John William "Bill" Ellis

John William "Bill" Ellis, 89, of Knoxville, formerly of Avon, passed away at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at OSF St. Mary’s Hospital in Galesburg.

He was born on November 14, 1925 in Macomb to Roscoe and Lillian Gamage Ellis. He married Erma Jean Heaney at the Little Brown Church in the Vale in Nashua, Iowa on December 23, 1950. She passed away on March 29, 2015.

He was also preceded in death by his parents.

Bill is survived by one son, John (Sandy) Ellis of Avon; one daughter, Karen (Jim) Smith of Adair; five grandchildren, Missy Smith Lillie, Tifanie (Dan) Self, Amanda Smith, Sarah (Steve) Koss and Lindsey (Eric) Rogers; ten great-grandchildren, Tayor Colston, Whitney Koss, Cooper Self, Tanner Reneau, William Koss, Wyatt Self, Cameron Lillie, Ellis Rogers, Adrienne Rogers and Abel Rogers; one twin brother, James Robert (Imogene) Ellis of Macomb and several nieces and nephews.

Bill lived his early life in Macomb. He farmed in Cameron, Good Hope and Avon before retiring in 2004. He was the Greenbush Township Clerk in Warren County for 8 years.

He was an Army veteran serving during World War II.

John enjoyed collecting John Deere Antique tractors.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 3, 2015 at Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home in Macomb with Reverend Gary Elg officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Burial will be in Oakwood cemetery in Macomb.

Memorials may be made to the Avon Fire Department.

Randall Keith Jones

Randall Keith Jones, age 65, of 640 Memorial Drive, Macomb, Illinois, passed away at 7:40 a.m. on Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at his home.

He was born on September 23, 1949 in Macomb, Illinois son of Keith and Elaine McCreight Jones. He married Kelley Wilkinson in Macomb on April 23, 2005.

He is survived his wife Kelley, two sons Evan Jones and Ian Jones both of San Jose, California, one stepdaughter Erica VanFleet of Macomb, one brother Scott (Georgia) Jones of Industry, Illinois and one sister Polly Jones of Vista, California. He was preceded in death by his parents one brother Rick Jones, one sister in infancy, and one nephew Alex Jones.

Randy lived most all his life in the Industry area, before moving to Macomb in 2005. He had attended Southern Illinois University majoring in Airport Management. Randy had been a farmer from 1976 until the present. He was a pilot and flew for Cobb Aviation in Macomb from 1978 to 1998, the last 15 years he was a pilot for the State of Illinois, he retired in 2013. Randy had also served on the Village of Industry Board for 26 years as Trustee and President.

Private family graveside services were held at the Industry cemetery. There will be no visitation. A Celebration of Randy’s Life will be held at the Macomb Municipal Airport on Friday, July 3, 2015 from 4:00p.m. until 7:00p.m. Memorials may be made to MDH Home Health or to the MDH Hospice Program . Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home in Macomb is in charge of arrangements.

Sarah Simone White

Sarah Simone White, age 48, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, passed away at 2:44 P.M. on June 20, 2015 as the result of an automobile accident near Mount Pleasant, Iowa while she was traveling to visit her parents.

She was born in 1967 in Robbinsdale, Minnesota the daughter of Wm F. and Elizabeth Ann Irving White.

She is survived by, and will be greatly missed by her children Autumn, Eva, Milo, and Isaiah White, parents William and Ann White of Macomb, one sister Laura (David) Stark of San Jose, California, four brothers Dr. Drake (Carol) White of Macomb, Jack (Jayne) White of Westchester, Ohio, Mark(Carolyn)White of Rochester Minnesota, Burke (Hanevy) White of Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her former husband, Milo R. Young.

She attended high school in Big Lake, Minnesota and graduated from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. She served an 18-month mission in Buenos Aires, Argentina for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She completed a Masters Degree in Social Work at the University of Minnesota Duluth. She worked with abused women for several years before moving to Sioux Falls, South Dakota where she lived since 1997. The most important thing in her life was her four children, and she was extremely proud of them, and their accomplishments. At the time of her death she was doing counseling for the Lutheran Social Services where she thoroughly enjoyed her work.

Private family graveside services will be held at the Oakwood cemetery in Macomb. First Counselor to the Bishop of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Shea Trost, will officiate. Memorials may be made for the children’s college fund in care of the Sarah White Fund at Edward Jones Investments office of Cory Clem and Don Hubner, 325 East Washington Street, Macomb, Illinois, 61455. Clugston -Tibbitts Funeral Home in Macomb is in charge of arrangements.

Charles E. Fordyce

Charles E. Fordyce, age 87, of 1200 East Grant Street, Macomb, Illinois, passed away at 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at Wesley Village Health Care Center in Macomb. He was born on August 4, 1927 in New Castle, Pennsylvania the son of William and Elizabeth Newton Fordyce. He married Mildred Helen Hay on December 12, 1947 in New Castle, Pennsylvania. She preceded him in death on February 10, 2013.

He is survived by two sons William (Patricia) Fordyce of Bolivia, North Carolina, and Richard (Janis) Fordyce of Camp Point, Illinois three daughters Joann (John) Simmons of Macomb, Carolyn (Charles)Seevers of Florissant, Missouri, and Barbara (Charles) Eickele of O’Fallon, Illinois, nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren, and one sister Lois Yost of Ravenna, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and two brothers William Fordyce and Donald Newton.

Charles served Christian Churches in the following cities Harlan, Kentucky, Williamson, West Virginia, Ellwood City, Pennsylvania, Hicksville, New York, Ivyland, Pennsylvania, Forked River, New Jersey, Womelsdorf, Pennsylvania, and Bushnell, Illinois. He had served on Mission Trips to Brazil, Thailand, Burma, Cambodia, India, Philippines, Cayman Islands and China. In all he had served for 62 years before his retirement. While in Pennsylvania he started a Children’s Ministry, Kids for Christ, in the North East neighborhoods of Philadelphia. Charles had also served in the US Navy from 1945 until the end of World War II. Charles always said that "His feet were in Philadelphia, his heart was around the world"

Funeral services will be held at the Bushnell Christian Church on Monday, June 22, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. The family will meet with friends one hour before the time of service. Bud Yoder will officiate. Burial will be at the Oakwood cemetery in Macomb. Memorials may be made to the Bushnell Christian Church, to be distributed to various missions.

John Provine

John Provine, 76, of 1300 East Grant Street, Macomb, formerly of Adair, passed away at 12:05 a.m. on Saturday, June 13, 2015 at Wesley Village Health Care Center in Macomb.

He was born on October 17, 1938 in Industry to Carl and Vena DeWitt Provine. He married Sheila Payne Pace on February 4, 1989 in Macomb. She survives.

Also surviving are three daughters, Mischelle Provine of Washington, Melanie Strode of Knoxville and Janelle Provine of Washington; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Lou Rutledge of Crawfordsville, Indiana and Pat Hughes of Harrisonburg, Virginia; two sisters-in-law, Helen Provine of Georgetown, Texas and Verla Hamm of Industry; several nieces and nephews, John (Marilyn) Provine, Patty Evans, Mary Quintana, Pete SanAgustin, Bridget (Charles) Miller, Jill Rutledge, Greg (Miriam) Provine, Jeff (Jan) Provine, Melissa (James) Henry, Amanda Crider, Don (Leah) Hughes and Denny (Mindy) Hughes and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one step-son, Walker Pace; two brothers, Ivan Provine and Eldon Provine; one sister in infancy, Martha Verjean Provine; one sister-in-law, Maria Provine.

John lived in Adair for 23 years before moving to Macomb in 2012. He was a member of the Industry United Methodist Church.

John will be remembered for his hard work and dedication to his customers and friends. He was the Operations Manager for McDonough FS Inc. He worked in the elevator, mixed fertilizer, dispatched trucks and delivered propane for 47 years before his retirement in 2003. He worked several other jobs following his retirement.

Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 17, 2015 in Industry cemetery with Reverend Steve Granadosin officiating.There will be no family visitation but friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday evening at Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home in Macomb.

Memorials may be made to MDH Hospice Program.

Betty Ruth Hodges

Betty Ruth Hodges, age 85, formerly of Macomb, Illinois passed away on May 17, 2015 in Charleston, Illinois.

She was born on April 4, 1930 in Brooklyn Township in Schuyler County, Illinois the daughter of Harry Ward and Ruth Mae Stoneking Coakley. She married Ghlee Lasswell. He preceded her in death.

She is survived by two sons Michael G. (Mari) Lasswell and Jeffrey T. Lasswell, two daughters Bonnie McDonald and Connie (Dan) Risen, several grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son Rodney P. Stoneking, great-grandson Galvin Klenzman, daughter-in-law Patty Lasswell, three brothers, Wendell, Donald and Gene, and three sisters Marjorie, Wilma, and Verna Mae.

Betty worked at Ford Hopkins as a young lady, later as a farmer’s wife, and then worked at Walmart for several years. Betty really enjoyed life on the farm, raising children and school activites. She was involved with ladies at the church and helping Ghlee on the farm. She had attended the Macomb Nazarene and the Industry Assembly of God churches.

Cremation rites have been accorded. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, May 31, 2015 at the Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home in Macomb. Reverends Jon Keck, Judy Davenport and Carrol Techau will officiate. The family will meet with friends on Sunday at the funeral home starting at 1:00 p.m. until the time of service.

The family requests in lieu of flowers that memorials may be made to Lincolnland Hospice, 1004 Health Center Drive, Suite 202, Mattoon, Illinois 61938.

Amos Perkins

Amos Elmer Perkins, 69, of Caulksville, father of Amie Perkins of Hartman, died Thursday, Sept. 3, 2009, at his home.

He was a native of Pocola, Okla., son of the late Billy and Bertha Blair Perkins, cowboy, horse-shoer, and a member of the Quarter Horse Association.

Survivors include his wife, Rita Perkins; six other daughters, Pattie Sammons of Whitesboro, Texas, Marilyn Baxter and Sheila Coker, both of Spiro, Okla., Hutch Perry and Kim Lawson, both of Keota, Okla., and Anna Atherton of Charleston; nine sons, Jeffery Perkins of Sadler, Texas, Randy Perkins of Leonard, Texas, Danny Perkins of Gunter, Texas, Terry Huff of Magazine, John Massey of Caulksville, Steve and Deon Coker, both of Antlers, Okla., Tommy Coker of Spiro, Okla., and Wayne Dix of Keota, Okla.; two sisters, Anna Rush and Esta Sanders, both of Pocola, Okla.; one brother, Howard Perkins of Pocola, Okla.; 56 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral was at 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 5, at Brotherton Funeral Home Chapel in Charleston. The body was cremated.
