Mrs. Ella Nichols
Mrs. Ella Nichols, 66, of Clarksville died Thursday, Feb. 25, 1999, at her home.
She was a member of the Church of Christ and daughter of the late Wash and Rhoda Lampkins Workman.
She is survived by five daughters, Olita Stockton of Hunt, Linda Johnson and Nellie Johnson, both of Lamar, Bernetta Cooper of Ozark, and Gladys Pitts of Coseia; five sons, Steve Nichols and James Nichols, both of Alix, and Allen Nichols, Roger Nichols, and Douglas Nichols, all of Hunt; six sisters, Della Conover (twin) of Oklahoma, Opel Duckworth of Texas, Lois Shipley of California, Molly Manasco of Montana, and Ozella Rogers and Linney Block, both of Oklahoma; one brother, Buddy Workman of Oklahoma; 23 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 9 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 27, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel with Jerry Richardson officiating. Burial was in Arpelar cemetery in Arpelar, Okla.
Memorials may be made to Highway 64 Church of Christ in Lamar.
George K. Painter
George K. Painter, 75, of Clarksville died Monday, March 1, 1999, at AMI St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville.
A native of East Brady, Pa., he was a son of the late George Edward and Catherine Zeitler Painter, graduate of Cornell University in Ithaca, N. Y., past elder and member of Clarksville First Presbyterian Church, former vice president of Edwin L. Wiegand-Emerson Electric Manufacturing Company, retired vice president and general manager of Greenville Tube Corporation in Clarksville, World War II Air Force veteran, recipient of the Air Medal and was a B-17 Air Force flying fortress pilot. He was preceded in death by one sister, Lydia Sheakley.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Jacqueline Painter; one daughter, Debbie Painter Ford of Jacksonville; two sons, George William Painter of Waukesha, Wis., and Gary Lewis Painter of Highland, Calif.; three sisters, Emma Rogers and Ruth King, both of Sharon, Pa., and Louise Miller of East Brady, Pa.; and five grandchildren, Brian Painter and Christopher Painter, both of Wisconsin, Brandon Painter and Rachelle Painter, both of California, and Lauren Ford of Jacksonville.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 4, at the First Presbyterian Church in Clarksville with Rev. Lance Jones officiating. The body was cremated. Local arrangements were under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.

Mrs. Imojean Stauffer
Mrs. Imojean Hardcastle Taylor Stauffer, 79, of Ozark, sister of Odys Hardcastle of Clarksville, died Tuesday, March 2, 1999, at Mercy Hospital/Turner Memorial in Ozark.
She was a retired employee of Cargill Inc.
Survivors include her husband, Samuel Stauffer; two daughters, Shelba Jean Tucker and Glaedean Parker, both of Ozark; two sons, Jerry Don Taylor and Jimmie Ray Taylor, both of Ozark; three sisters, Mary Opper and Lena Parker, both of Ozark, and Ocene Sutliff of Paris; one other brother, Edward Hardcastle of Fort Smith; 12 grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 4, at Shaffer Funeral Home Chapel in Ozark with burial in Gar Creek cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Kenneth Tucker, Donald Tucker, Stevie Tucker, Robert Parker, Craig Parker, Marty Taylor, and Jimmy L. Taylor.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Cowan, David Howe, Bobby Graham, Don Hardcastle, Terry Hardcastle, Kenneth Hardcastle, and Larry Hardcastle.
Milton Edison Turner
Milton Edison Turner, 74, of Lamar died Thursday, Feb. 25, 1999, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
He was a native of Deval, Okla., son of the late Oloes and Vivian Mae Hastings Turner, member of the Clarksville Nazarene Church, and retired in 1972 after 24 1/2 years with the U. S. Army.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Gisela Turner; one son, David Marshall Turner of Lexington, Ky.; and one step grandson, Rickie Lee Hawkins of Lamar.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Monday, March 1, at Hardwicke Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Glenn Newton officiating. The body was cremated.
Mrs. Stella Otwell
Mrs. Stella Otwell, 88, of Fort Smith, formerly of Clarksville, died Wednesday, Feb. 24, 1999, at Sparks Regional Medical Center.
She was a native of Georgetown, Texas, daughter of the late Robert Travis and Emma Lenora Galloway Arnold, widow of Robert E. Otwell, member of the First Landmark Missionary Baptist Church in Clarksville, and was preceded in death by a son, R. Stanley Otwell, and a daughter, Venita Jo Otwell.
She is survived by two sons, Roy Otwell of Lubbock, Texas, and Blake Otwell of Clarksville; two daughters, Elaine Wilhelm of Fort Smith and Ruth Gagliardi of Trinidad, Colo.; one brother, Oscar Arnold of Seminole, Okla.; ten grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 27, at the First Landmark Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Vernon Bass officiating.
Burial was in Knoxville cemetery under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville.

Mrs. Velna M. Bean
Mrs. Velna M. Bean, 92, of Clarksville died Sunday, Feb. 28, 1999, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
She was a daughter of the late Dr. Steven Monroe and Mary Isabel Warren Graves, widow of Lawrence Richard Bean, member of the Church of Christ, and a retired school teacher having taught in public schools for several years prior to opening a private kindergarten in Clarksville. She was preceded in death by six sisters and four brothers.
She is survived by one sister-in-law, Jean Graves of Mountainburg; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 2, at the Clarksville Church of Christ with John Ballard officiating.
Burial was in Mt. Vernon cemetery under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were James Horn, Jim Clark, Ewell Sexton, Flynn Kinman, Duane Steele, and Elvin Brown.
Mrs. Charlie F. Buckner
Mrs. Charlie Frances Buckner, 86, of Van Buren, formerly of Clarksville, died Tuesday, March 2, 1999, at Brownwood Manor in Van Buren.
She was a daughter of the late Charles Edmond and Maude Jones Self, widow of Otis James Buckner, and member of the Church of God.
She is survived by one daughter, Laverne Snow of Fort Smith; two sons, Lee James Buckner of Van Buren and Michael Don Buckner of Clarksville; three sisters, Esma Simmons of Emmett, Idaho, Gladys Worth of Brogan, Ore., and Emma Land of Randall, Wash.; one brother, Ferrell Self of Scotsburg, Ore.; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 4, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Phil Redding officiating. Burial will be in Stillwell cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Greg Buckner, Gary Buckner, Tim Harris, Joe Fonville, Jeff Dale, and Brian Box.
Visitation will be from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, March 3, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Charles Whittle
Charles (Tiny) Whittle, 71, of Coal Hill died Monday, June 4, 2001, at AMI St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville.
A native of Coal Hill, he was a son of the late Hoial and Daisy Allen Whittle, and retired Johnson County Road Department employee.
He is survived by one brother and sister-in-law, George and Bonnie Whittle of Knoxville; four nephews, William Whittle of Sacramento, Calif., James Whittle of Fresno, Calif., Paul Whittle of Tulare, Calif., and George Ray Whittle of Fort Wayne, Ind.; and a friend, Nellie Vinson.
Graveside services and burial will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, June 7, at the Coal Hill cemetery with Hardwicke Funeral Home in charge.
Visitation will be from 7-8 p.m. Wednesday, June 6, at Hardwicke Funeral Home.
