Lois M. Marshall
Lois Maude Marshall, 97, of Lamar died Dec. 30, 2007, at Countryside Manor Nursing Home.
She was a daughter of the late Harry Hastings and Pricilla Rose Mertis Karr, widow of Roy Newton Marshall, member of the Missionary Baptist Church in Chandler, Ariz., for 40-plus years, then of the Tonto Basin Bible Church, and was preceded in death by two sons, Walter L. Karr and Junior Allen Marshall; two sisters; three brothers; and five grandchildren.
She is survived by six daughters, Stella R. Appleby of Tonto Basin, Ariz., Marie Sharp of Clarksville, Juanita J. Marshall of Chandler, Ariz., Cora Jacot of Lamar, Shirley Hudgens of Ozone, and Julie A. Stevens of Jacksonville, Fla.; one son, Roy N. Marshall Jr. of Buckeye, Ariz.; 27 grandchildren; 56 great-grandchildren; and 49 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 2, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home with Rev. Amos Pledger officiating.
Burial was at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 7, in East Rest Haven cemetery in Phoenix, Ariz., under the direction of Bueler Mortuary in Chandler, Ariz.
Norman L. Chappell Sr.
Norman Lewis Chappell Sr., 86, of Clarksville died Saturday, Jan. 5, 2008, at Sparks Regional Medical Center in Fort Smith.
He was a son of the late Rufus Calvin and Winnie Lovell Chappell, native of Casa, member and deacon of Knoxville First Baptist Church where he was a past Sunday school superintendent, Army veteran of World War II, recipient of a Bronze Star, member of Bunch Walton Post No. 22 of the American Legion, was employed as a butcher for Safeway Stores for several years and as a custodian at Clarksville Junior High School for several years, and was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Harden Chappell, and one son, Lewis Chappell.
Survivors include his wife, Freda Chappell; one daughter, Lorene Thackston of Russellville; one son, Don Chappell and wife, Janie, of Clarksville; one stepdaughter, Lori Beatty of Florida; one stepson, Brian Patterson of Greenwood; one sister, Shelby Phillips of Fort Smith; one brother, Bobby Chappell of Port Charlotte, Fla.; one daughter-in-law, Marie Chappell of Iowa; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 9, at Knoxville First Baptist Church with Rev. Richard Snyder officiating.
Burial will be in Knoxville cemetery under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.

Reneč Pratt Campbell
Reneč Pratt Campbell, 49, of Clarksville died Jan. 7, 2008, at her home.
She was a native of Riverside, Calif.
Suvivors include two daughters, Tara Harris and husband, JaSon, and Amber Schwartz and husband, Chris, all of Ozark; one son, Clay Dollar of Clarksville; mother, Pruellen Pratt of Clarksville; father, Wayne Pratt of Clarksville; one sister, Cheryl Castleman of Clarksville; one brother, Mark Pratt of Clarksville; six grandchildren; one niece, Adria Pitts of Clarksville; and one nephew, Skyler Pratt of Clarksville.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 10, at Hardwicke Funeral Chapel with burial in Mt. Vernon cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Ronnie Nichols, Mike Patterson, Don White, Lavon Owens, Staylon Einert and Standen Einert.
Honorary pallbearers will be Rich Little and Mark Walton.

Sidola Jones-Wade
Sidola Jones-Wade, 87, of Scranton, Arkansas, died Friday, January 4, 2008. She was a homemaker, a member of The Methodist Church, Scranton, enjoyed quilting, cooking and dancing. Sidola was preceded in death by her parents, James Sidney and Elizabeth "Lizzie" (Weatherton) Davis, her two husbands, Herman Jones and Bill Wade, two brothers, Miles and Garland Davis, and one grandson, Michael Jones.

Wanda E. Yandell
Wanda Edwards Yandell, 86, of Fayetteville, died Saturday, Jan. 5, 2008, in Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville.
A native of Coal Hill, she was a daughter of the late Dewey and Georgia Gage Edwards, widow of Huell Yandell, member of Hays Chapel Methodist Church, and preceded in death by one daughter, Sharon Knoblaugh.
She is survived by one son, Brian Yandell and wife, Bobby Jean, of Fayetteville; one sister, Maudine Davenport of Ozark; one brother, George Edwards and wife, Marilyn, of Fayetteville; one son-in-law, Carlton Knoblaugh of New Orleans, La.; four grandchildren, Dennis Knoblaugh and wife, Cheryl, of Gulfport, Miss., Kathy Knoblaugh of New Orleans, Kay Yandell and husband, Sean, of Madison, Wis., and Jay Yandell and wife, Brenda, of Fayetteville; and three great-grandchildren, Tucker Yandell, Preston Yandell and Diana Yandell-Teuton.
Graveside services and burial will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 10, at Coal Hill cemetery under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Coleman Askins
Coleman Askins, 64, of Ozark died Saturday, Sept. 8, 2007, in Ozark.
He was a retired logger and Baptist.
Survivors are two daughters, Betsy Richardson of New Blaine and Tammy Dawson of Hunt; five sisters, Ann Grigsby, Welline Grigsby, Louise Arbaugh, and Sue Stepp, all of Hartman, and Virginia Hodge of Catalpa; three brothers, Billy Askins of Ozark and Glenn Askins and Varl Askins, both of Clarksville; and three grandchildren.
Graveside services and burial were at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 11, at Liberty Hill cemetery at Hunt under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home of Ozark.
Active pallbearers were Ricky Grigsby, Butch Grigsby, James Jones, Frankie Jones, Dustin Haffelder, Daniel Haffelder and James Lee Jones.

Donnie W. Johnson
Donnie W. Johnson, 47, of Washington died Friday, Sept. 7, 2007, at Medical Park Hospital in Hope.
He was the wrecker driver for 67 Speedway, a self-employed mechanic and welder, and was preceded in death by his father, Chuck Johnson.
Survivors include five sons, Jason Johnson of Belding, Mich., Daniel Johnson of Washington, Clayton Johnson of Clarksville, Nelson Fox of Hope and Chad Fox of Prescott; three daughters, Christy Johnson of Belding, Mich., Kayla Johnson of Clarksville and Amanda Fathrree of Tennessee; mother, Judy McCannon and Russell of Santa Fe, Texas; two brothers, Todd Ramsey and Rodney Ramsey, both of Baycliff, Texas; two sisters, Kathy Ann Marlow of Concho, Ariz., and Brenda Matthews of Michigan; three grandchildren; and special friend, Paula Boyette Fox of Washington.
Graveside services and burial were at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 11, at the Holman cemetery north of Lamar. Arrangements were under the direction of Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home of Hope.
Emma Bowie
Emma Bowie, 88, former resident of Clarksville, died Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2007, in Ozark.
A native of the Wattensaw Community in Lonoke County, she was a daughter of the late Willie Flynt and Lola Flynt Deese, widow of Billy Bowie, former resident of Augusta, graduate of Beebe High School and the University of Central Arkansas at Conway, retired sixth grade teacher from Augusta Public Schools, member of First Baptist Church of Augusta, charter member of Cherry Street Baptist Church in Clarksville, and was preceded in death by her stepfather, W. H. Deese; three stepbrothers, C. W. Deese, Rev. Wilson Deese, and Dr. Richard (Pud) Deese; and one stepsister, Oda Roush.
Survivors include one son, Arthur Bowie of Bentonville; one daughter, Connie Limbird of Knoxville; two grandchildren, Joseph Bowie and Happy Limbird; three brothers, Alvin Flynt of Bentonville, Dr. Clayton Flynt of Camden and Dr. William Flynt of Fayetteville; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A family graveside service and burial were at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 4, at Augusta Memorial Park. A memorial service was held at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 5, at Rhodes Funeral Home in Augusta with Rev. Ladell Bailey officiating.
A local memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 15, at Cherry Street Baptist Church in Clarksville with Rev. Rusty Bushong officiating.
