith
Austin Griffith, infant son of Rick Griffith and Angie Edmonson of Van Buren, died Wednesday, June 6, 2001, at a local hospital.
Other survivors include his grandparents, David and Linda Goff of Van Buren, John and Margaret Turner of Sentinel, Okla. and John and Elga Goff of Van Buren; one sister Maranda Griffith of Van Buren; and a twin brother, Justin Griffith of Van Buren.
Graveside service was held June 8 at Gill Cemetery under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren.
Pallbearers were Phillip Bridges and Billy Ball.
