Elizabeth Michelski
Elizabeth (Betty) Shanteau Michelski, 74, of Waukegan, Ill., died Tuesday, March 12, 2002, at Waukegan, Ill.
A native of Little Rock, she was a daughter of the late Dwight and Dallas Baskin, graduate of Waukegan Township High School and retired from Illinois Bell where she was a member of the Pioneer Club. She also did volunteer work at Victory Memorial Hospital.
Survivors are two sons and one daughter-in-law, Lawrence and Charlotte Shanteau of Beach Park, Ill., and Mark Shanteau of Milwaukee, Wis.; one brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Tekla Baskin of Naples, Fla.; four grandchildren, Deryk, Noel, Cameron, and Suzanne; two nieces; and three nephews.
A memorial service was held at 8 p.m. Friday, March 15, at Congdon Funeral Home in Zion, Ill.
Iberia English
Iberia English, 84, of Ozark, sister of Herbert Eugene English of Clarksville, died Thursday, March 7, 2002, at Ozark Nursing Home.
She was a daughter of the late William and Elizabeth Yates Eng-
lish, native of Franklin County, and a former employee of the Red Cross and secretary for the state department.
She is survived by one other brother, Kenneth Wayne English of Ozark; three nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Graveside services and burial were at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 9, at Roselawn cemetery in Fort Smith with Rev. Jan Akins and W. B. Powell officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Fentress Mortuary of Fort Smith.
Pallbearers were Gary English, Keith English, Jeffrey English, Brandon English, Brad English and Jack Whitson.
Joe Porter
Joe Porter, 94, of Clarksville died Thursday, March 14, 2002, at Crawford County Hospital.
He was a member of the Church of Christ, Army veteran of World War II, retired dry cleaners employee, son of the late Guy C. and Tommie King Porter; and was preceded in death by three daughters, Faye, June, and Joan.
Survivors include his widow, Estelle Gould Porter; one son, Alvin Porter of Knoxville, Tenn.; one stepdaughter, Earlene Domerese of Van Buren; one stepson, Don Doss of Van Buren; two sisters, Doris Vernelle Church of Fort Worth, Texas, and Helen Hill of Farmington; two brothers, Wilson E. Porter of Booneville and Tom B. Porter of Fullerton, Calif.; several grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Monday, March 18, at the Clarksville Church of Christ with John Ballard and Mike Eppinette officiating.
Burial was in Harmony cemetery under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were James Clark, Kinney Denton, Flynn Kinman, Myron Been, James Horn, and William Rutledge.

Dannie Lee Davis
Dannie Lee Davis, 55, of Knoxville died Saturday, July 20, 2002, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
A native of Sikeston, Mo., he was a son of the late George Cecil and Ocie Marie Holt Davis, graduate of Sikeston High School, member of the Knoxville Masonic Lodge No. 370 and London Masonic Lodge, Knoxville First Baptist Church, Vietnam veteran having served with the 377 SPS Unit, and retired from LTV Aero Space in Grand Prairie, Texas, after 27 years of employment.
Survivors are his widow, Jean Davis; one daughter, Cheryl Mize of Knoxville; one son, Dannie Davis Jr. of Crestview, Fla.; two sisters, Jackie Powell of Charleston, Mo., and Betty King of Willits, Calif.; two brothers, Ralph Davis and Bill Davis, both of Sikeston, Mo.; and three grandchildren, Chris Goains, John Milligan and Ryan Mize, all of Knoxville.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 24, at the Knoxville First Baptist Church with Rev. Richard Snyder officiating.
Burial and masonic rites will be at the Knoxville cemetery under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be John Tyson, Jodie Storms, Carl Collins, Glen Rainey, Billy Bush, Kenneth Cash, Glen Hickey, and Doc Ramsey.
Daniel R. Spradlin
Daniel Richard Spradlin, 75, of Clarksville died Tuesday, July 16, 2002, at his home.
He was retired, World War II Army veteran, son of the late Daniel H. and Lucile Hudson Spradlin, and was preceded in death by one sister and three brothers.
Survivors are his widow, Irene Rollins Spradlin; one daughter, Susan Mayer of Aston, Pa.; and two grandchildren.
Funeral was at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 20, at Roller-Cox Chapel with Rev. Vernon Long officiating.
Active pallbearers were Rick Spradlin, Darrell Garlock, Dale Garlock, Burl McCartney, Daniel Spradlin, and Elliot Garlock.
Honorary pallbearers were Gervis McCartney and Larry Mayer.
James M. Parker Sr.
James M. Parker Sr., 74, of Hartman died Saturday, July 20, 2002, at the Veterans Hospital in Fayetteville.
He was a son of the late Albert M. and Roxie Smith Parker, machine shop retiree, Methodist, World War II Army veteran, and was preceded in death by his wife, Iva Beatrice Parker; and one sister, Faye Green.
Survivors are two daughters, Glenda Diane Parker of the home and Iva Joann Ferguson of Hartman; two sons, Gerald Parker and James M. Parker Jr., both of Hartman; four sisters, Evelena Lane of Russellville, Dorothy Scarberry of Coal Hill, Hilda Ross of Oklahoma, and Georgia Luncford of Utah; four brothers, Leroy Parker and Ted Parker, both of California, Don Parker of Coal Hill and Dane Parker of Hartman; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 23, at the Hartman Methodist Church with Rev. Larry King officiating.
Burial was in the Hess cemetery at Coal Hill with military honors. Arrangements were under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Active pallbearers were Donnie Scarberry, Billy Scarberry, Brian Syfert, Danny East, Mike Young and Steve Estep.
Honorary pallbearers were Chris Estep and Steve Weathers.
Lee D. Temple
Lee Douglas Temple, 90, of Fort Smith, brother-in-law of John Taylor of Clarksville, died Saturday, July 20, 2002, in Fort Smith.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Jean Temple.
Other survivors include two daughters, Mary Kay Gordon of Apline, Texas, and Barbara Graves of Tulsa, Okla.; and one sister-in-law, Mary McCain of Pleasant Hill, Ore.
A memorial service will be held at a later date and burial will be at the U. S. National cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
