Patsy Rains
Patsy Rains, 58, of Clarksville died Sunday, Aug. 2, 2009, at her home.
She was born March 17, 1951, in Belen, N. M.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond A. and Marie M. Shane Jones.
Survivors include her husband, William E. Rains; two daughters, Sheryl Yates and husband, Kenny, of Clarksville and Victoria Waldrop and husband, Tim, of Alma; two sons, Billy Gladwell and wife, Sandy, of Salus and Gary Cornett and partner, Steve Culley, of Tulsa, Okla.; one sister, Janell Goodman of Tuscan, Ariz.; two brothers, John L. Jones and wife, Karen, of Miami, Ariz., and Raymond Jones Jr. and wife, Lorine, of Lamar; four grandchildren, Logan, Dylan, Justin and Austin; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 6, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Don Carey officiating. Burial will be in Oakland cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Billy Gladwell, Logan Gladwell, Dylan Gladwell, Gary Cornett, Justin Waldrop and Austin Waldrop.
Honorary pallbearers will be Kenny Goodman, Danny Jones, and Tim Waldrop.
Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. Wednesday, Aug, 5, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Pete Vorster
Pete Vorster, 55, of Dardanelle, Arkansas died Wednesday, July 29, 2009, at his home in Dardanelle, Arkansas. He was born September 7, 1953, in Paris, Arkansas to his parents, William Vorster and Anna (Rotert) Vorster Furstenberg.
He was a member of the Catholic Knights since 1954 serving on the National Board of Directors. He was a national board member since July 2005. He previously served as branch president, treasurer, vice president and secretary as well as president and treasurer of the Catholic Knights state office. In the community, he serves as a Eucharistic minister, usher and server for his church. He also coached his daughter's softball team and is a member of American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Arkansas Society of Certified Public Accountants. He had been employed as an auditor with the Division of Legislative Audit for the state of Arkansas for 22 years and is a Certified Public Accountant.
He is preceded in death by his father, William A. Vorster; one brother, Ben Vorster; and one sister, Kathy Vorster.
Pete is survived by his wife, Donna Carol Ragsdale Vorster; a son, William Vorster and a daughter, Laura Vorster, of the home; mother and stepfather, Anna (Vorster) and Adrian Furstenberg of Subiaco, AR; one brother, David Vorster of Subiaco; two sisters, Debra Vorster of Subiaco and Joan Stone and husband, Howard, of Nashville, Tenn; and numerous other family and friends.
Rosary was at 7:30 p.m. Friday, July 31, 2009, at St. Benedict Catholic Church in Subiaco, AR.

Ernest Lee Caldwell
Ernest Lee Caldwell, 80, of Clarksville, died Monday, July 27, 2009, at Johnson Regional Medical Center. He was born in Tuttle, Oklahoma on January 26, 1929, to the late Mary and Marion Caldwell. He grew up in Sanger, California before moving to Clarksville in 1959. His family farmed raising cattle and chickens while operating the Gulf Station on Rogers and Main during the 1960s. Later he ran the Deep Rock and Gulf Station at exit 55, during the opening of I-40. He also hauled coal for Peabody Coal Co. before retiring in 1975. He was a member of the Clarksville Seventh Day Adventist Church.
He is preceded in his death by two sisters, Juanita Ray and Katheryn Caldwell; three brothers, Russell, Wayne, and James Caldwell; and a grandson, Jonathan Caldwell.
He is survived by six sons, Dale Caldwell and his wife, Anita, of Clarksville, Arkansas Duane Caldwell and his wife, Cheryl, of Clarksville, Arkansas, Doyle Caldwell and his wife, Dona, of Sheridan, Arkansas, Darrell Caldwell and his wife, Anita, of Paris, Tennessee, David Caldwell and his wife, Karen, of Anderson, South Carolina, and Dean Caldwell of Carthage, Missouri; four sisters, Pansy Phillips, Iness Wyrick, and Ester Stanley, all of California, and Margaret Voels of Minnesota; one brother, Donald Caldwell of Lamar, Arkansas; thirteen grandchildren; and seventeen great grandchildren.
The family received friends at the funeral home from 5-8 p.m., Thursday, July 30, 2009. The funeral service was at 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 31, 2009, at the Roller-Cox Funeral Chapel, in Clarksville, with Carl Holland and Ray Rogers officiating. Burial followed in the Oakland cemetery, in Clarksville.
Active Pallbearers were sons, Darrell, Dale, Doyle, David, Duane, and Dean.
Honorary Pallbearers were John West, Mike Mierop, Sam James, Scotty Bishop, David Handley, Gary Ledford, and Steve Fetters.
Anna Jean England
Anna Jean Brewer England, 50, of Clarksville died Sunday, Sept. 21, 2008, at Little Rock.
She was a native of Jonesboro, employee of HBI, member of the Assembly of God Church, and was preceded in death by her mother, Agnes Inez Lister Brewer.
She is survived by one daughter, Christy England of Clarksville; one son, Kevin England and wife, Ana, of Fort Gordon, Ga.; father, Troy Brewer; two sisters, Jean Parrish and husband, Junior, of Knoxville and Cindy Scrivner and husband, Dewey, of Clarksville; one brother, Don Brewer and wife, Delinda, of Clarksville; and three grandchildren, Olivia, Kilani, and Nikolas.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 24, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Amos Pledger and Rev. Jeff Brewer officiating. Burial will be in Lamar cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Phillip Brewer, Jeff Brewer, Rodney Brewer, Steve Parrish, Rusty Curtis, and Bryce Parrish.
Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Brewer and Jeb Clark.
Elvira B. Barnes
Elvira B. Barnes, 96, of Clarksville, Ark., was called home to be with her Lord on Sept. 19, 2008, while residing in the Countryside Manor nursing home.
She was born to the late George and Rosa Grohs at Dundee, Iowa on Aug. 14, 1912. She was married
to Roger Barnes on July 6, 1935, at Kenosha, Wis.
She and her husband farmed at Sturtevant, Wis. for 30 years. She tended the farm, her garden and her lovely flowers.
In 1973, they retired and moved to Hartman, Ark., farming until 1996 when she moved to Clarksville.
She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and an active member of the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League and the choir. She also was an active member of the AARP and the Senior Citizen’s Activity Center.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; father, George Grohs; mother, Rosa Grohs; two brothers, Raymond Grohs and Marcine Grohs; nephew Kurt Fritzsche and many uncles and aunts.
Surviviors include nephew Bruce Grohs and his wife Sandra from Sparta, Ga.; niece Barbara Heinicka, Pinellas, Fla.; godchild, Ruth Gunther, Racine, Wisc.; many cousins and second cousins in Wisconsin, Florida, California and Iowa and many friends.
The funeral was held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, Sept. 22, at Grace Lutheran Church with Rev. Herb Swanson officiating. Burial was in Bethlehem cemetery under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Active pallbearers were Bruce Grohs, Don Langdon, Edmund Drittler, Leo Kneoernschild, Jeff Hass and Jerry Holman.
Honary pallbearers were members of Grace Lutheran Church.
Visitation was held Sunday, Sept. 21, at Hardwicke Funeral Home.
