Judge William S. Rader

Judge William S. Rader died Aug. 29, 2010.

He was born in 1921, the son of the late Dr. and Mrs. William S. Rader of Broken Bow, Okla. The family moved to Clarksville in 1936, where he attended school and graduated from the University of the Ozarks.

He served in the Army during World War II and was stationed in Australia, New Zealand and Japan. He taught English in Japan and served as a directional finder during the war. He was editor of the Arkansas Gazette covering the courts. He attended the University of Arkansas School of Law in Fayetteville, where he graduated with a juris doctorate degree.

In 1959, he moved to Cape Girardeau, Mo., where he started the Rader and Grimm law practice with Judge Stanley A. Grimm. He practiced law until 1980 and became an associate circuit judge until 1990. After retirement he served as a senior judge in various counties.

Judge Rader was an honorary life elder in the Christian Church (Disciple of Christ) in Cape Girardeau, Mo., on the board of the Salvation Army, a member of Kiwanis, Toastmasters, Lions Club and Pi Kappa Alpha alumnus.

Survivors include his wife, Birdie Rader; two daughters, Jane Rader DeBoe and husband, Tom, of Boca Raton, Fla., and Beth Hennessey and husband, Chris, of Grand Rapids, Mich.; two sisters, Katherine Garrett and Helen Fulton, both of Clarksville; two grandchildren, William S. DeBoe and wife, April, of Delray Beach, Fla., and William Curran Hennessey of Grand Rapids, Mich.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church or the University of the Ozarks in Clarksville.

Michael Wayne Duncan

Michael Wayne Duncan, 54, of London died Friday, Sept. 17, 2010, at his home.

A native of Sacramento, Calif., he was a son of the late Johnnie Bell Skidgel, Marine veteran of the Vietnam War, attended Hedgeway Church, and owner of Mike's Upholstery.

He is survived by two daughters, Heather Foster of London and Jennifer Duncan of Clarksville; father, Thomas Skidgel of Clarksville; four sisters, Linda Kimbriel of Montgomery, Ala., Leesa Skidgel of London, Janice Mosley of Carson City, Nev., and Phyllis Ellis of Rawlins, Wyo.; four brothers, Richard Duncan of London, Jimmy Duncan of Oakdale, Calif., Terry Skidgel of Clarksville, and Thomas Skidgel of Rawlins, Wyo.; four grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside services and burial will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 24, at the Shoptaw cemetery at London with Rev. David Zeiler officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Michael A. Duncan, Ashley Duncan, Jake Duncan, Aaron Skidgel, Heath Rubel, Jeff Thompson, Bubba Noyes, and Doug Foster.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 23, at Hardwicke Funeral Home.

Orilla Spitler

Orilla “Dinah” Spitler, 85, a long time resident of Hartman, Arkansas passed away Saturday, September 18, 2010, at Circle of Life in Springdale. She was born September 3, 1925, in Hartman, the daughter of Hellen and James Perry Harris.

She had resided at Legacy Village in Bentonville for the past year and a half.

Dinah was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who loved spending time with family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Edmun; her parents; her brother, Harlan; and sisters, Agnes and Artie.

She is survived by five daughters and their husbands, Norma Jean and Dan Lilze of Fayetteville, AR, Judie and Creig Krissman of Lillington, NC, Tina and Wes Wallace of Rogers, AR, Janet and Michael Evans of Petaluma, CA, and Tammy and Brian Clinton of Clarksville, AR; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Marcella Self of Coal Hill, AR; one brother, J.P. Harris of Sacramento, CA; and many friends and neighbors.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday Sept. 24, 2010, at West Mount Zion cemetery in Hartman, AR under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.

Honorary pallbearers will be grandsons, Danny Lilze, Todd Lilze, Brad Krissman, and Ben Wallace.

Memorials may be made in honor of Dinah Spitler to Circle of Life, 901 Jones Road, Springdale, AR 72762.

Wayne R. Pitts

Wayne R. Pitts, 58, of London died Thursday, Sept. 16, 2010, at his home.

He was a native of Tacoma, Wash., son of the late Harold and Betty June Overbey Pitts, retired carpenter, member of Flat Rock Baptist Church, and preceded in death by one son, David Pitts.

He is survived by one daughter, Stormy Pitts of London; one stepson, Victor Aldridge of Lamar; three sisters, Betty Hays of Apache Junction, Ariz., Wanda Stutzman of Cloud Land, Ga., and Jennifer Dunn of Hot Springs; one brother, Dean Pitts of Van Buren; three grandchildren, Trevor Pitts, Trinity Lee and Danille Lee; and three step grandchildren, Zaxton, Taylor and Vaden Aldridge.

A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 22, at the Flat Rock Community Center with Rev. Mike West officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.

Willard H. Epperson

Willard Harold (Jack) Epperson, 88, of Hartman died Sunday, Sept. 19, 2010, at his home.

He was a son of the late Willie Cecil and Myrtle Elizabeth Farley Epperson, native of the Montana Community, carpenter, member of the Fernwood Assembly of God Church, World War II United States Navy veteran of Pearl Harbor, 32nd degree Mason, and was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.

Survivors are his wife, Margaret R. Foster Epperson; one daughter, Deloris Acord of Springfield, Mo.; one son, Cecil Owen Epperson of Hartman; two brothers, Willie Cecil (Bill) Epperson Jr. of San Diego, Calif., and Bennie F. (Dub) Epperson of Ozark; four grandchildren, Harold Abercrombie, Renae Acord, Rebecca Thomas, and Angela Carter; and three great-grandchildren, Brandon Gattis, Skylar Carter and Mika Carter.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 23, at Fernwood Assembly of God Church with Rev. Glendal Black and Rev. Eddie Birdsong officiating.

Burial will be in West Mount Zion cemetery near Hartman under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.

Active pallbearers will be Wayne Acord, Carl Westover, Chris Black, Donald Black, Russell Sutter, and Gerald Imhauser.

Honorary pallbearers will be Donald Ragsdale, David Handley and Jammie Epperson.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 22, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home.

Albert E. Reynolds

Albert E. Reynolds, 94, of Lamar died Thursday, Jan. 28, 2010, at Russellville.

He was a native of Johnson County, retired logger, and preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Reynolds.

Survivors include three sons, David Reynolds and wife, Janie, of Clarksville, Steven Reynolds and wife, Bridgett, of Lamar, and Dewayne Reynolds of Knoxville; and three grandchildren, Mason, Ashton and Kinlie Reynolds.

Funeral was at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 1, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Don Alexander officiating.

The body was cremated.

Coni Faye Anderson

Coni Faye Dhabalt Anderson, 65, died Thursday, Jan. 28, 2010, in Clarksville.

She was born in Moline, Ill., to Jerry and Lois Dhabalt.

Survivors include her husband, Kenneth Anderson; one son, Jeff Teuscher and wife, Robin, of Marquette Heights, Ill.; one daughter, Jennifer Teuscher of Lisle, Ill.; one stepdaughter, Marvel Anderson and husband, Dave, of Clarksville; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Denny Dhabalt, Mr. and Mrs. Dick Dhabalt, and Mr. and Mrs. Larry Dhabalt, all of Illinois; five granddaughters; two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral will be Wednesday, Feb. 3, in Illinois. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
