Billy L. Fillmore

Billy L. Fillmore, 83, of Clarksville died Sunday, Dec. 19, 2010, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.

He was a native of Kansas, son of the late Eugene Paul and Mary Estep Fillmore, Army veteran of World War II, and was preceded in death by two brothers, Dale and Millard Fillmore; and two sisters, Evelyn Knapp and Retha Glover.

He is survived by one niece, Marsha Rode of Virginia Beach, Va.; and one nephew, Millard Fillmore Jr. of Kansas.

Cremation arrangements were under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.

Loretta A. Stiles

Loretta A. Stiles, 78, of Sanford, N.C., formerly of Johnson County, died Dec. 18, 2010.

She was born in Idaho to the late Allie Poole and Cordia Poole and was preceded in death by one grandchild, Angel Marie Bianchi.

Survivors include her, Donald Stiles; children, Georgia Bianchi, Jack Edwards and wife, Debi, Debbie Fowler and husband, Kirk Franse, Terrie Wahrer, and Susie Gregory and husband, Bill; brother, Edmond Poole and wife, Betty; sisters, Viriginia Deckard and Vera Horn; 10 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Graveside services and burial will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 23, at the Rosetta cemetery under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be August Wahrer, Michael Blank, Will Cowell, Troy Wise, Brian Blank, and Chris Boudreaux.

Carolyn E. Hudson

Carolyn E. Hudson, 71, of Knoxville died Sunday, Dec. 12, 2010, at her home.

She was a native of Little Rock, daughter of the late Walter and Clara Rhodes Adams, widow of Edward (Buddy) Hudson, member of Knoxville First Baptist Church, former employee of Posey Printing and Tim Robertson, and was preceded in death by one sister, Dorothy Brown; and two brothers, Benny Adams and Walter Dean Adams.

She is survived by three sons, Eddie Hudson and wife, Janice, of Jacksonville, Ronnie Hudson and wife, Sherry, of Charlotte, N.C., and Jimmy Hudson and wife, Cindy, of Knoxville; two sisters, Marie Clark of Little Rock and Anna Sue Murdock of Knoxville; three brothers, James Loyd Adams of California, William Adams of Little Rock, and Stacy Lee Adams of Mabelvale; nine grandchildren, John Miranda and wife, Amanda, Chad Hudson, Daniel Hudson, Samantha Feathers and husband, Cory, Joy Osuch and husband, Steve, Ronnie Hudson Jr. and wife, Leigh, Mary Hudson, Christy Chronister and husband, Steven, and Jimmy Hudson; and six great-grandchildren, Gavin Miranda, Cody Osuch, Luke Hudson, Jacob Hudson, Zachary Chronister and Sierra Chronister.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 16, at the family home at 477 CR 1640, Knoxville with Ronnie Hudson officiating.

Crematory arrangements are under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to Johnson County Hospice, 1219 Rogers, Clarksville, AR 72830 or St. Mary’s Cancer Treatment Center, 1801 West Main Street, Russellville, AR 72801.

J.E. Halmes

J.E. Halmes, 83, of Ozark, whose brother and sister-in-law, Howard and Katherine Halmes, reside near Hartman, died Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2010, in Ozark.

He was born in Ozark, son of the late Fuller and Euna Chandler Halmes, retired farmer-rancher, member of the First Christian Church of Ozark, and was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline Powell Halmes.

Other survivors include one daughter, Dr. Christine Halmes of Denver, Colo.; one son, Joe Halmes and wife, Linda, of Ozark; two grandchildren, Jody Halmes and wife, Dana, and Lynn Culver and husband, Tim; and four great-grandchildren, Casey and Lindsey Culver and Maebry and Hannah Halmes.

Funeral was at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 10, at Shaffer Funeral Home Chapel in Ozark with Dr. Jim Mattson and Tim Culver officiating. Burial was in Highland cemetery at Ozark.

Jerome Allen Watkins

Jerome Allen (Jerry) Watkins, 79, of Cave Springs, father of Mark Watkins of Clarksville, died Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2010, at the Circle of Life Hospice House in Springdale.

He was born on Dec. 30, 1930, in Chicago, Ill., the son of Benjamin Edwards Watkins and Frances Maria Jones Watkins, U.S. Army veteran having served during the Korean War, member of the American Legion Post 174 in Cave Springs, an employee of Walmart prior to retiring in 1992, avid gardener, school volunteer, and was preceded in death by one daughter, Janice Watkins; and one sister, Frances Watkins.

Survivors include his wife, Edwina Watkins; one other son, Gregory Watkins of Siloam Springs; four daughters, Jerilynn Wright of Fairfax Station, Va., Ginny Watson of Broken Arrow, Okla., Diane Watkins Burger of Bentonville, and Therese Thompson of Cave Springs; one sister, Rosemary Belmonte of Woodstock, Ill.; 15 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Funeral was at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec 11, at the Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Chapel in Springdale with Rev. Glynn Trusty officiating. Burial was at the Elm Springs cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale.

Judy M. Martz

Judy Marie Martz, 70, of Knoxville died Friday, Dec. 10, 2010, at her home.

She was a native of Madison, Neb., graduate of Madison (Nebraska) High School, widow of Derald Martz, and was preceded in death by her father, Tony Treinies; and two brothers, Homer Ramzine and Gary Treinies.

Survivors include one son, Garrett Martz and wife, Brenda, of Knoxville; mother, Nelda Treinies of Madison, Neb.; one sister, Mary Ann Peterson of Madison, Neb.; two sisters-in-law, Julie Treinies of Texas and Billie Ramzine of Florida; one granddaughter, Brandye Eichelberger and husband, Jimmy, of Knoxville; two great-grandchildren, Shelbi and Hannah Eichelberger; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 15, at Hardwicke Funeral Home Chapel.

The body was cremated.

Margaret Ann Cochran

Funeral for Margaret Ann Cochran, 75, who died Friday, Dec. 10, 2010, was at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 14, at Sharon Baptist Church in Wichita, Kan. Arrangements were under the direction of Downing & Lahey Mortuary East.

Memorials may be made to Sharon Baptist Church, 2221 S. Oliver, Wichita, KS 67218.

She was a former resident of Clarksville, where she was employed at a restaurant owned by her parents, the late Lawrence and Geneva Richardson, a retired real estate agent, and was preceded in death by two sons, Steve Cochran and Jim Cochran.

Survivors include her husband, Fred Cochran; one son, Brian (Denise) Cochran of Wichita, Kan.; two grandchildren, Max Cochran of Cummings, Ga., and Casey Cochran of Wichita, Kan.; two sisters, Mary Bily of Wichita, Kan., and Diana Sue Banto of Las Vegas, Nev.; and one brother, Dwight Richardson of Clarksville.

Nina B. Yeargain

Nina Beatrice Yeargain, 82, of Clarksville died Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2010, at Clarksville.

She was a native of Oil Trough, daughter of the late Hershel Houston and Nina B. Davidson Stephens, of the United Methodist faith, and was preceded in death by one son, John Robert Yeargain.

Survivors include her husband, Calvin Yeargain; one son, Charles Wayne Yeargain of Summerville, S.C.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Graveside services and burial were at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 13, at the Kendall cemetery near Hartman with Pastor Tammy Jo Teltow officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.

Tamara Jo Naegle

Tamara Jo Naegle, 47, of New Blaine died Sunday, Dec. 5, 2010, at Paris Health and Rehab.

She was a native of Oklahoma City, Okla., graduate of Scranton High School, and attended the Assembly of God Church at Paris.

She is survived by one daughter, Tori Naegle of Paris; one son, Derek Naegle of Ozark; parents, Jack and Shirley Kremer of New Blaine; one sister, Ronda Schneider of New Blaine; one brother, Jake Kremer of Scranton; and two grandchildren, Reci Cross of Paris and Lucy Naegle of Ozark.

Crematory arrangements were under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
