Regina Marie Johnson
Regina Marie Johnson, 71, of Clarksville died Monday, Sept. 21, 2009, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
She was a native of Coal Hill, daughter of the late Leo and Edra Tipton Steele, and was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Brown Jr.; one daughter, Rita Michelle Brown; two sisters, Faye Clayborn and Wanda Kremer; and one brother, Douglas Steele.
Survivors include her husband, H. L. (Billy) Johnson; one son, Scottie Brown and wife, Mary, of Godley, Texas; one stepdaughter, Lorrie Chesser and husband, Brent, of Lamar; one stepson, Darryl Johnson and wife, Nancy, of Salus; one sister, Georgia Riley of Hartman; two brothers, Bill Steele and wife, Elleen, and Robert Steele, all of Hartman; four grandchildren, Sally May Tunnell and husband, Michael, of Joshua, Texas, Tara Jean Fowler and husband, Herb, of Newport News, Va., Cody Johnson of Salus, and Erika Wages of Clarksville; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 23, at Hardwicke Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John Kindrix officiating. Burial will be in Kendall cemetery.
Rudy Clayton Bonds
Rudy Clayton Bonds, 94, of Ozark, father of Ione Daniel of Clarksville, died Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2009, in Ozark.
He was a son of the late William and Sarah L. Smith Bonds, native of Cecil, retired farmer, member of the Faith Missionary Baptist Church and was preceded in death by his wife, Melba Walker Bonds.
Survivors include three other daughters, Avery Mantooth, Willa Pruitt and Carol Willhite, all of Ozark; two sons, Earl Bonds of Ozark and Jack Bonds of Cecil; one sister, Volene Battles of Glendora, Calif.; 16 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 17, at the Faith Missionary Baptist Church with burial at the cemetery Ridge cemetery, south of Ozark, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home of Charleston.
Active pallbearers were grandsons, James and Billy Joe Gude, Kevin, Paul and Randal Bonds, Bryan Pruitt, Greg Willhite, and John Daniel.
Honorary pallbearers were granddaughters, Mary White, Karen Fisher, Terri Sims, Tracie Fate, Connie Cady, Christa Littlefield, Amy Whitson, and Sheila Payne.
Gurvis Leon McCartney
Gurvis Leon McCartney, 80, of Ozark died Friday, Sept. 18, 2009, in Carroll County.
He was a retired U. S. Forest Service technician, U. S. Army veteran, member of Bethel Assembly of God Church, native of Mountain Top, son of the late George and Velma Wright McCartney, and was preceded in death by one son, Jimmy Leon McCartney; and two brothers, James McCartney and Bob McCartney.
Survivors include his wife, Gerry Miner McCartney; one daughter, Debbie Morris of Ozark; two sons, Darrell McCartney and Bruce McCartney, both of Ozark; three brothers, Burl McCartney of Clarksville and Billy McCartney and Larry McCartney, both of Ozark; ten grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 21, at Bethel Assembly of God Church at Mountain Top with Rev. Coy Doss and David Doss officiating.
Burial was in Oak Grove cemetery under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home of Ozark.
Active pallbearers were Dean Wright, Ronnie Wright, Chris McCartney, Dusty McCartney, Cletus Davis and Allen McCartney.
Honorary pallbearers were Robbie Morris, Randy Wyers and Earl Wyers.
Billy Ray Anderson
Billy Ray Anderson, 71, of Dover, father of Monica Cameron of Clarksville, died Friday, July 24, 2009, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center in Russellville. He was a native of Russellville, son of the late Leonard and Eathel Williams Anderson, and was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Pauline Anderson; one other daughter, Renee Nelson and husband, Eddie, of Dover; one son, Billy B. Anderson and wife, Kim, of Dover; four grandsons, William Brian Anderson and wife Jill, Zachary Lee Anderson, Bradley Wayne Nelson and Justin Wade Anderson; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Inez Bramblett and Jackie May; and one brother, Havis Anderson.
Arrangements were under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service of Russellville.
Gary Bailey
Gary W. Bailey, 62, of Russellville, whose son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Amanda Bailey, reside in Clarksville, died Sunday, July 26, 2009, at Saint Mary’s Regional Medical Center in Russellville.
He was a son of the late W.T. and Luveda Carrington Bailey, native of Hollywood, Mo., employee of Saint Mary's Regional Medical Center, member of the Baptist faith, and was preceded in death by one son, Gary Wayne Bailey Jr.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Marie Bailey; two other sons and daughters-in-law, Doug and Melissa Bailey of Richmond, Maine, and Tim and Jessica Bailey of Russellville; eight grandchildren, Gary III, Tyler, Andrew, Andrea, Olivia, Connor and Kevin II; and six siblings, Bobby Dale Bailey, Mary Louise Henson, Edna Ruth Accord, Charles Bailey, Kathleen Bailey, and Nancye Wilkins.
Funeral was at 2 p.m., Wednesday, July 29, at Humphrey Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Ron Kauffman officiating. Burial was at Pisgah cemetery at Pottsville.
Henry Duvall
Henry Ellis Duvall, 41, of Russellville died Tuesday, July 28, 2009, from injuries sustained in an 18-wheeler accident in Cleburne County approximately six miles west of Pangburn.
He was a native of in Dardanelle, truck driver for Arkansas Energy Services, and was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Lee Duvall; and grandparents, T. F. and Ora Duvall, and Henry and Johnnie Proctor.
Survivors include two children, Kristina Duvall and Kendall Duvall of Knoxville; foster son, Thomas Norman of Kansas; mother and stepfather, Nettie Azile and Henry Clark of Pelsor; four brothers and two sisters-in-law, Ed and Julia Duvall of Russellville, Wayne and Mona Duvall and Andy Duvall, all of Pelsor and Larry Segur of Clarksville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral was at 10 a.m., Friday, July 31, at Round Rock Community Church with Rev. J. C. Kinder and Rev. Charles Hefley officiating.
Burial was at Goates cemetery under the direction of Lemley Funeral Service.
Pallbearers were Chris Duvall, Michael Duvall, Dustin Duvall, Dalton Duvall, Lonnie Kinder and John Reams.
J. T. Collins
J. T. Collins, 77, of Springdale, formerly of Clarksville, died Monday, July 27, 2009, in Springdale.
He was a native of Friendship, son of the late James Tandy and Helen Ross Collins, employee of Ouachita Marine, and was of Southern Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Amanda Collins; and one brother, James Collins.
Survivors include his wife, Mae Collins; two sons, James Troy Collins and wife, Ann, of Clarkedale and Robert Tandy Collins and wife, Leslie, of Lowell; one daughter, Brenda Reynolds and husband, Dwain, of Ozark; two brothers, Edgar Collins of Arkadelphia and Truman Collins of Curtis; five sisters, Bernice Glasscock of Benton, Carolyn Carter of Searcy, Corrine Clay of Hot Springs, and Jean Parker and Linda Dugan, both of Keo; and four grandchildren, Jeremy, Tiffany, Tyler and Victoria Collins.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 1, in Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home Chapel in Arkadelphia with Rev. Robbie Jackson officiating. Burial was in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens.
Active pallbearers were Carlous Murch, Matthew Murch, Scott Dean, David Collins, Edgar Collins Jr., and Phillip Carter.
Honorary pallbearers were Jeff and Steve Milner and Brandon Reynolds.
Mazelle Green
Mazelle Green, 62, of Clarksville died Tuesday, July 28, 2009, at her home.
She was a native of Blytheville, daughter of the late Samuel Allen and Jeffie Ernestine Williams McRae, member of Stillwell Baptist Church, and a 17-year employee of Wal-Mart.
Survivors include her husband of 46 years, Ray Green; two sons, Scott Green and wife, Susie, and Brent Green, all of Knoxville; one brother, Allen Harold McRae of Osceola; and two grandchildren, Elijah Green of Knoxville and Carson Green of Russellville.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 30, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jim Goodman officiating. Burial was in Woodland cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Sean West, David Hawkins, Steve Woodard, J. T. Woodard, John Daniels and John Roughley.
Honorary pallbearers were Roy Huntsman and Chris Sinor.
