Frances Alessi-Fultz
Frances Adeline Alessi-Fultz, 84, of Lamar died Friday, Nov. 13, 2009, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
She was a daughter of the late George Ed and Gertrude Lillie Talley Threatt, attended Light House Full Gospel Church in Clarksville, and was preceded in death by two sisters, Inez Isreal and Lois May; and one brother, Robert Threatt.
Survivors include one daughter, Velvet Overbey and husband, James, of Lamar; one son, Timothy Alessi of Little Rock; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 16, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. William Hickman and Rev. David Zeiler officiating. Burial was in Lamar cemetery.
George P. Dailey
George Patrick Dailey, 72, of Clarksville died Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2009, at his home.
He was a native of Cleveland, Ohio, son of the late George and Patricia Ryan Dailey, graduate of St. Edwards High School in Cleveland, Ohio, member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus No. 5725, and Knights of Columbus Fourth Degree at Fort Smith, and organizer of Shop with a Cop.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Wanda Dailey; one daughter, Terri Yarbrough and husband, David, of Clarksville; two sons, Greg Dailey and wife, Julie, of Aurora, Colo., and Rick Dailey and wife, Heather, of Clarksville; two sisters, Patty Blum of Lakewood, Ohio, and Meg Frolich of Madina, Ohio; seven grandchildren, Chris and Megan Dailey, Kallie Cooper, Ashley and Kacy Yarbrough, and Arie and Zane Dailey; and one great-grandchild, Hunter Dailey.
Rosary service was at 5:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 13, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. Funeral was at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church with Father William Wewers officiating. The body was cremated. Local arrangements were under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.

James Coy King
James Coy King, 92, of Russellville died Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2009, at Little Rock.
He was a native of Lamar, son of the late Winfred R. and Ethel Hays King, member of Harvest Time Family Worship Center in Russellville, preceded in death by his wife, Nona Esther Slusser King; two brothers, John King and Paul King; and four sisters, Euna Sparks, Louise Sparks, Hazel Rose, and Ruth Morrow.
Survivors include two brothers, Hays King and Bruce King, both of Green River, Wyo.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral was at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, at Harvest Time Family Worship Center in Russellville with Pastor Ed Wilbourn officiating. The body was cremated. Local arrangements were under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
William Lee Taylor Sr.
William Lee Taylor Sr., 59, of Lamar died Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2009, at his home.
He was a native of Iowa and preceded in death by his parents and several brothers.
Survivors include two daughters, Christie Letourneau of Fayette, Iowa, and Heather Taylor of Independence, Iowa; two sons, William Taylor Jr. of Lamar and Jerry Taylor of Waterloo, Iowa; two brothers, Richard and James Taylor, both of Waterloo, Iowa; and eight grandchildren.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel. The body will be cremated.
Larry Eugene Bates
Larry Eugene Bates, 61, of Lamar died Sunday, Dec. 20, 2009, at Russellville.
He was a mechanic and son of the late Ross E. Bates and Elizabeth Miller.
Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Shirley Sue Bates; one daughter, Annisa Berg and husband, Alan, of Scranton; two sons, Danny Bates and wife, Angie, of Lamar and Tracy Bates and wife, Denise, of Hartman; three sisters, Anita Mooney and husband, Lawrence, of Knoxville, June Lampkin and husband, David, of Longview, Texas, and Betty Mize of Lamar; two brothers, Roger Bates and Mike Bates and wife, Regina, all of Lamar; and seven grandchildren, Ricky and Jacob Bates of Lamar, Brandon and Nathan Berg of Scranton, and Alex Arbaugh, Kelsie Yocher, and Bo Allen Bates of Hartman.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 23, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bill Allen officiating. Burial will be in Holman cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Miller, Bo Miller, Lawrence Mooney, Paul Holt, Terry Miller, and Tommy Delgado.
Fayne P. Blackard
Fayne Parker Blackard, 86, of Clarksville died Sunday, Dec. 20, 2009, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
She was a native of Clarksville, widow of Ed Noel Blackard, member of the First United Methodist Church since the age of 12, member and pianist of Friendship Sunday school class, member of United Methodist Church Women's Circle, former employee of Hilton Motor Company for six years, former leader of the Girl Scouts and worked with Rainbow Girls. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Carrie Wilson; one brother, George Joel Parker; and one sister, Eulala Thiesson.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Sandra and Vernon Bryan of Tucson, Ariz., and Cheryl and Ronnie Coffman of Russellville; son-in-law, Stephen Wilson of Satellite Beach, Fla.; one sister, Earladean Davis of Ozark; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Private funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 23, at Hardwicke Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Hanshaw officiating. Private burial will be at Oakland cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Bobby Geisler, Harold Johnson, Bob Blackard, Pat Blackard, C. O. Blackard, and Michael Buck.

David Clark Davis
David Clark Davis, 80, of Knoxville died Monday, Dec. 14, 2009, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
He was a retired teacher having taught at Dunbar Junior High in Little Rock, son of the late Willie (W.C.) and Velma Smith Davis, and was preceded in death by two brothers, Warner S. Davis and Paul M. Davis.
He is survived by one sister, Jean Dill and husband, Steve, of Kansas City, Mo.; one brother, Robert J. Davis and wife, Sue, of Knoxville; eight grandchildren, Mary Michelle Johnson, Steven Francis Keville Jr. and Nicholas Robert Keville, all of Knoxville, Julie Ann Cody of Morrilton, and Timothy William O'Connor, Andie Lynn Johnson, Destiny Dawn Keville and Brandy Lynn Ham, all of Clarksville; 13 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside services and burial were at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 18, at Oakwood cemetery in Paris with Rev. Amos Pledger officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Calvin J. Ball
Calvin J. Ball, 74, of Ozark, father of Donnie Ball of Coal Hill, died Sunday, Dec. 13, 2009, in Ozark.
He was born at Patrick in Madison County, son of the late Elvis Marion and Nellie Hall Ball, retired concrete finisher, and was preceded in death by one brother, Jasper Ball.
Survivors include his wife, Carol Mathie Ball; one daughter, Lisa M. Nordin of Klamath Falls, Ore.; three other sons, Calvin Edward, Bobby and Elvis James Ball, all of Ozark; two sisters, Shirley Ricketts of Alix and Mary Mae Thomas of Paris; one brother, Chester Ball of Paola, Kan.; 12 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Thursday at Shaffer Funeral Home Chapel in Ozark with Rev. Ted Darling officiating. Burial was in Ledbetter cemetery at Combs.
Pallbearers were James Ricketts, Ronnie Collins, Roger Young, Rick Nordin, Tony Thomas, and Bryan McKenna.
Paul Edward Martinez
Paul Edward Martinez, 36, of Pettigrew died Monday, Dec. 14, 2009, from injuries sustained in a one-vehicle accident on Johnson County Road 5099 approximately 5.5 miles from Oark.
He was a native of Houston, Texas, graduate of Oark High School, attended Culinary College in West Virginia, employee of Oark General Store and member of the Oark Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include his wife, Evita Martinez; three daughters, Chloe Martinez and Eerie Allen, both of Pettigrew, and Khamillian Allen of Bentonville; one son, Nathaniel Scribbner of Knoxville; parents, Jesse Martinez Jr. and Nadine Martinez of Pettigrew; grandparent, Manora Martinez of Clarksville; aunt, Polly Contreras of Clarksville; nephew, Aaron Robert Brown of Clarksville; one brother, Robert Lee Brown Jr. of Clarksville; and two grandchildren, Bradley James Jackson Jr. and Regan Joy Jackson, both of Bentonville.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 30, at CR 5099 near home at Checkerboard.
The body was cremated. Local arrangements were under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
