James McGuire
James McGuire, 84, of Knoxville died Friday, May 14, 2010, at Clarksville Health and Rehab.
He was a native of Newton County, son of the late Louis and Annie Radford McGuire, farmer, and was preceded in death by his wife, Laura Farmer McGuire; four sons, L.J. McGuire, Don McGuire, Billy McGuire, and Kenneth McGuire; two daughters, Sue Young and Shirley White; four sisters; and three brothers.
He is survived by one daughter, Patsy Ralls of Clarksville; two sons, Jimmy McGuire of Clarksville and Frank McGuire of Joiner; one brother, Earnest McGuire of Clarksville; 27 grandchildren; and 33 great-grandchildren.
Crematory arrangements were under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Jane Eichenberger
Jane Eichenberger, 72, of Clarksville died Friday, May 14, 2010, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
She was a native of Lamar, daughter of the late John Henry and Ora Bell Henderson Havener, 1956 graduate of Lamar High School, 1960 graduate of the University of the Ozarks with a bachelor's degree in science and education, member of the Church of Christ, and retired as director of the Johnson County Senior Activity Center in 2005.
Survivors include her husband, Don Eichenberger; one daughter, Sue Ann Jernigan and husband, Gary, of Dardanelle; one son, Don Al Eichenberger and wife, Myra, of Springdale; one brother, Buddy Paul Havener of Monroe, La.; and three grandchildren, Zachary Eichenberger and J.T. Eichenberger, both of Springdale, and Emma Jernigan of Dardanelle.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 18, at Hardwicke Funeral Home Chapel with Buddy Havener officiating. Burial was in Oakland cemetery.
Pallbearers were Larry Holman, Earl Eichenberger, David Eichenberger, Bob Eichenberger, J.T. Eichenberger, Zach Eichenberger, Floyd Pledger, and Duane Steele.

Pablo C. Rivas
Pablo Castaneda Rivas, 70, of Hartman died Thursday, May 13, 2010, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
He was a native of Palo Alto, Mexico, Catholic, and self-employed.
He is survived by three daughters, Maria Del Refujio Rivas De Rodriguez of Granite Shoals, Texas, Graciela Rivas of Cottonwood, Texas, and Alta Rivas de Gomez of Russellville; two sons, Raul Rivas of Webster, Texas, and Reyes Rivas of New Orleans, La.; parents, Reyes Rivas Marmolejo and Maximina Castaneda De Rosales; three sisters, Angelina Rivas Castaneda of Leon, Mexico, and Blasa Rives Castaneda and Maria De La Luz Rivas Castaneda, both of Aguas, Mexico; 15 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and companion, Mary Kay Thompson.
Graveside services and burial were at 3 p.m. Saturday, May 15, at West Mount Zion cemetery with Father William Wewers officiating.
Pallbearers were Raul Rivas, Reyes Rivas, Manuel Jaramillo, and Saul Gomez.
Arrangements were under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Rheba Nora Weir
Rheba Nora Weir, 87, of London passed away on Thursday, May 13, 2010, in Russellville, AR. She was born October 26, 1922, in the Augsburg Community outside of London to Dora Ethel Pless Bauman and Gustaf A. Bauman, both of whom have preceded her in death.
During her life, Mrs. Weir was very active in Mt. Carmel Cumberland Presbyterian Church, a founding member of the Pless Community Extension Homemakers Club, a Pope County Cattlewoman, and a member of the Gideon’s International Auxiliary.
Also preceding her in death was James H. Moore Jr., her first son-in-law, married
to Linda Paulette Weir.
Mrs. Weir is survived by her husband of 68 years, Paul Edison Weir; two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Joe Williams of Choctaw, Okla., and Anita and Arnie Burk of London; three granddaughters and their husbands, Kim and Nathan Knight of Clarksville, Brittney and Lance Garner of Russellville, and Jamie and Brent Abbott of London; two grandsons and their wives, Michael and Misty Moore, and A.J. and Natalie Burk, all of Russellville; and 15 great-grandchildren, Campbell, Payton, Moriah, Hannah, Caraline, Zach, Haley, Taylor, Carter, Brooks, Harmony, Tori, Brenna, Cate, and Sydney.
Funeral service was at 10:00 a.m. Monday, May 17, 2010, at the Mt. Carmel Cumberland Presbyterian Church north of London in the Pless Community. Burial was in Mt. Carmel cemetery under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service. The family received friends from 6-8:00 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home. Bettinna Williams Price
Bettinna Williams Price, 39, of Omaha, whose brother and sister-in-law, Mitchell and Patricia Price, reside in Clarksville, died Friday, Jan. 15, 2010.
She was a native of Russellville, daughter of the late Jerry Price, member of Living Church of God in Springfield, Mo., employee of Carolina Mills in Branson, Mo., and was preceded in death by grandparents, James and Ruth Gillian, Lewis and Evelyn Boaz, and Raymond Price; and nieces and nephews.
Other survivors include her husband, Wake Williams; mother, Gail Price of Omaha; three sons, Terry Cooper of London, and Justin Cooper and Dakota Williams of Omaha; three daughters, Ashley Cooper of Russellville, and Kayla Cooper and Meagan Price of Omaha; one sister, Gena Ward and husband, Paul, of Green Forest; niece, Keisha Wilson and children of Green Forest; and aunt, Judy Boaz of Omaha.
Celebration of life was at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 20, at New Hope Baptist Church in Omaha with Carl Biersborfer officiating.
Burial was in New Hope cemetery under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Home of Green Forest.
Elizabeth Wood Leiter
Elizabeth Adkins Wood Leiter, 98, of San Angelo, Texas, formerly of Clarksville, died Sunday, Jan. 24, 2010.
She was a native of the Harmony Community, daughter of the late Joe and Sydney Porter Adkins, widow of Lonnie Wood and Kim Leiter, formerly employed as a nurse's aide at Clarksville Hospital and for various doctors in town prior to becoming a nurse at the University of the Ozarks where she retired after 22 years of service. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Clarksville for 40-plus years before moving to San Angelo, Texas, where she joined Glen Meadows Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by one son, John (J.L.) Wood; one daughter, Betty Sue Mack; one granddaughter, Mary Jane Pitts; two sisters, Bernice Hunt and Gladys Miracle; and two brothers, Arlen Adkins and Lee Adkins.
Survivors include two sons, Bobby Joe Wood and wife, Sondra, and Billy Don Wood and wife, Pat; four grandchildren and spouses, Mike (Alice) Wood, Karen (Tony) Varnell, Carol Peel, and Kenny (Denise) Mack; 10 great-grandchildren, Christina Butler, Jessica and Megan Varnell, Jenny, Jeff, Justin, and Jessica Mack, Barry Peel, Christy Caldwell, and John David Pitts; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 27, prior to the funeral at 2 p.m. at Hardwicke Funeral Home Chapel in Clarksville with Rev. David Hanshaw officiating. Burial will follow at Liberty Hill cemetery.
Ellen L. Johnson
Ellen Lorene Daniel Johnson, 85, of Lamar died Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2010.
She was retired from raising cattle and as an Avon representative, daughter of the late Seldon and Ada Reynolds Daniel, widow of Dayton Johnson, and was preceded in death by two sisters, Helen Colvin and Ruth Cowell.
She is survived by one daughter, Teressa Shaw of Lamar; two sons, S.D. Colvin and Charles Colvin, both of Lamar; three sisters, Louise Miller of Clarksville, Anna Bruce of Bloomfield, Mo., and Mary Causey of Sikeston, Mo.; one brother, James Daniel of Lamar; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 22, at Holman Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Geno Johnston and Rev. Herbert Tilley officiating.
Burial was in Holman cemetery under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.

Ethelreda F. Hughes
Ethelreda Furstenburg Hughes, 78, of Double Springs, Ala., formerly of Clarksville, died Sunday, Jan. 17, 2010, at her home.
She was a native of Paris, daughter of the late Frank and Dora Furstenburg, member of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Haleyville, Ala., and was preceded in death by her first husband, Billy Joe Burnett; infant children, Joseph Burnett and Laura Hughes; two sisters, Ann Konert and Juanita Scarpetta; and one brother, Tommy Furstenburg.
Survivors include her husband, James R. Hughes; children and spouses, Teri (Don) Burnett Chavers of Lamar, Mike Burnett of Clarksville, Bill Burnett of Acworth, Ga., Eddy (Kathy) Burnett of Woodruff, S.C., James A. Mass of Christian burial was at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 22, at Pinkard Funeral Home in Haleyville, Ala., with Father Tim Pfander officiating. Interment was at Fairview cemetery in Double Springs, Ala.
