Alma Brotherton
Alma Brotherton, 101, of Clarksville died Thursday, Nov. 16, 2006, at Countryside Manor Nursing Home.
She was a Baptist, retired health care nurses aide, and widow of Chester L. Brotherton.
Survivors are three daughters, Robbie Reeves and Sue Warnock, both of Hartman, and Wanda Walker of Clarksville; one son, Bill Brotherton of Hartman; ten grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 18, at the First Landmark Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Vernon Bass and Leon Kern officiating.
Burial was in West Mt. Zion cemetery at Hartman under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Kenny Brotherton, Jeff Brotherton, Darrell Watts, James Walker, Leon Kern, Mike Reeves, Zach Reeves and Billy Warnock.

Arvy Whitbey
Arvy Whitbey, 94, of London died Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2006, at AMI St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville.
A son of the late Joseph Hoil and Easter Ella Penix Whitbey, he was a native of Paris, retired farmer, member of Martin Chapel Assembly of God Church, preceded in death by his wife, Edith E. Whitbey; three stepsons, Johnny, Gene and Raymond Sapp; two brothers, Kenneth and Clifford Whitbey; and one sister, Ocie Waller.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Eddie and Cindy Whitbey of London; one daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca and Carl Boxnick of London; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Opie and Inez Whitbey and Gene and Velma Whitbey, all of Russellville; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Bonnie Julian and Irene and Richard Ward, all of London; 16 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 18, at Shinn Funeral Service Chapel in Russellville with Rev. Claude Jackson officiating. Burial was in North New Hope cemetery near Dover.
Pallbearers were Chad Whitbey, Gary and Dennis Ward, Charles Cochran, Don Smith, and Tim Julian.
Emma R. Moody
Emma Rachel Varner Moody, 99, of Russellville, whose son and daughter-in-law, Julius (Jay) and Edith Moody, reside in Clarksville, died Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2006, at Stella Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
She was a native of the Valley Special Community near Heber Springs, daughter of the late S. O. and Lula Varner, widow of Alvie V. Moody, member of Second Baptist Church in Russellville, actively involved in the ministry of children for many years, and was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters.
She is survived by three other sons, Owen D. Moody and wife, Faye, of Kansas City, Mo., Dorris (D. L.) Moody and wife, Martha, of Russellville, and Charles Moody and wife, Lorene, of Southaven, Miss.; eight grandchildren, Jerry Moody and wife, Julie, of Harrison, Vickie Estes and husband, Andy, of Little Rock, David Moody and wife, Terri, of Platte City, Mo., Janna Porterfield and husband, Denny, of Kansas City, Kan., Ed Moody and wife, Johnette, of Russellville, Randy Moody and wife, Leshea, of Beverly Hills, Fla., Mark Moody and wife, Kim, of Brookland, and Cindy Stokes and husband, Danny, of Madison, Ala.; 21 great-grandchildren; ten great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 18, at Humphrey Chapel in Russellville with grandson, Dr. Randy Moody, officiating followed by interment at 2 p.m. in the Heber Springs City cemetery.
Pallbearers were Jerry Moody, David Moody, Ed Moody, Mark Moody, Lucas Moody and Andy Estes.
Everett D. Warren
Everett D. (Ray) Warren, 79, of Osceola, Ind., died Thursday, Nov. 16, 2006, at his home.
He was a native of Clarksville, son of the late William Ambrose and Lelia Mabel Long Warren, retired in 1992 as a mechanic from Hill Truck Sales, Inc., and was preceded in death by his wife, Lorraine Demien Warren; six sisters; and four brothers.
He was a former chief of both the fire and police departments of Osceola, Ind., member of the Civil Defense, Penn Township 4-H Horse and Pony Club, and Penn South Fire Department, Boy Scout Master and World War II Army veteran having served in Japan.
Survivors include four daughters, Belinda (Dale) Wallick, Lois Hawkins, Carolyn (Grady) White, and Jackie (Dave) Trader, all of Osceola, Ind.; three sons, Harold (Sue) Wood of Mishawaka, Robert "Butch" (Darlene) Wood of Granger, Ind., and Ray "Everett" (StaciVanSchoiack) Warren of South Bend, Ind.; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one sister, Verona Rutledge of Bethany, Okla.
Funeral was at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 21, at Palmer Funeral Home-River Park in South Bend, Ind., with Chaplain Steve Coyle officiating. Burial was in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Osceola, Ind.

Lois Mae Dake
Lois Mae Dake, 95, of Clarksville died Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2006, in Tulsa, Okla.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, daughter of the late Nath and Jennie Dickerson, and widow of Clyde Dake.
She is survived by one daughter, Loyzelle Hamilton of Tulsa, Okla.; one grandson, Stephen Yeager; and one great-grandson, Bryant Yeager.
A celebration of life service was held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 17, at Roller-Cox Funeral Chapel with private burial following at Oakland cemetery.
M. A. Hardgrave
M. A. (Shorty) Hardgrave, 66, of Coal Hill died Thursday, Nov. 16, 2006, at his home.
A native of Hagarville, he was a son of the late Frank and Ella Mae Tennison Hardgrave, and was preceded in death by one sister, Betty Underwood; and one brother, James Hardgrave.
He is survived by one brother and sister-in-law, Frank and Louise Hardgrave of Hagarville; two nephews; and four nieces.
Graveside services and burial were at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 20, at the Minnow Creek cemetery with Rev. Amos Pledger officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Joe Hurst, James Paul Brasel, I. W. Owen, James Hardgrave, Tommy Rowbotham, Loren White, and Ancil Hutchins.
Mary Beth Reed
Mary Beth Reed, 92, of Hartman died Thursday, Nov. 16, 2006, in Dallas, Texas.
She was a daughter of the late William and Josephine Douthit Wofford and widow of Troy Reed.
Survivors include one daughter, Rozan Sawyer; and one brother, Carl Wofford.
Graveside services and burial were at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 20, at the Hartman cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Roger D. Evans
Roger D. Evans, 78, of Fort Worth, Texas, a retired aviation mechanic, died Monday, Nov. 13, 2006.
A native of Hartman, he was retired from the U. S. Army, was employed for Aerospatiale for many years prior to retirement, and a member of Lake Worth Masonic Lodge No. 1410 where he recently received his 50-year pin.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Mary Evans; children, Linda Dell and Steve Valdez of Fort Worth, Texas, and Roger L. Evans and wife, Patti, of Midlothian, Texas; one sister, Maxine Martin of Fort Worth, Texas; one brother, E. R. Evans of Azle, Texas; grandchildren, Shelli Jenks, Matthew Evans, Aaron Evans, and Paul Evans; and great-grandchildren, Christopher Mooty and Josh Jenks.
Graveside services and burial were at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 17, in Dallas-Fort Worth National cemetery under the direction of Biggers Funeral Home.
