Eamie M. Marlow

Eamie M. Patterson Marlow, 95, of Sutter Creek, Calif., formerly of Modesto, Calif., died Feb. 27, 2004, at Sutter Amador Hospital in Jackson, Calif.
A native of Oark, she was the widow of John Abraham Marlow and was preceded in death by one son, Eugene Marlow.
Survivors include four children, Florence Lorraine Pedranti of Oakdale, Calif., Corine Fried of Sutter Creek, Calif., Roy Lee Marlow of Pioneer, Calif., and Yvonne Jeffers of Modesto, Calif.; two sisters, Edna Arbaugh and Jewell Dickerson, both of Clarksville; 18 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and 18 great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 2, at Lakewood Memorial Park in Hughson, Calif., under the direction of Franklin & Downs-Colonial Chapel.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, 1710 Gilbreth Road, Burlingame, CA 94010.

Larry Joe Brown

Larry Joe Brown, 60, of Lamar died Saturday, Feb. 28, 2004, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
He was a native of Kansas City, Mo., son of the late Jesse Brown, machinist, and was preceded in death by his wife, Lilly Brown.
Survivors include two daughters, Pamela Brown and Anna Alexander, both of Missouri; three sons, Michael Brown and Tony Elam, both of Missouri, and Buck Elam of California; mother, Minnie Brown of Missouri; three sisters, Judy Collins, Phyllis Raybourn and Lois Duncan, all of Missouri; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside services and burial will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 3, at Minnow Creek cemetery with Rev. Amos Pledger officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Active pallbearers will be Chet Wages, T. J. Hayes, Roger Williams, Gerald Birkhahn, Lincoln Wages, and Junior Broadway.
Honorary pallbearers will be Kenny Phillips and Rick Caldwell.

Louise M. Lincoln

Louise McQuinn Lincoln, 83, of Russellville died Sunday, Feb. 29, 2004, at the Russellville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
A daughter of the late William E. and Minnie Mae Pommill Cogan, she was a native of Middleton, Ohio, widow of Charles F. McQuinn and Earl Lincoln, member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees, the Volunteer Auxiliary of AMI St. Mary's Regional Medical Center, and First Baptist Church of Knoxville, volunteer for the Pope County Literacy Council, recipient of the J. C. Penney Golden Rule Award, and a Transitional Living Center Board member.
Survivors include three stepsons, Ken Lincoln of Raleigh, N. C., Rick Lincoln of Stafford, Va., and John Lincoln of Ozark; one brother, Ray Cogan of Kerrville, Texas; one sister, Janet Eggleton of Trenton, Ohio; and several nephews and nieces including Gertrude Goe of Cobert, Wash.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 3, at the First Baptist Church of Knoxville with Rev. Richard Snyder officiating.
Burial will be in the Knoxville cemetery under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville.
Active pallbearers will be Jerry Davis, Donnie Hickey, Greg Burns, Raymon Hollaway, Rodney Selby and Phillip Freyaldenhoven.
Memorials may be made to the Pope County Literacy Council, P. O. Box 1276, Russellville, AR 72811.

Meeks E. Johnson

Meeks E. Johnson, 86, of Lamar died Monday, March 1, 2004, at Countryside Manor Nursing Home.
He was a native of Lutherville, son of the late Joe and Clara Belling Johnson, member of Second Baptist Church in Clarksville, an ordained deacon, 50-year Mason, and was preceded in death by his wife, Florence Alter Johnson; one son, Joe Johnson; and one brother, Frank Marland Johnson.
He is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Frances and Leonard Lindstad of Lamar and Dorris and Don Morgan of Victoria, Texas; one son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth Aden and Marie Johnson of Lamar; one sister, Edna Hickey of Clarksville; two brothers, Gene Johnson and Gaylon Johnson, both of Texas; 13 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 4, at Hardwicke Funeral Chapel with burial in Lamar cemetery.

M. J. Teague

M. J. Teague, 86, of Clarksville died Tuesday, March 2, 2004, at his home.
He was a native of Hobbs, N. M., son of the late James Henry and Missouri Ann Netherland Teague, 1936 graduate of Hobbs (New Mexico) High School, former president of Johnson County Riding Club for 17 years, member of Gately Hill Church at Dardanelle, and was preceded in death by one son, Marion Michael Teague in 1994.
Survivors include his widow, Valtina Herman Teague; three daughters, Donna Joyce Vire of Clarksville, Judy Gail Reeves of Hot Springs, and Sharon Jay Terry of Hagarville; one son, Larry Darel Teague of Batesville; one sister, Genieve Spears of Orangeburg, S. C.; one brother, R. L. Teague of Hobbs, N. M.; 13 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday, March 5, at Hardwicke Funeral Chapel with burial in Oakland cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Donald Meek, Dale Meek, Jody Cooper, Dustin Hurst, Nelson Teague, and Troy Terry.
Honorary pallbearers will be Eldon Colley, Jamie King, J. T. Heaslet, and Jim Willoughby.
Visitation will be from 6-7 p.m. Thursday, March 4, at Hardwicke Funeral Home.

Ray Newman

Ray Newman, 97, of Eugene, Ore., died Jan. 30, 2004.
He was a native of Clarksville, son of the late Lace and Julia Knuckles Newman, attended Lamar Schools, retired certified welder, member of the Horseless Carriage Club of America and the Pipefitters and Plumbers Union, and was preceded in death by wives, Louise Killough Newman and Ruth Lydick Newman; two sons, James and Michael; one daughter, Juanita; and one brother, Archie Cooper of Clarksville.
Survivors include one son, Dennis of Pahrump, Nev.; six grandsons; one granddaughter; eight stepchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins of the Johnson County area.
Funeral was at the Chapel of Memories with burial at Oak Hill cemetery in Eugene, Or

Virginia M. Hoyt

Virginia M. Hoyt, 86, of Raleigh, N. C., died Feb. 23, 2004, in Raleigh, N. C.
She was a native of Clarksville, daughter of the late Colin Milton and Vera Ella Sallis Threadgill, widow of Robert Wayland Hoyt, and former resident of Springdale.
Survivors include one son, Robert M. Hoyt of Blue Springs, Mo.; one daughter, Sherie Lynn Broadwell of Raleigh, N. C.; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 28, at Sisco Funeral Chapel in Springdale with Rev. Stewart Smith officiating. Burial was in Bluff cemetery.

W. D. Shuffield

W. D. (Dub) Shuffield, 80, of Dover died Thursday, Feb. 26, 2004, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
He was a native of Johnson County, son of the late Shelby and Lola Dollar Shuffield, member of the Pentecostal Church of God, and was a former farmer and bus driver with the Dover Public Schools for 27 years.
Survivors include his widow, Claudine Stumbaugh Shuffield; one son and daughter-in-law, Stan and Donna Shuffield of Dover; four daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda and Fred Wells of Russellville, Ru-
tha and Bob Freeman of Clarksville, Carolyn and Mike Lee of Dover, and JoAnn and Jim O'Neal of Branch; one sister and brother-in-law, Lenora and Charles Standridge of Dover; 12 grandchildren and spouses, Tammy and Wesley Morton of Dover, Bobby and Shelley Freeman and Mandi and Shawn Witt, all of Clarksville, Darren and Rachel Freeman of Russellville, Stan and Melinda Shuffield of Dover, Christie Shuffield of Conway, Debbie Shuffield of Dover, Chelli and Luke Guthrie of Russellville, Keri Lee of Dover, Katie Moore of Branch, Mark Moore of Texarkana, and Crystal and Brad McCollister of Red Bay, Ala.; four great-grandchildren, Hollie Hopson of Dover, Grace Guthrie of Russellville, and Emma and Destiny McCollister of Red Bay, Ala.; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 28, at Gospel Lighthouse Pentecostal Church with Rev. Jackie Pledger and Rev. Bob Freeman officiating.
Burial was in the Owens cemetery at Dover under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service of Russellville.
