Clint Brown
Clint Brown, 50, of Dover, whose sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Jerry LaRue, reside at Hagarville, died Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2009, at his home.
A son of the late Willard Guy Brown Sr. and the late Rossetta Sumners Brown, he was a native of Russellville, former truck driver, member of the North American Hunting Association and was an ordained minister with the Universal Life Church. He was also preceded in death by his grandparents, Otho and Mabel Sumners and Clyde and Bessie Brown; and three uncles, Herb Sumners and Roy and Edward Brown.
Survivors include five brothers, Willard Guy “Bud” Brown Jr. of Fort Smith, Roger Allen Brown of Moreland, Bobby Gene Brown of Washington, Charles Lee Brown of Fort Smith, and Willard Lamont Brown of Russellville; two other sisters, Teresa Johnson and husband, Bobby, of Russellville and Carolyn Brown of London; uncle, Dwain Sumners of Russellville; three aunts, Modene Griffith of Texas, Bernice Freeman of Russellville and Shirley Sumners of Dover; and numerous nephews and nieces.
Graveside service and burial were at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 14, at Rankin cemetery with Randy Wells officiating. Arrangements were by Shinn Funeral Service.
Active pallbearers were David Leavell, Bud Chisum, Justin Vanderpool, David Brown, Lamont Brown and Jerry LaRue.
Honorary pallbearers were Gary Ledford and Roger Brown.

Lexie Rue Wyers
Lexie Rue Wyers, 84, of Clarksville died Thursday, Sept. 10, 2009, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
She was a member of the Clarksville Church of Christ, native of Franklin County, daughter of the late Robert and Josie Green Pipkins, and a graduate of Hartman High School.
Survivors include her husband, Willie Wyers; two daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Ann and Larry Klotz of Sherwood and Kathy and Charles Holland of Sherwood; two sisters, Faye Roble of Clarksville and Velda Sallis of Greenbrier; and six grandchildren, Daniel Klotz, Katie Klotz, Jacob Klotz, Kristina Klotz, Lauren Holland and Joshua Holland, all of Sherwood.
Graveside services and burial were at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 12, at Kendall cemetery with Todd Rabalais and John Ballard officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Grandchildren served as honorary pallbearers.
Pete Sbabo
Pete Sbabo, 82, of Russellville died Thursday, Sept. 10, 2009, at Russellville.
A former resident of Clarksville, he was a son of the late Antonio and Zetta Lynch Sbabo, and a construction employee.
Survivors include his wife, Edith Harris Sbabo; one daughter, Paula Sbabo of Little Rock; one son, Bryan Sbabo of Fayetteville; four sisters, Pauline Siegeler of London, Isabelle Waterson and Sue Jackson, both of Russellville, and Jessie King of Topock, Ariz.; nine stepchildren, Ray Harris and wife, Helen, of Oklahoma, Jimmy Cowan and wife, Betty, of Dover, Jesse Cowan and wife, Donna, of Garland, Texas, Shirley Lewis and husband, Eddie, Dore Mason and husband, Stevie, Rose Herdman and husband, David, and Lisa Crites and husband, James Moore, all of Russellville, and Mary Turney and husband, Gary, and Diane Turney and husband, Clarence, all of Atkins; 34 grandchildren; and 50 great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 12, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. William Flynn officiating. Burial was in Oakland cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Daniel Herdman, Nick Herdman, Tony Scissom, Bobby Scissom, Jimmy Dale Cowan, and Steven Cowan.
Honorary pallbearers were grandchildren and a nephew, Tony Sbabo.
Shirley Yvonne Smith
Shirley Yvonne Smith, 66, of Van Buren, formerly of Coal Hill, died Sunday, Sept. 13, 2009.
She was a former pastor of Springs of Living Water Tabernacle in Ozark and a former resident of Natural Dam.
Survivors include her husband, Arlen Smith; three daughters, Tawanna Westphal and Freda Nichols, both of Van Buren, and Lois Gregory of Alma; two sisters, Beverly Pyle of Cedarville and Sharron Goss of Natural Dam; three brothers, Harrison, Kenneth and Jerry Shelly, all of Natural Dam; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 16, at Ocker Funeral Home located at 700 Jefferson Street in Van Buren. Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 17, at Grandview Assembly of God Church with burial in Hall cemetery at Natural Dam.
Active pallbearers will be Jeremy Gregory, Keith Gregory, Ryan Westphal, Jason Pyles, Branson Pyles, and Grayson Pyles.
Honorary pallbearers will be Curtis Smith, Bryan Nichols, Ronald Westphal, and Eugene Scarberry.
Gerald Lee Cordry Sr.
Gerald Lee Cordry Sr., 62, of Clarksville died Monday, Sept. 14, 2009, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
He was a native of Sedalia, Mo., son of the late Allen and Rita Holman Cordry, attended Clarksville First Assembly of God Church, served as a staff sergeant and a recruiter in the U. S. Army for ten years, also served in Vietnam, was mayor of Coal Hill for two years, employee of Whitson-Morgan Motor Company for ten years and was a driver for Tyson Feed Mill the last seven years.
Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Rosie Cordry; one daughter, Angie Merritt of Clarksville; two sons, Richard Cordry and wife, Debbie, of Labadie, Mo., and Gerald Cordry Jr. of Clarksville; three brothers, Butch Cordry of Idaho, John Kuebler and wife, Betty, of Montgomery, Mo., and David Kuebler of Siloam Springs; five grandchildren, Zachary, Brennan and Alyssa Cordry, Erika Wages, and Cody Johnson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 16, at Hardwicke Funeral Home Chapel. The body will be cremated.

Rosemary Snow
Rosemary Snow, 70, of Springdale, Arkansas, formerly of Scranton, Arkansas, loving wife, mother and grandmother departed this life to join Jesus on September 12, 2009 at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville. Rosemary was born September 7, 1939 in Indianapolis, Ind., to Quilla Keihn Walden. She attended Calvary Baptist Church in Springdale.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Billy D. Snow; two daughters, Debbie Featherston of Bethel Heights, Arkansas and Kathy Smedley and her husband, Brian, of Scranton, Arkansas; one son, Roger Snow and his wife, Becky, of Bonaire, Georgia; eleven grandchildren, Kayla Villines and her husband, Sam, of Clarksville, Nick and Logan Featherston of Bethel Heights, Arkansas, Blake Snow and his girlfriend, Kerry, Zach Snow and his girlfriend, "TC", of Vilonia, Arkansas, Spencer and Savannah Snow of Bonaire, Georgia, Cory Snow and his wife, Renee, and Erika Smith of Scranton, Arkansas, Sara Martin and her husband, Scott, and Shannon Smedley, all of Fort Smith, Arkansas; and three great-grandchildren, Shayden (Snoddy Snow) Villines, Kyler (Hoss Snow) Villines and Kyndalee (Billie Dee) Villines, all of Clarksville, Arkansas.
The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, September 15, 2009, at the Roller Funeral Home, in Paris. The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 16, 2009, at the Roller Funeral Home Chapel, in Paris, with Reverend Clark Snow and Reverend Leo Villines officiating. Burial will follow in the Prairie View cemetery, in Prairie View, Arkansas.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Eileen Taylor Pitts
Eileen Taylor Pitts, 102, Clarksville, died Thursday, December 24, 2009, at her home. She was a daughter of the late J.M. and Alice Garner Taylor.
A graduate of Clarksville High School and The College of the Ozarks, she also received a diploma in "Expression" from the Fine Arts Department. She taught third grade at Sallis School in Clarksville for several years. Eileen married
Ralph Eubanks Pitts September 1935. Much of their life was spent traveling the United States because of Ralph's job with an oil company. They lived briefly in 36 states, Mexico and Columbia. She joined the First United Methodist Church on Easter Sunday, 1921, where she was active in Sunday school, Women's Circle as well as other activities of the church. She was an active member of Chapter Q, P.E.O. and retired teachers association.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Pitts; and all eight brothers and sisters.
Survivors are daughter, Sandra J. Gray, Clarksville; a grandson, Richard Gray, Hutto, Texas; two great-granddaughters, Tracy Elizabeth Gray and Rebecca Ann Gray, Hutto, Texas; four nieces, Carol Mohlman, Pacific Palisades, California, Suellen Agnelli, Little Rock, Arkansas, Karen Gist, New Orleans, La.; and Allison Pettet of Springfield, Mo.; five nephews, Dr. Larry Taylor, Tallahassee, Florida, Richard Taylor, Alpharetta, Georgia, Ron Taylor, David Taylor, Garner Taylor, Robert M. Taylor, all of Clarksville, AR.
Funeral services were at 10:00 AM Monday, Dec. 28, at First United Methodist Church and burial was at Oakland cemetery with Rev. David Hanshaw officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Visitation was Sunday, Dec. 27, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
