Lee Roy Gipson
Lee Roy Gipson, 67, of Clarksville died Wednesday, April 21, 2010, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
A native of Hartman, he was a son of the late Floyd and Etta Lou Riley Gipson, and truck driver for 47 years for Taylor Brothers, Delp, N.R. Sullivan and Caywood Trucking at Springdale, and David Beneux, now West, NW.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Helen Tong Gipson; two daughters, Angela Malene Peterson and Helen Yvonne Mayfield, both of Clarksville; one son, Troy Lee Gipson of the Flat Rock Community; one sister, Nita Rae Mitts of West Plains, Mo.; one brother, Jr Gipson of Clarksville; nine grandchildren, Andrew Lee Raburn of Alma, and Stephen Joseph Raburn, Angela Nicole Peterson, Heather Elena Michelle Raburn, Richard Keagan Flinn, Joshua Alan Mayfield, Nathaniel Shane Mayfield, Athena Marie Grigsby, and Troy Lee Gipson Jr., all of Clarksville; and five great-grandchildren, Hallie Marie Gipson, Brooklyn Michelle Smith, Braxton Eli Raburn, Jordis Dawson, and Ashton Andrew Dawson.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Friday, April 23, at Hardwicke Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tom Dicus officiating. Burial was in Kendall cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Rick Mayfield, James Goodman, Wayne Tong, Richard Flinn, Rick Peterson, and Adam Decker.
Honorary pallbearers were James Smith, A.J. Raburn, Keagan Flinn, and Josh Mayfield.
Linda Lee England
Linda Lee Campbell Brown England, 49, of Coal Hill died Monday, April 19, 2010.
She was a native of St. Louis, Mo., daughter of the late Ira and Mary Huddleston Campbell, formerly of Mountain View, Pentecostal, and was preceded in death by two husbands, James Perry Brown and Gary England; three brothers, Charles, Franklin and Billy Ray Polston; and one sister, Lois Kronk.
She is survived by one son, Christopher James Brown of Clarksville; two daughters, Jamalina Michelle Brown of Dyer and Shana Lucinda Brown of Navarre, Fla.; four grandchildren, Lakeyn Freeman, Ethan Brown, Logan Brown, and Kierstin Brown; one sister, Cheryl Turner of Mountain View; and two brothers, Ira Campbell of Cord and Raymond Campbell of Mountain View.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 22, at Dugan Pentecostal Church in Mountain View with Barbara Bullard officiating.
Burial was in Mount Joy cemetery under the direction of Roller Crouch Funeral Home of Mountain View.
Pallbearers were Joseph Turner, Jim Bob Turner, Jacob Turner, Shawn Campbell, Stephen Ganus, and Phillip Kronk.
Pat Henry Havener
Pat Henry Havener, 81, of Clarksville died Friday, April 23, 2010, at Clarksville Health and Rehab.
He was a native of Lamar, son of the late John and Ora Bell Henderson Havener, an Army veteran of World War II having served as a paratrooper in occupied Japan, self-employed in the grocery store business in Lamar for many years, retired employee of Kim Products Company in Clarksville, and was preceded in death by two brothers, John Havener and Carroll (Cotton) Havener; and three sisters, Sybil Woodward, Lois Webb, and Polly Tucker.
Survivors include one son, Stephan Michael Molnar of Clarksville; one sister, Jane Eichenberger of Clarksville; and one brother, Paul Havener of Monroe, La.
Crematory arrangements were under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Wilma A. Helmert
Wilma Antionette Helmert, 69, of Clarksville died Saturday, April 24, 2010, at her home.
She was a daughter of the late Arthur and Lillian Howerton, native of Chicago, Ill., and was preceded in death by one son, Arthur W. Kotch; and one daughter, Elizabeth Kotch Cornett.
Survivors include her husband, John Helmert Sr.; two daughters, Pam Pruett and husband, Gary, of Clarksville and Penny Carter of Ozark; three sons, Bob Bartlett and wife, Tammi, of Coppell, Texas, Matthew Kotch of Clarksville, and Thomas Helmert of Fort Smith; two stepsons, Aldon Helmert and wife, Ashley, of Gulfport, Miss., and John Helmert Jr. and wife, Cathy, of Abbeville, Miss.; one sister and brother-in-law, Virginia and Bill Sampey of San Antonio, Texas; one brother and sister-in-law, Shorty and Shirley Helmert of Alix; 26 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Crematory arrangements were under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Lung Association.
Bessie Mae Kraus
Bessie Mae Kraus, 96, of Oran, Mo., died Saturday, July 24, 2010, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo.
A native of Hagarville, she was a daughter of the late Gilbert and Lou Clark Patterson, widow of Amos J. Kraus, member of the Assembly of God Church, and was preceded in death by one son, Dwayne Kraus; one sister; and four brothers.
Survivors include two granddaughters, Amy (Steve) Ressel and Audrey (Pat) Seyer of Oran, Mo.; one daughter-in-law, Sue Kraus of Oran, Mo., one sister, Orena Halford of Sikeston, Mo.; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 25, at Amick-Burnett Funeral Home Chapel in Oran, Mo., with Rev. Larry Davis officiating. Burial was in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens near Morley, Mo.
Betty L. Waddill
Betty L. Curtis Daniel Waddill, 73, of Clarksville died Saturday, Aug. 14, 2010, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
She was a native of Hagarville, daughter of the late Rual L. and Eula E. White Curtis, and retired Sara Lee Company employee.
Survivors include her husband, Robert L. Waddill; three sons, Eric Daniel of Fort Smith, Phillip Daniel of Lubbock, Texas, and Brent S. Waddill of Clarksville; six sisters, Juanita Cooper, Mary Bean, Tricia Gregory and Judy Allred, all of Clarksville, Glenda Self of Rogers, and Tammy Evans of Russellville; six brothers, Paul Curtis, Terry Curtis, David Curtis and Steve Curtis, all of Clarksville, and Bobby Curtis and Jerry Curtis, both of Lamar; and seven grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 18, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Amos Pledger officiating. Burial will be in Annie's Chapel cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Terry Curtis, Guy Watson, Brad Hobbs, Barry Park, Bobby Dayne Phillips and Jeff Curtis.
Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Curtis, Mike Self, and Tim Self.
Betty Sue Wheeler
Betty Sue Wheeler, 69, of Clarksville died Wednesday, Aug. 11, 2010, at Clarksville.
She was a native of Alvin, Texas, daughter of the late Charlie Lee and Edith Warren, member of the Church of Christ, and was preceded in death by one sister, Mickey Havener.
Survivors include her husband of 53 years, James C. (J.C.) Wheeler; three daughters, Kathie Pattermann of Clarksville, Vickie Mack of Salus, and Ronda Graves of Lamar; one son, Carl Wheeler of Lamar; one sister, Janie Wheeler of Ozone; one brother, Harold Dean Warren of Fort Smith; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 14, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Scott officiating. Burial was in Oakland cemetery.
Pallbearers were Jason Pattermann, Jordan Pattermann, Don Graves, Scott Price, Roger Ost, and Tony Havener.
Johnny L. Willis
Johnny L. Willis, 80, of Tacoma, Wash., died Sunday, Aug. 1, 2010, while visiting in Oregon House, Calif.
A native of Hagarville and son of the late John and Lucille Willis, he retired from the United States Air Force in 1969 after spending 20 years and serving in Vietnam in 1966-67. He was also owner of Johnny and Son RV Service in South Tacoma, Wash., for many years prior to retiring in 2002.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Dorothy (Dottie) Smith Willis; twin daughters, Rhonda (John) Flores of Oregon House, Calif., and Sondra (Les) Bennett of Tacoma, Wash.; two sons, John J. (Cristell) Willis of Federal Way, Wash., and Mark Willis of Tacoma, Wash.; grandchildren, Cristi (Scott) Deen of Spokane, Wash., John B. (Amy) Flores Jr. of Marysville, Calif., Jennifer Troxell of Pullman, Wash., Matthew Troxell of Arlington, Wash., Zackery Willis of Spanaway, Wash., and Jordan Frederickson of Federal Way, Wash.; great-grandchildren, Koral and Kayla Deen, John B. III, Abigail and Carter Flores, Alex Troxell, and Bentley Troxell; one brother, James H. Willis of Russellville; and one sister, Anna Jean Stewart of Dover.
Funeral was at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 13. Interment and full military honors followed at 1:15 p.m. at Tahoma National cemetery in Kent, Wash. Arrangements were under the direction of Tuell-McKee Funeral Home of Tacoma, Wash.
