Duell R. Evans

Duell R. Evans, 78, of Hartman died Thursday, April 20, 2000, at St. Edward Mercy Medical Center.

A native of Hartman, he was a 1939 graduate of Hartman High School, retired rural mail carrier, charter member and deacon of Hartman Baptist Church, veteran of World War II, and former employee of Hardwicke Funeral Home.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Frances Self Evans; two daughters, Rita Lange and Elaine Roberts, both of Hartman; one son, David Evans of Hartman; one sister, Johnnie Ruth Freeman of New York; one brother, Fred Evans of Piney View, W. Va.; and five grandchildren, Dana Flint, Roy Roberts, Angie Lange, Aaron Lange, and Chris Covey, all of Hartman.

Funeral was at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 22, at Hardwicke Funeral Chapel with Rev. Clyde Vire officiating. Burial was in West Mount Zion cemetery.

Active pallbearers were Jimmy Cowell, Floyd Hern, Amos Reeves, Tom Fowler, Leo Chrisman, and Bob Rofkahr.

Honorary pallbearers were Dr. Scott Kuykendall, Phillip Cook, Ray Johnson, Roy Roberts, Chris Covey, Aaron Lange, Jeffery Robert Bartlett, and Jacob Roberts.

Mrs. Elizabeth Cornett

Mrs. Elizabeth (Beth) Cornett, 35, of Clarksville, a native of Chicago, Ill., died Saturday, April 22, 2000, at St. Edward Mercy Medical Center in Fort Smith.

Survivors include her husband, Billy C. Cornett; one daughter, Brittany Marie Cornett of the home; one son, Scotty Baker of the home; parents, Wilma and John Helmert of Clarksville; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Pam and Gary Pruett and Penny and Billy Carter, all of Clarksville; five brothers and three sisters-in-law, Bob Jr. and Tammi Bartlett of Coppell, Texas, Arthur and Kim Kotch of Brunswick, Maine, Matthew and Sheila Kotch, Brian Mann, and Tom Crowder, all of Clarksville; and grandmother, Lillian Howerton of Clarksville.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 30, at Hardwicke Funeral Chapel with Rev. Jim Goodman officiating. The body was cremated.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Mrs. Erma Lee Pitts

Mrs. Erma Lee Pitts, 79, of Clarksville died Friday, April 21, 2000, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.

She was a native of the Lone Pine Community, daughter of the late Hugh M. and Anna Laura Mickel Yandell, widow of Sherman Pitts, member of Stillwell Bible Baptist Church, and was preceded in death by one daughter, Ann Schmatjen.

She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Beverly Dianne and Vester Kimbrel of Rogers; six sons and five daughters-in-law, Robert and Kathy Pitts, Lloyd and Rhonda Pitts, and Hugh Dale Pitts, all of Clarksville, Murl and Melba Pitts of Casa, Randall and Betty Pitts of Russellville, and Neal and Sheila Pitts of Garfield; five brothers, Kenneth Yandell of Everett, Wash., Argus Yandell and Carl Dean Yandell, both of Coos Bay, Ore., Archie Yandell of Clarksville, and Tommy Yandell of Rockford, Ill.; and 20 grandchildren.

Funeral was at 10 a.m. Monday, April 24, at Hardwicke Funeral Chapel with Rev. Robbie Jackson officiating. Burial was in Bethlehem cemetery.

Pallbearers were Rodney Pitts, Bobby Dale Pitts, Stephen Craig Pitts, Jeremy Pitts, Kenny Don Pitts, Dale Dwayne Pitts, Joshua Pitts, and Nathan Pitts.

Mrs. Estella Taylor

Mrs. Estella Taylor, 87, of Clarksville died Saturday, April 22, 2000, at her home.

A native of Colorado City, Texas, she was a daughter of the late Warren Abner and Blanche Crump Rice, member of the First Presbyterian Church, and was preceded in death by two sisters and four brothers.

Survivors include her husband, Alva Taylor; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral was at 2 p.m. Monday, April 24, at Hardwicke Funeral Chapel with Rev. Lance Jones officiating. Burial was in Mt. Airy cemetery.

Pallbearers were Troy Taylor, Ron Taylor, Tommy Ford, Bill Hadley, Donald Clark, and Donnie Rice.

Mrs. Floy M. Fields

Mrs. Floy M. Fields, 82, of Clarksville died Saturday, April 22, 2000, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.

A native of Casa, she was a daughter of the late Albert and Lavenia Baskin Harrison, widow of James Robert Fields, member of Clarksville Church of Christ, graduate of Casa High School and St. Margaret's School of Nursing in Kansas City, Kan., a nurse in the Women's Air Corps during World War II and had been in the nursing profession for 40-plus years.

She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Jim Lewis of Clarksville; one son, John Fields of Little Rock; three brothers, Dr. Vale Harrison and Dr. Roy Harrison, both of Little Rock, and John Harrison of New Waverly, Texas; two grandsons, Lindsey Lewis and wife, Sarah, of Conway and Preston Lewis of Clarksville.

Funeral was at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 25, at the Church of Christ in Ozark with John Brasseaux officiating.

Burial was in Highland cemetery in Ozark under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.

Active pallbearers were Bill Bice, Robert Agee, C. H. Kuykendall, Lonnie Turner, Flynn Kinman, and Jim Clark.

Honorary pallbearer was Gene Walden.

Mrs. Hettie W. Gibson

Mrs. Hettie Witt Gibson, 93, of London died Friday, April 21, 2000, at AMI St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville.

She was a native of London, daughter of the late John Newton and Martha Reed Witt, widow of John W. Gibson, farmer, peach grower, member of the London Assembly of God Church for 70-plus years, and was preceded in death by one daughter; four brothers, Guy Witt, Everett Witt, Allison Witt, and Ernest Witt; and five sisters, Mary Witt, Minnie Wheeler, Ruth Toczak, Annice Rachel and Lydia Hudlow.

She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Jim Ed and Mary Kay Gibson of London; two daughters, Johna G. Roedenbeck of London and Ruth E. Smith of Wichita, Kan.; six grandchildren, Jeff Gibson and John Gibson, both of London, Connie McCoin of Henderson, Nev., Karen Thurman of Wichita, Kan., Randy Smith of Augusta, Kan., and Sharon Forshee of Los Angeles, Calif.; 17 great-grandchildren, Amber Gibson, Ashley Gibson, Allison Gibson, Clayton Seely, John Forshee, Cody Forshee, John Daffron, Julie McCoin, Corby McCoin, Luke McCoin, Derek Thurman, Dustin Thurman, Brittany Thurman, Sarah Smith, Seth Smith, Steven Smith, and Jacob Smith; one great-great-grandchild, Morgan Daffron; one sister-in-law, Audrey Witt; and numerous nephews and nieces including Bettye Rachel and Opal Parnell.

Funeral was at 2 p.m. Monday, April 24, at the London Assembly of God Church with Rev. Sam Witt and Rev. Jerry Schlinker officiating.

Burial was in Rest Haven Memorial Park under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service of Russellville.

Active pallbearers were Eddie Price, Gaylon Parnell, Dennis Lowe, Mike Whittenburg, Tom Manskar, and Wayne Reed.

Honorary pallbearers were John Henry Miller, James R. Ford, R. J. Cochran, Don Estep, Wayne Bradley, and Joe Witt.

Mrs. Mae Blanscet

Mrs. Mae Blanscet, 91, of Pampa, Texas, sister of Mrs. Oma Jaggers of Clarksville, died Friday, April 14, 2000, in Pampa, Texas.

She was a native of Munday, Texas, daughter of the late Erastus and Lantie Mae Sosebee, widow of Velmer W. Blanscet, and a member of Highland Baptist Church of Pampa, Texas.

She is survived by one son, Roy Blanscet of Pampa, Texas; one other sister, Mrs. Sylvia Allred of Mulberry; two grandsons, Gary Blanscet and Glen Blanscet, both of Carrollton, Texas; five great-grandchildren, Matthew Blanscet, Jonathan Blanscet, Jenna Blanscet, Zachary Blanscet, and Mark Blanscet, all of Carrollton, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral was at 2 p.m. Monday, April 17, at Smith Mortuary Chapel in Charleston with Glen Blanscet and Gary Blanscet officiating. Burial was at Hickory Ridge cemetery near Lavaca.

Active pallbearers were Harrison Allred, Harold Blanscet Jr., Harold Sosebee, Relus Sosebee, Don Allen Sosebee, and G. C. Smithson.

Honorary pallbearers were J. L. Jaggers, Bobby Blanscet, and Roland Blanscet.
