Bobby Leon Lewis

Bobby Leon Lewis, 68, of Clarksville died Friday, June 15, 2007.

He was a retired service manager for several dealerships and cattle farmer, member of Stillwell Bible Baptist Church and Cattlemen's Association, served eight years in the National Guard, native of Clarksville, and son of the late Elmer and Louise Newton Lewis.

He is survived by his wife, Fayola Bean Lewis; one daughter, Lisa Gail Hampton and husband, James, of Coal Hill; one son, Bobby Kent Lewis and wife, Yvonne, of Hartman; one stepson, Alan Pratt and wife, Melissa, of Cabot; one stepdaughter, Linda Dickerson and husband, Gary, of Gurdon; one granddaughter, Whitney Lewis; and four step grandchildren, Sean Pratt and wife, Callie, of Clarksville, Brittany Pratt of Conway; and Kody Dickerson and Kaitlyn Dickerson, both of Gurdon.

Funeral was at 10 a.m. Monday, June 18, at Stillwell Bible Baptist Church with Rev. Jim Goodman and Rev. Steve Askins officiating.

Burial was in Stillwell cemetery under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Dayne Phillips, Bobby Dayne Phillips, Bruce Phillips, Albert Lewis, Bob Bean, and Don Cater.

Memorials may be made to Stillwell Bible Baptist Church Building Fund.

Carolyn B. Crosby

Carolyn B. Crosby, 56, of Paris died Sunday, June 17, 2007, at Paris Health and Rehabilitation.

She was a native of Clarksville, daughter of the late Ollie Leeds, and was preceded in death by one brother, George Dorsett.

Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Stacie and Matt Elder of Ozark; one son, Doug Wheelis of Ozark; three sisters, Susan Dorsett of Ozark, Nalma Taylor of Clarksville, and Lynne Crouch of Coal Hill; three brothers, Charlie Dunlap and Mike Leeds, both of Clarksville, Leslie Dunalp of Russellville, Wade Dunlap of Lamar, James Flint of Hartman, and Billy Flint of Cecil; and three grandchildren, Arizona Wheelis, Austin Wheelis and Fisher Elder, all of Ozark.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 20, at Hedgeway Church with Rev. Don Alexander officiating.

Burial will be in Union Grove cemetery under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Matt Elder, Archie Dorsett, Charlie Dunlap, Leslie Dunlap, Wade Dunlap, Billy Flint, James Flint, Mike Leeds, and Stonie Crouch.

Jack C. Bittle

Jack C. Bittle, 59, of Ozark died Sunday, June 10, 2007, at his home.

He was a son of the late William and Martha Bertha Dunn Bittle, native of Shiloh, security guard at Booneville, U. S. Army veteran, and was preceded in death by two sisters.

Survivors include his wife, Martha Bly Bittle; one daughter, LaNora Alexander; five sons, Austin, Chris, and Charles Bittle, all of Clarksville, Anthony Bittle of Coal Hill, and Terry Combs of Ozark; one brother, Johnny Bittle of Greers Ferry; and nine grandchildren.

The body was cremated. Arrangements were under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home of Ozark.

Jesse Dale Butts

Jesse Dale Butts, 81, of Yuma, Ariz., died Thursday, June 14, 2007, at Yuma Regional Medical Center.

He was a native of Boston, son of the late Robert Ed and Mary Anna Goodnight Butts, former resident of Redding, Calif., Navy veteran, Baptist, truck driver, member of Mulberry Lodge No. 272, and was preceded in death by one son, Larry Butts; one brother, Harvey Butts; and one sister, Ernestine Patterson.

He is survived by one sister, Macel Jones and husband, Melvin, of Adrian, Mo.

Graveside services and burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 20, at Boston cemetery with Rev. Amos Pledger officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy Patterson, Matt Patterson, Steve Immel, Ray Patterson, Clyde Patterson and Selba G. Patterson.

Jimmie Dee McKown

Jimmie Dee McKown, 69, of Tulsa, Okla., formerly of Johnson County, died Tuesday, June 12, 2007, at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Okla.

He was a native of Greenwood, son of Charles T. and Sabre Madge Perry McKown, member of the Masonic Lodge, 32nd degree Mason, and was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma Goodin McKown.

Funeral was Friday, June 15, at Floral Haven Funeral Chapel with Rev. Joe Goodin officiating. Burial was in Floral Haven Memorial Gardens.

Memorials may be made to the Shriner Hospitals for Crippled Children.

Kenneth L. Cowan

Kenneth L. Cowan, 77, of Fayetteville died Tuesday, June 12, 2007, at Washington Regional Medical

Center in Fayetteville.

A native of the Harmony Community, he was a son of the late Troy and Sadie Hanshew Cowan, preceded in death by his first wife, Erma Jean Cowan, retired Heckathorn Construction Company employee, Baptist, and U. S. Navy veteran of the Korean War.

Survivors include his wife, Jessie Cowan; one son, Shane Cowan of Hindsville; four daughters, Barbara French and Brenda Burgess, both of Bentonville, Nancy Love of Rogers, and Velda Sturdivant of Fayetteville; two stepsons, Bobby Baucom of Washburn, Mo., and Jody Baucom of Little Rock; one stepdaughter, Danys Peel of White Hall; two sisters, Alyene Shackelford of Greenland and Shirley Burton of Memphis, Tenn.; 18 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Funeral was at 2 p.m. Friday, June 15, at Moore's Chapel in Fayetteville with burial in Baptist Ford cemetery.

Louise M. Turner

Louise Mallie Turner, 95, of Clarksville died Saturday, June 16, 2007.

She was a Baptist and was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Charlie Porter Bean; husband, Delbert J. Turner Sr.; one son, Robert Henry Turner; three sisters, Marie Selby, Hazel Taylor and Easter Woodard, and two brothers, Heartsill Bean and Clarence Bean Jr.

She is survived by two daughters, Anna Wagner and husband, Ronnie, of Clarksville and Mary Holland and husband, Lonnie, of Hagarville; one son, D. J. Turner and wife, Rueline, of Clarksville; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and three stepchildren.

Funeral was at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 19, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Robbie Jackson officiating. Burial was in Stillwell cemetery.

Pallbearers were V. H. Taylor, Billy Taylor, Bobby Bean, Dennis Bean, Jimmy Bean, and Michael Bean.

Memorials may be made to the East Mt. Zion Baptist Church.

Maggie Yerton

Maggie Yerton, 84, of Van Buren died Tuesday, June 12, 2007, in Charleston.

She was a native of Winslow, former resident of Fayetteville, daughter of Harrison (Dick) and Rosa Chance Harvey, widow of Albert C. Yerton, Pentecostal, and was preceded in death by two brothers, Reuben Harvey and Beryl Harvey.

Survivors include two daughters, Judy Gregory and husband, Larry, and Sharon Upton and husband, Gary, all of Clarksville; two sons, Dale Yerton and wife, Evelyn, of Van Buren and Randall Yerton of Fayetteville; four sisters, Esther Sims of Savoy, Florella Yerton of Lowell, Lona Carney of Purdy, Mo., and Norma Holland of Lincoln; two brothers, Ralph Harvey of Monett, Mo., and Kenneth Harvey of Fayetteville; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral was at 2 p.m. Friday, June 15, at White Rock Light of Faith Church in Fayetteville with Rev. Dale Yerton and Rev. Kemp Holden officiating.

Burial was in Coyle cemetery near Winslow under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home of Charleston.

Pallbearers were Geoff Gregory, Chris Upton, Andrew Yerton, Vince Farrell, Chad Salazar, and Lindell Yerton.
