Nellie A. Vinson
Nellie A. Vinson, 87, of London died Monday, Aug. 13, 2007, at Saint Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville.
She was a daughter of the late Richard Harrison and Clara Trapp Cochran, native of London, widow of Raymond C. Vinson, member of the London Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star, attended Martin Chapel Assembly of God Church, and was preceded in death by one son, Jerry D. Vinson; infant twin daughters, Carlene and Nelene Vinson; one brother, Ira (Boat) Cochran; and three sisters, Lucille Taylor, Iva Price and Mayme Smith.
She is survived by two sons, Raymond (Smiley) Vinson of London and Bud Vinson of Kenai, Alaska; two daughters, Janice Brown of London and Letsy Goza of Russellville; two brothers, R. J. (Gub) Cochran and Charles Cochran, both of London; two sisters, Anne Graham of London and Dorothy Harmon of Dover; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Graveside services and burial were at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 17, at East Point cemetery with Rev. Jerry Schlinker and a granddaughter, Cynthia Vinson, officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville.
Active pallbearers were Ray Taylor, Blackie Cossey, Jeff Brown, Jay Brown, Jerry Brown, and Ted Harmon.

Peggy Ann Warren
Peggy Ann Warren, 70, of Clarksville died Saturday, Aug. 18, 2007, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
She was a native of Utah, daughter of the late Gus and Johnnie Cales, and graduate of Santa Barbara (California) High School.
Survivors include five sons, DeWayne Warren, Anthony Warren, and Randy Warren, all of Clarksville, Edward Warren of Utah, and James Warren of Nevada; one brother, Sam Cales of Utah; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
The body was cremated.
Local arrangements were under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Wilma Ruth Carson
Wilma Ruth Carson, 76, of Fort Smith died Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2007, at a Little Rock hospital.
A daughter of the late W. R. (Snap) and Velma Alston, she was a native of Ozark, former resident of Sparkman, and was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, T. Q. (Kit) Carson.
Survivors include one son, Terry Q. Carson and wife, Janie, of Fort Smith, formerly of Johnson County; one daughter, Pam Smith and husband, Talmadge, of Fort Smith; one brother, Wallace D. (Sonny) Alston of Ozark; one sister, Melba Mershon of Fort Smith; one granddaughter, Brooke Ramsey and husband, Robert, of Cabot; one grandson, Tab Smith of Hot Springs; one step grandson, Travis Collyar and wife, Casey; and one step-great-granddaughter, Jordyn Collyar of Alma.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 16, at the First Baptist Church of Sparkman under the direction of Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home of Arkadelphia.
Allen Luther Penny Jr.
Allen Luther Penny Jr., 58, of Springdale, formerly of Clarksville, died Wednesday, May 30, 2007, at his home.
He was a native of El Paso County, Texas, son of the late Floynell (King) and Allen L. Penny Sr., served in the U. S. Army and was later employed as a truck driver for a log mill, and has resided in Springdale the past 14 years.
Survivors include two daughters, Julia Penny of Clarksville and Adria Roach and husband, Robert, of Lamar; one son, Joel Penny of Benton; one brother, Larry Penny; four grandchildren; and several aunts and uncles.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Benton County Memorial Park in Rogers.
Edna Athline Cates
Edna Athline Houston Cates, 90, died Monday, May 28, 2007, in Tulsa, Okla.
She was a daughter of the late John W. and Edna Houston, graduate of Clarksville High School, attended St. Mary's School of Nursing in Kansas City, Mo., and practiced nursing for several years prior to becoming involved in art and paintings. She was a former resident of Bella Vista.
Survivors include her husband of 70 years, William Cates; one daughter, Caren Elizabeth O'Gwin of Inola, Okla.; one grandson, Michael O'Gwin; and two great-grandsons.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday, June 8, at Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
Billy Frank Rosson
Billy Frank Rosson, 64, of Clarksville died Thursday, May 31, 2007, at his home.
He was a native of Altus, son of the late J. W. and Rae Zolliecoffer Rosson and was preceded in death by two brothers, Chuck and Johnny Rosson.
Survivors are his wife, Matilda Burgett Rosson; two daughters, Angelia Bush and husband, Wayne, of Rudy and Charity Loudon of Ozark; three sons, Kenneth Rosson and wife, Patricia, of Dyer and Joseph Rosson and wife, Vanessa, and Aaron Rosson, all of Hunt; one brother, Stan Rosson and wife, Barbara, of Ozark; sister-in-law, Ruby Rosson of Perryville; 13 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 2, at Hardwicke Funeral Chapel with Rev. Eddie Birdsong officiating. The body was cremated.
Clarence E. Becker
Clarence E. Becker, 66, of Lavaca, father of Donna Becker of Clarksville, died Sunday, May 27, 2007, at his home.
He was a native of Barling, son of the late Arthur and Bridget Greb Becker, member of the Sacred Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Barling, retired set-up man for Whirlpool and a veteran of the U. S. Army.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Carole Becker; one other daughter, Brenda Frederick of Subiaco; one son, Mark Becker of the home; seven sisters, Virginia Butler of Rudy, Bernice Stipp of Lavaca, Barbara Vandes Linden of Murray, Iowa, Gladys Hicks and Sharon Mullin, both of Medina, Ohio, Reba Wilbanks of Mulberry and Marilyn Hodges of Barling; three brothers, Bill Becker of Van Buren, Danny Becker of Lavaca and Mike Becker of Fort Smith; and one granddaughter, Angela Frederick of Subiaco.
Rosary was at 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 30, at Smith Mortuary Chapel in Charleston. Funeral was at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 31, at Sacred Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Barling with burial at Sacred Heart of Mary cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Leon Frederick, Nick Floyd, Chris Ihle, Jeremy Ihle, Patrick Schluterman, Matthew Frederick and Anthony Sharm.
Dorothy Mary Frogue
Dorothy Mary Frogue, 75, of Clarksville died Thursday, May 31, 2007.
She was a daughter of the late Charles Mac and Dovie Jane Smith Wood, widow of Ralph Eugene Frogue, member of Ministries A Flame, and was preceded in death by one brother, Roy Lee Wood.
Survivors include three daughters, Gail Martin and husband, Rickey, of Clarksville, Jennifer Cox and husband, Charles, of Jacksonville, Fla., and Angela Frogue of Yerka, Calif.; one son, Freddie Frogue of Los Angeles, Calif.; one brother, Floyde Wood of Salem, Ore.; three sisters, Willa Mae Taylor of Lamar, Bonnie Ruth Taylor of Santa Maria, Calif., and Esther Earnest of Harrison; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Monday, June 4, at Roller-Cox Funeral Chapel with Rev. Rickey Martin officiating. Burial was in Lamar cemetery.
Pallbearers were Jack Taylor, Bobby Warren, Bill Henrey, Raymond Johnson, Billy Johnson and James Hobbs.
Gellila M. Miner
Gellila Marie Miner, 79, of Selma, Calif., sister of Roger Umholtz of Lamar, died Tuesday, May 22, 2007.
She was a native of Mountain Top, daughter of the late Thomas and Lacie Nichols Umholtz, widow of William Miner, postal employee, volunteer with the American Heart Association, Pentecostal and had taught Sunday school since she was 11 years old.
Other survivors include three daughters, Donna Bolin of Selma, Calif., Janice Miner of Chowchilla, Calif., and Brenda Kimball of Mill Creek, Wash.; one son, Larry Miner of Yucaipa, Calif.; one sister, Lue Mae Hunter of Tehachapi, Calif.; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 29, at Williams cemetery near Ozark with Rev. Roger Umholtz officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home of Ozark.
