Mindy Fay Smith
Mindy Fay Smith, 4, of 1507 East Jackson Street, Macomb, passed away at 11 p.m. Friday, September 24, 2010 at her residence.
She was born on June 5, 2006 in Canton, Illlinois to Charles and Dendy Wardlaw Smith.
She is survived by her parents of Macomb; one sister, Breanna Tangmen of Canton; maternal grandparents, Charles and Nancy Wardlaw of Easley, South Carolina; Paternal grandparents, Charles and Helen Smith of Cuba and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Mindy lived in Macomb since 2007 and was a student at Pact pre-school. She attended Sunday School at the Church of the Nazerene in Macomb.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, September 30, 2010 at Macomb Church of the Nazerene with Reverend Judy Davenport officiating. There will be no visitation. Cremation rites have been accorded.
Memorials may be made to the Church of the Nazerene.

Lucille V. Terry
Lucille V. Terry, 85, of 175 East Sycamore Street, Lewistown, formerly of Dallas City, Blandinsville and Macomb, passed away at 1:10 a.m. Thursday, September 23, 2010 at Prairie View Care Center in Lewistown.
She was born on February 8, 1925 in Blandinsville to Raymond and Fronie Britton Fisher. She married
Wilbur Terry on February 12, 1943. He preceded her in death on July 27, 1972.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Diane Bissell and one brother, Dean Fisher.
She is survived by one son, Alan (Patricia) Terry of Casper, Wyoming; four grandchildren, Matthew and Joshua Terry both of Casper, Wyoming and Shanon Hanson and Shane Bissell, both of Florida; eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Everett Fisher of Macomb; one sister-in-law, Dorothy Thompson of Springfield and several nieces and nephews.
Lucille lived most of her life in Dallas City. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Macomb.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, September 27, 2010 at the First Baptist Church in Macomb with Reverend Wally Holt officiating. There will be no visitation. Cremation rites have been accorded. Burial of ashes will be in the Harris cemetery near Dallas City at a later date.
Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church.

Burley D. Allen
Burley D. Allen, 99, of Galesburg, formerly of Adair, passed away at 4:17 a.m. Saturday, September 18, 2010 at Seminary Manor in Galesburg.
He was born October 17, 1910 in McDonough County, Illinois to Roy and Cora Grimm Allen. He married
Beulah Shannon January 1, 1932. She preceded him in death on August 14, 1951.. He later married
Johanna Green Moss on December 25, 1955. She also preceded him in death on June 19, 1993.
He was also preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Bayne and Bill Allen and three sisters, Beulah Russell, Bernita Branson and Bernice McCormick.
He is survived by one daughter, Barbara (Jack) Olson of Galesburg; one son, Dick (Pat) Allen of Galesburg; one step-daughter, Sharon Hall of Macomb; five grandchildren, several great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Bernard Allen of Adair and one sister, Beatrice (Ralph) Farr of Table Grove.
Burley lived his whole life in McDonough County where he farmed all of his life before moving to Galesburg in 2005 after his health failed.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 21, 2010 at Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home in Macomb with Reverend Marilyn Anell officiating. Burial will be held at Oakwood cemetery in Macomb. Visitation will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Madelyn Carmack Olson
Madelyn Carmack Olson, age 83, of rural Macomb, Illinois, died at 7:13 a.m. on Wednesday, September 15, 2010 at the Wesley Village Health Care Center in Macomb.She was born on January 11, 1927 in rural Colchester, Illinois the daughter of Charles and Iris Waymack Carmack. She married
William Olson on January 29, 1949. He preceded her in death on May 17, 1979.
She is survived by 2 sisters Barbara Horton of Macomb, and Marlene Buchholz of Macomb, 1 brother Roger Carmack of Macomb, 6 nieces Marlene Horton, Debbie Sue Carmack, Linda Kay Carmack McGrew, Melinda Sue Foxall Dodson, Judy Shryack Frakes, and Leanna Petty, 9 nephews Mike Buchholz, Terry Buchholz, Jerry Buchholz, Randy Carmack, Danny Carmack, Chad Michael Faxon, Mark Carmack, Steve Carmack, and Jeff Foxall, several great nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 brothers Dean Carmack and Donnie Carmack, 2 sisters Pat Shryack, and Carol Sue Wagnor, and 1 niece Christine Shryack Faxon.
Madelyn worked many years as a farm wife with her husband Bill, she later was the head cook at the Elms Nursing Home in Macomb for several years before her retirement. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Macomb.
Graveside funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 18, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at the Good Hope cemetery in Good Hope, Illinois. Rev. Randell Whitmire will officiate. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, McDonough County Animal Shelter, or the MDH Hospice Program. William Franklin Sloan, Jr.
William Franklin Sloan, Jr., 88, of 1707 North 12th Street, Quincy, formerly of Plymouth and Colchester, passed away at 8:02 a.m. Monday, September 13, 2010 at Blessing Hospital in Quincy.
He was born on January 9, 1922 in Hunnington Beach, California to William F. and Jenny Brewer Sloan, Sr., one of ten siblings. He married
Mildred Carrier on April 18, 1980 in Las Vegas. She survives.
Also surviving are one step-son, Paul (Carolyn) Olson; one step-daughter, Sandra (Charles) Atwater; several step-grandchildren; several step-great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents and nine brothers and sisters.
He was employed with TWR Corporation of San Diego, California. He served in the US Navy and was a veteran of World War II. After his retirement, he and Mildred lived in rural Plymouth and Colchester areas. His residence at the time of his death was the Illinois Veteran’s Home in Quincy.
He was a life member of the NRA, a Shriner and a member of the American Legion.
He was of Protestant faith.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 18, 2010 at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Macomb with Reverend Jim Richardson officiating with full military rites being conducted by the Macomb American Legion and Macomb VFW. There will be no visitation. Cremation rites have been accorded.
Memorials may be made to the Bethel Baptist Church south of Colchester.
Lloyd Asbell
Lloyd Asbell, age 74, of Macomb passed away at 5:58p.m. on Sunday, September 12, 2010 at McDonough District Hospital in Macomb.
He was born on October 17, 1935 in Macomb the son of Rollie and Rosies Ellis Asbell. He Married Ruth Berry Asbell on October 31, 1986. She survives.
Lloyd was a long time member of the Moose lodge in Burlington, Iowa.
A Memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 19, 2010 at the 1st Presbyterian Church in Macomb with Alice Davenport officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood cemetery at a later date.
The family requests in lieu of flowers that memorials may be made in Lloyd's memory.
