Johnny Wesley Mahan
Funeral for Johnny Wesley Mahan, 94, of Alma, who died Friday, Aug. 13, 2010, at his home was at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 17, at the Alma Church of Christ with Dale Brown and Merrill Pence officiating.
Burial was in Hess cemetery at Coal Hill under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Active pallbearers were Bransen Hughart, Dain Downs, Mike Coleman, DeWayne Mahan, Brian Mahan, and Darrell Goodpasture.
Honorary pallbearer was Jay Coleman.
He was a native of Vilonia, employed by the Coca Cola Company for 13 years, Church of Christ minister for 50 years, World War II Air Force veteran, and was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia (Blossom) Hardgrave Mahan.
Survivors include one daughter, Layne Downs of Fort Smith; two sons, Buddy Mahan of Chickasha, Okla., and Butch Mahan and wife, Ginny, of Alma; 10 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Melvin T. Dorn
Melvin Theodore Dorn, 75, of Dover, died Thursday, Aug. 12, 2010, at UAMS Hospital in Little Rock.
He was a longtime resident of the Augsburg Community, son of the late Theodore and Emma Uellner Dorn of Piney, current president and lifetime active member of Zion Lutheran Congregation at Augsburg, vice president of the Dover Chamber of Commerce, longtime active member, founder and current president of Bayliss Rural Fire Department, former member and past president of the Dover School Board, served on the board of directors of the National Resource Conservation Services, a lifetime cattleman, conservationist and forester, co-owner of "Crazy D Bar Nothing Farm" at Augsburg, 1955 graduate of Arkansas Tech University with a degree in agriculture, retired from the USDA Services in 1986, and was preceded in death by two brothers, Glenn H. Dorn and Harold Dorn.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, JoAnn Dorn; two sons, Ted (Kathleen) Dorn of Gentry and Rusty (Nikki) Dorn of London; three grandchildren, Weston Dorn of Van Buren, Kabria Dorn of Calhoun, La., and Brent Dorn of Gentry; mother-in-law, Sena Parsons of Lamar; sister-in-law, Juanita Dorn of Atkins; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 14, at Zion Lutheran Church with Pastor Thomas Lakso officiating.
Burial was in Zion Lutheran cemetery under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service of Russellville.
Active pallbearers were Ed Steuber, Stan Garner, Robert Sims, Kirby Hemmer, Cecil McDaniel, and Earl Schrock.
Honorary pallbearers were Lawrence Steuber, Buddy Bocksnick, Gordon Higgs, Dr. Robert Thurlby and Rev. W.H. Ringhardt.

Sandra A. Robinson
Sandra Arbaugh Robinson, 51, of Oark died Thursday, Aug. 12, 2010, at Baptist Health Hospital in Little Rock.
She was a native of Atascadero, Calif., graduate of Paso Robles (California) High School, retired beautician, and preceded in death by her father, Hoyt Arbaugh; and one brother, Delbert (Butch) Abercrombie.
Survivors include one daughter, Malinda Wagner and husband, Chris, of Clarksville; two sons, Buddy Robinson of Fort Smith and Clayton Robinson of Oark; mother, Bessie Abercrombie of Clarksville; one sister, Debra Hammons and husband, Coy, of Oark; two stepbrothers, Paul Alexander and Darrell Abercrombie, both of Bakersfield, Calif.; two stepsisters, Karen Stotts and Jenny Ramariz, both of Bakersfield, Calif.; two grandchildren, Darren and Derek Wagner; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 16, at Hardwicke Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Robbie Jackson officiating. Burial was in Oark cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Ronnie Stepp, Ronnie Wagner, John Hodge, Coy Hammons, Chris Wagner, and Tom Mingo.
Honorary pallbearers were Dale Williams, Dennis Stutzman, Bud Baker, and Tyler Hopkins.
Trula Marie Freeman
Trula Marie Freeman, 75, of Alma, formerly of Knoxville, died Sunday, Aug. 8, 2010, at an area hospital.
She was a native of Coyle, Okla., and preceded in death by one son, Clay Freeman.
Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Bobby G. Freeman; one daughter, Lynda Freeman of the home; six sons, Robert Freeman and wife, Dawna, of Oklahoma, Steve Freeman of Alma, Donald Wilson and Harold Lavern Wilson, both of California, Willard (Bill) Freeman of McAlester, Okla., and Steven Gene Freeman of Illinois; two brothers, Harold (Butch) Long of Cedarville and Duane Long of Stilwell, Okla.; 23 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and numerous great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services and burial were at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 13, at Gracelawn cemetery in Van Buren under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home.
Active pallbearers were Robert Freeman, Steve Freeman, Don Wilson, Bill Freeman, Kenny LaRue, and Koy England.
Honorary pallbearers were Tommy, Kody and Steve Gene Freeman.
Virginia Clark
Virginia Clark, 81, of London, whose daughter and son-in-law, Cathey and Danny Hughes, reside in Clarksville, died Saturday, Aug. 14, 2010, at Saint Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville.
A native of Dover, she was a daughter of the late Brown and Willie E. Turner Parrish, member of the West Side Church of Christ, and employed by International Shoe Company for 16 years, the American Greeting Card Company for 20 years, and Stanley Home Products from 1968 until the present. She was preceded in death by one brother, Raymond Parrish; one nephew, Dennis Parrish; and one niece, Carol Parry.
Other survivors include her husband of 52 years, Charles Clark; one son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Sharon K. Clark of London; and three grandsons, Justin Hughes of Fort Smith, Clayton Hughes of Clarksville, and Silas Clark of London.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 17, at Shinn Funeral Service Chapel in Russellville with Jerry Turner officiating. Burial was in Price cemetery at London.
Active pallbearers were Justin and Clayton Hughes, Silas Clark, Tommy and Jimmy Turner and Johnny Grant.
Honorary pallbearers were Tim, Aaron and Jeremy Clark and Rick and Donald Butts.

Jackson Morgan Haynes
Jackson Morgan Haynes, aged 78, of Benton passed to his heavenly home on August 15, 2010. He was born on November 2, 1931 to the late John M. and Amy Jetton Haynes in Clarksville, Arkansas.
He attended College of Ozarks in Clarksville 1949-51, the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville 1951-1952 where he received a BS in Chemistry and then graduated from The Pharmacy School at University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock in 1953. He has been owner of West Side Pharmacy in Benton for over 55 years where he actively worked until his health declined.
He was Past President of Benton Chamber of Commerce (1964) and was instrumental in starting the first Old Fashion Day which has been held each October since that time. He was a member of the Rotary Club, Lions Club, National Association of Retail Druggist, and former President of Associated Pharmacists. He was named to Outstanding Young Men of America in 1965 and Who’s Who in Arkansas 1968.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Benton for 55 years where he was active in many roles through the years and a member of the Wesley Sunday School Class.
He most enjoyed spending time with his family and family vacation time. Christmas was his special time and he wanted the family at his home each and every Christmas morning. He believed in Santa Claus until the end of his life teaching children that Santa was the spirit of giving which he so enjoyed doing himself.
He was an avid table tennis player and traveled across the United States and abroad playing in Table Tennis Tournaments for many years.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Joan and three daughters, Linda Webb and husband, Ronny, of Greenville, MS, Pam Breckinridge and husband, Rick of Benton, and Jacque Noles of Benton, son, Mark Haynes of Texas, eight grandchildren, Amy Nalley and husband, Kevin of Springdale, Faranak Ozbun, Ben Ozbun, Andy Ozbun and wife, Jennifer all of Greenville, MS, Chad Hendrix and wife, Anna of Benton, Deanna Fuller and husband, Nick of Benton, nine great grandchildren, Kinlee, Jax and Knox Nalley of Springdale, Evie and Michael Hendrix of Benton, Jack Ozbun and Morgan Ozbun of Greenville, MS, and Donnely and Eli Fuller of Benton. He is also survived by a sister, Johnnie Cox of Lake Village, Arkansas and a special Niece, Patti Morrison and her husband, Russell of Benton. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Juanita Rinehart and an infant brother. Also surviving is a son, Mark Haynes of Texas.
Church services by Ashby Funeral Home will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. David Jones and Rev. Robert Cloninger officiating. Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Ashby Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Ben Ozbun, Andy Ozbun, Kevin Nalley, Nick Fuller, Russell Morrison and Denton Morrison.
Honorary pallbearers are Pharmacist of West Side Pharmacy, Buddy Grifford, Tim Finley, Jason Finley, Larinda Floyd, Dale Ryan, Teresa Price and Hubert Spann.
The family extends a special thanks to Dr. Billy Evans, Dr. Shane Kimball and Dr. Joseph Wyble for their loving and devoted care during his illness as well as a special thanks to the nurses at Benton Dialysis Center.

His physical presence will be sorely missed by his family but will live in our hearts forever until we see him again.
