Wade C. Huff Sr.

Wade C. Huff Sr., 73, of Ozark, father of Barbara Bartlett of Coal Hill, died Saturday, Jan. 12, 2002, at his home.
He was a retired, self-employed truck driver, son of the late Bill and Louise Triplett Huff and a native of Slayden, Tenn.
Survivors include two other daughters, Patsy Phillips of Oakland, Calif., and Nicole Disponzio of Fayetteville, N. C.; three sons, Gary and Jim Huff, both of Ozark, and Wade Huff Jr. of Florida; one sister, Laurie Jennings of Ozark; 13 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
The body was cremated. Arrangements were under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home of Ozark.

William V. Warren

William Virgil Warren, 71, of Clarksville died Sunday, Jan. 20, 2002, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
He was a son of the late Boyd and Sybill Smith Warren, retired self-employee, and was preceded in death by one sister, Joyce Warren; and one brother, Kenneth Warren.
He is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Toni and Rocky Hunt of Ozark and Roxanne and Jamey Riddle of Penicle Bluff; one sister, Linda Ann Mulanax of Clarksville; five brothers, Bobby Warren of Delaware, Charles Warren of Russellville, Vernon Warren of Atlantic Mine, Mich., Edward Warren of Newark, and Wayne Warren of Knoxville; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and companion, Margarella Armbruster of Clarksville.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 23, at Roller-Cox Chapel with Rev. Carl Sory officiating. Burial will be in Woodland cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be George Stewart, Jim Patterson, Kevin Johnson, Craig Clinton, Charles Russell Smith, and Johnny Johnson.
Honorary pallbearers will be Linda Mulanax, Charles Warren, Vernon Warren, Bobby Warren, Ed Warren, and Wayne Warren.

Lucile Sanders Patterson

Lucile Sanders Patterson, 87, died Tuesday, March 20, 2001, at home in Clarksville. She is survived by a son, Dr. Jack Patterson, of Clarksville; Lisa Carlton, of Clarksville; a daughter and son-in-law, Ann Patterson and Max Snowden, of Little Rock; a niece, Beth DuVall, of Van Buren; four grandchildren, Jack T. Patterson, II, of Little Rock, Sharon Beth Amaral, of Oak Harbor, WA, Katherine Ann Patterson, of Clarksville, and Scout Sanders Snowden, of Little Rock; two great-grandchildren, Jason and Taylor Amaral, of Oak Harbor, WA; a grandnephew, Evan DuVall, of VanBuren; a grandniece, Sarah DuVall-Murray of Charlottesville, VA; a great-grandnephew, Isaac Patrick Murray.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, J.T. Patterson, of Clarksville, and a sister, Maurine Sanders Patterson, of Clarksville and Van Buren.
Lucile Patterson was born on November 21, 1913, to Virgil T. and Martha Redding Sanders of Hubbard, TX. Growing up, she helped her father in his grocery store. She attended the Hubbard schools and graduated from Hubbard High School in 1931. She worked one and a half years for her father, who was city manager. She attended Hillsboro Junior College in Hillsboro, TX, and later attended Draughon's Business College in Dallas, where she met her husband, J.T.; the couple were married December 24, 1937 in Hubbard, the same year as her graduation from Draughon's. She worked at Sears-Roebuck in Dallas until 1942, when she came to Arkansas with her husband J.T Patterson.
Lucile held several positions at the University of the Ozarks, including that of Registrar. She was active in many service organizations. She served on the Johnson County Peach Festival Board for many years. She was a fifty-year member and past president of Chapter Q, P.E.O., and a member of Laureate Kappa Chapter, Beta Sigma Phi. She was also a member of the Johnson Regional Medical Center Auxiliary. Lucile was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Clarksville, and served on the Board of Deacons. She was active in the Presbyterian Women's Association. She was also a member of the Supper Club, and enjoyed Tuesday evening bridge for many years. Her lifelong commitment to her husband and family was matched by a love for her community and friends.
Pallbearers include Dr. Fritz Ehren, Harold Hyden, Ken McFerran, Ron Moore, Ken Sterling, Larry Stroud, Denton Tumbleson, and Turner Whitson; honorary pall bearers include John Bock, Heartsill Hall, Reece Hudson, Harold Lewis, Stewart Willey, Robert Hudson, Horner Askins, Bob Moore.
Memorials may be sent to the J.T. and Lucile Patterson Endowed Scholarship Fund at the University of the Ozarks. Please direct correspondence to Steve Edmisten, Office of Development, University of the Ozarks, 415 N. College Avenue, Clarksville, AR, 72830-2880.
Funeral will be 3:00 PM, Friday at First Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Lance Jones. Burial will be in Woodland cemetery, by Hardwicke Funeral Home.

Charles E. Morris

Charles E. Morris, 84, of Clarksville died Friday, March 23, 2001, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
He was a native of Hagarville, son of the late Edgar and Beulah Ragsdale Morris, member of the First United Methodist Church, Army veteran of World War II, retired civil service employee from Army Depot, and was preceded in death by one brother, Leonard Morris.
He is survived by his widow, Lena Yearwood Morris.
Graveside services and burial were at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 27, at Oakland cemetery with Rev. Lowell Eaton officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.

Chester D. Wynn

Chester D. Wynn, 87, of Russellville died Sunday, March 25, 2001, at AMI St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville.
A native of Hollister, Okla., he was a son of the late Charles and Clara Belle Mattox Wynn, retired real estate broker, United Farm Agency Agent at Clarksville, president of Herwig Lighting Company, former owner of the Peach Farm on Crow Mountain, member of the Constellation-Edison Park Lodge No. 974 in Arlington Heights, Ill., Scottish Rite Valley in Little Rock, Scimitar Temple of Little Rock, Central Arkansas Shrine Club of Russellville and Russellville Chapter No. 505 Order of the Eastern Star, and attended First United Methodist Church at Russellville.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary L. Wynn; two brothers; and two sisters.
Survivors include his widow, Betty S. Wynn; one son and daughter-in-law, Donald F. and Sherry Wynn of Russellville; one grandson, Brian Wynn of Russellville; one granddaughter and spouse, Tracy and Scott Savage of Russellville; two great-grandchildren, Chad Savage and Hanah Marie Savage, both of Russellville; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Veta Petersen of Russellville and Lorene and George Van Sickle of Campbell, Calif.; one stepson and spouse, Dennis R. and Joy Mason of Russellville; one step grandson, Jason Jolly of London; four step granddaughters and spouses, Kristi Jolly of Russellville, Amy and Valen Woodward of Houston, Texas, Kati Mason of Russellville, and Jaclyn and Jason Walker of Conway.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 29, at the Rest Haven Memorial Park with Rev. Johnny McCoy and Rev. Doug Little officiating.
The body was cremated. Arrangements are under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service.

Daniel Torres

Daniel Torres of Houston, Texas, former resident of the Little Mulberry Valley in northern Johnson County, died Tuesday, March 13, 2001.
He is survived by his mother; three brothers; and one sister.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Copillos de los Angels in Houston, Texas. The body was cremated and the cremains will be placed in the Little Mulberry Creek following a memorial service which will be held at a later date.

Estal Louise Azevedo

Funeral for Estal Louise Evans Azevedo, 77, who died Tuesday, March 20, 2001, was at 7 p.m. Sunday, March 25, at Allen Mortuary in Turlock, Calif.
She was a former resident of Coal Hill.
Survivors include one son, Bobby Azevedo of Moreno Valley, Calif.; two daughters, Mary Gorczewski of Campbell, Calif., and Ida Silveira of Hilmar, Calif.; one sister, Lola Lowe of Modesto, Calif.; seven grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Elizabeth B. Howell

Elizabeth Boggs Howell, 74, of Clarksville died Friday, March 23, 2001, at her home.
She was a native of Scott's Bluff, Neb., daughter of the late William Riley and Myrtle Stewart Boggs, graduate of Clarksville High School and The College of the Ozarks, retired school teacher having taught at Coal Hill and Lamar, member of the Retired Teachers Association, AEO, First United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women where she served on the church board and as Sunday school director and teacher for several years, and was also a member of the church choir.
Survivors include her husband, John E. Howell; one daughter, Amy Beth Peeples of Harrison; one son and daughter-in-law, Aaron Guice and Ruth Ann Howell of Clarksville; one sister, Elaine Killough of Charleston, S. C.; one brother, Elbert Boggs of Guthrie, Okla.; and one granddaughter, Bonnie K. Peeples of Harrison.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Monday, March 26, at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Lowell Eaton officiating.
Burial was in Oakland cemetery under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Ron Taylor, Steve Morgan, Keith Lewis, Jim Krohn, Jack Phillips, and John Krohn.
