Earl Watson Greenwood, 54, was born in South Kingston, R.I. and died at his home in Cherokee Village, Ark., July 19, 2007.
He was a laborer and was last employed in the fishing industry. He is survived by: a sister, Dawn Lee Andrews of Cherokee Village; and a niece, Juanita Powell, N.J. He was preceded in death by his father and mother Earl Greenwood Sr. and Clara Elizabeth Greenwood. Private services will be held at a later date. Edna Yancey Smith, 99, of Evening Shade, Ark., was born March 4, 1908, in Oxford, Ark., the daughter of the late Melvinia Porterfield Yancey and Walter Burton Yancey.
She was a homemaker; a member of the Main Street Church of Christ in Evening Shade. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, quilting and she read her Bible every night.She is survived by: two sons, Juney Smith of Evening Shade and R.V. Smith of Covington, Ga.; one daughter, Veda Horton of Mounds, Okla.; 10 grandchildren: Johnnie Qualls, Wayne Smith, Sue Smith, Gene Smith, Melissa Williamson, Karen Stroud, Rhonda Williams, Cynthia Alford, Judy Smith and Randy Smith; 13 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband, Thurmon Smith; a daughter, Hazel Qualls; a granddaughter, Shelly Horton; four brothers; four sisters; four great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held July 31 at the Main Street Church of Christ in Evening Shade with Brian Reagan and David Cooper officiating. Burial followed in the Sharp cemetery with arrangements under the direction of the Roller-Crouch-McGee Funeral Home of Cave City, Ark. Pallbearers were Johnnie Qualls, Wayne Smith, Gene Smith, Randy Smith, Vernon Neal, Kim Yancey and Dwight Brandon.Honorary pallbearers were Shane Cooper, Billy Paul Boyle, Shelton McFarlin, Dwight Brann and her grandchildren.

Patricia "Patty" Sue French, 67, of Ash Flat, Ark., was born July 25, 1940, the daughter of David Johnson and Dathine (Thompson) Johnson. She died July 20, 2007, at Cabot, Ark.
She worked as a secretary at the Highland High School. She loved to watch her grandchildren in all their activities.She is survived by: her parents, David and Dathine Johnson; her sons, Michael Joe French of Ash Flat, Mark and Raegan French of Ash Flat, and Roger and Susan French of Cabot; her daughter, Tammie French of Cabot; her brother, Charlie and Cathy Johnson of Ash Flat; her sisters, Doris and Ernie Rose of Hardy, and Ann and Kenny Brewer of Jonesboro, Ark.; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.She was preceded in death by: one sister, Sandra Moore; her maternal grandparents, Elmer and Jona Thompson; and her paternal grandparents, Charlie Johnson and Gertrude Pratt.Funeral services were held July 28 at the First Assembly of God in Highland with burial following at the French cemetery in Cherokee Village. Rev. Tim Turner and Johnny Carter both officiated.Arrangements were under the direction of Tri-County Funeral Home of Highland, Ark.

Steven Wayne Hulen, of Salem, Ark., son of Robert Wayne Hulen and the late Ellen (Kelly) Hulen, was born on June 27, 1952, in Mexico, Mo. He died July 22, 2007, at his home in Salem at the age of 55.
He lived in Columbia, Mo., most of his life. He moved to Salem and resided for the past two years. Steven owned and operated an auto upholstery shop. He was of the Christian faithHe is survived by: his father, Robert Hulen of Salem.; a brother, Jamie Stevenson of Columbia, Mo.; and a sister, Lynn Schieni of Salisbury, Mo.; and many other relatives and friends.He was preceded in death by his mother.Private memorial services will be held at a later date. Alvie Cecil "A.C." McClaran, 74, of Wirth, Ark., died Aug. 4, 2007, at the White River Medical Center in Batesville, Ark.
He was born Dec. 20, 1932, in Franklin, Tenn., the son of Robert Mitchell McClaran and Lottie Mae (Sherrill) McClaran.He was united in marriage to Holly Fiaschetti on April 9, 1956, in Vancouver, Wash. A.C. served in the United Sates Navy from 1952 until 1972. After retiring form the Navy he moved with his family to Arkansas. He was the founder and pastor of Grace Baptist Church in Wirth. He became active in Sharp County Republican Party after moving to Arkansas, and was currently serving as the chairman of the Sharp County Republican Party. He was also a Sharp County Committeeman and served as an election commissioner.He is survived by: his wife, Holly of the home; three sons, Alvie C. McClaran II of Greenville, S.C., Daniel McClaran of Greenville, S.C., and David McClaran of Ravenden; five brothers, Ewin McClaran of Nashville, Tenn., Bill McClaran of Westland, Mich., Fred McClaran of Morrison, Tenn., Mart McClaran of Franklin, Tenn., and Joe McClaran of Crossville, Tenn.; three sisters, Imogene Billingston of Salt Lake City, Utah, Maxine Keyon of Muskogee, Okla., and Sally Syes of Franklin, Tenn.; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.He was preceded in death by: his parents; one brother, Quentin McClaran; and one sister, Bobbie Atkins.Funeral services were held Aug. 7 at the Tri-County Funeral Home in Highland with Alvie C. Jewell M. Hutchison, 99, of Cave City, Ark., died Aug. 3, 2007, at the White River Medical Center in Batesville. She was born Jan. 11, 1908, at Cave City, the daughter of the late Walter Ben and Jessie Flora Hutchinson.

Mitchell Lloyd Pickett, 53, of Horseshoe Bend, Ark., formerly of West Memphis, Ark., died Aug. 1, 2007, in Horseshoe Bend.
He was born Dec. 1, 1953, in Dallas, Texas, the son of Russell and Eleanor (Smith) Pickett. He was a member of the St. Stephen's Episcopal Church of Horseshoe Bend. Survivors include: his mother, Eleanor Louise Pickett of Horseshoe Bend; two sons, Michael Pickett II of Memphis, Tenn., and Matthew Pickett of Blair, Neb.; two daughters, Heather Pickett of Columbus, Ohio, and Abby Pickett of Blair, Neb.; two brothers, Chris Pickett of Fayetteville, Ark. and David Pickett of Sherwood, Ark.; and one sister, Pamela Bernardo of Moscow, Idaho. Michael W. Hoffmann, 76, of Cherokee Village, Ark., died Aug. 1, 2007, at his residence.
He was born on Oct. 18, 1930, in St. Louis, Mo., the son of Emil Hoffmann Sr. and Catherine (Pfeiffer) Hoffmann.He was married
to Margaret "Marge" (Kalkbrenner) Hoffmann. Mike worked over 30-years for Ford Motor Company before retiring. He spent the last years of his life working as a ranger at the Cherokee Village Golf Course. He loved fishing, reading and music. Mike was a member of the Arkansas Golf Association. He was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church.He is survived by: his wife, Margaret Hoffmann of the home; five sons, John and Jane Hoffmann of Phoenix, Ariz., Matthew and Trish Hoffmann of Peoria, Ariz., Mark Hoffmann and Rene Spring of Morgan Hil, Calif., Luke Hoffmann of El Mirage, Ariz., and David and Tracy Webb of Cherokee Village; three daughters, Diane and Herb Grossman of Southhampton, N.J., Mary and Michael Balbiani of Dixon, Calif. and Helen and Tony Sweitzer of Dixon, Calif.; two brothers, Emil and Jeanine Hoffmann Jr. of Lake St. Louis, Mo. and Fred and Theresa Hoffmann of O'Fallon, Mo.; three sisters, Margaret "Sis" and Marv Wilson of St. Charles, Mo., Elizabeth "Betty" and Clyde Faulkenberry of Imperial, Mo., and Helen "Maryanne" Horn of Afton, Mo.; 21 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Wanda Williams, 83, of Ash Flat, Ark., died Aug. 1, 2007, in Cave City, Ark. She was born July 4, 1924, at Lafe, Ark., the son of Jonathan Riley Mann and Sarah Either Mann.
She was employed at American Greeting Card Corporation and retired after 27 years of service. She was a charter member of Joiner Baptist Church; at the time of her death she was a member of First Baptist Church of Hardy.She is survived by: three sons, Thomas E. Williams of Cave City, Dickie Williams of Ashdown, Ark., and Ken "Cotton" Williams of Ash Flat; two daughters, Fran McAnally of West Memphis and Carolyn McFatridge of Cherokee Village; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.She was preceded in death by: her husband of 64 years, Thomas W.
