Mrs. Lois V. Simms

Mrs. Lois V. Simms, 76, of Clarksville died Friday, Oct. 9, 1998, at Sparks Regional Medical Center in Fort Smith.
A native of Coal Hill and daughter of the late Edward T. and Celia King Vardaman, she was a graduate of Coal Hill High School, and a member of the First Baptist Church and the PEO.
Survivors include her husband, L. J. Simms; two sons, John Simms of North Attleboro, Mass., and Tommy Simms of Fort Smith; one sister, Lucille Martin of Paris; one brother, E. T. Vardaman of Little Rock; and four grandchildren, Grant Simms and Kelsey Simms, both of Fort Smith, and Chris Simms and Kyle Simms, both of Attleboro, Mass.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 12, at the First Baptist Church with Dr. Robert Brown officiating.
Burial was in Oakland cemetery under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Paul Bean, Tim Swindle, Pete Mann, Arvid Bean, Carl Fiddle, and John Wells.

Mark Barnett

Mark Barnett, 92, of Clarksville died Sunday, Oct. 11, 1998, at Countryside Manor Nursing Home.
He was a member of Clarksville Christian Church, Navy veteran, member and past master of the Masonic Lodge, retired from Lever Brothers Company in Whiting, Ind., son of the late John T. and Florence Saylor Barnett, and was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Luella Virginia Barnett.
He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Jack D. and Karyle Barnett of Clarksville; one sister-in-law, Doris Lambeth of Sullivan, Ind.; one brother, Roland Barnett of Equality, Ill.; one brother-in-law, Homer McKinley of Merom, Ind.; two grandchildren and spouses, Jacquline and Steve DeYoung of Lamar and Terry and John Schutz of Cedar Lake, Ind.; six great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 14, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jeff Doherty officiating. Burial will be in Oakland cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Joshua DeYoung, John Schutz, Sean Schutz, Jason Higgins, Aaron Mize, and Matthew Wylie.

Marilyn Jolley

Marilyn Jolley, 63, died at her home in Wallace, Idaho.
She was a former resident of Johnson County.
Survivors include one daughter, Sharon Barnhouse of Van Buren; one son, Robert Jolley of Morgantown, N. C.; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held Saturday, Oct. 10, 1998, at Wallace Assembly of God Church.
The body was cremated.

Mrs. Olga Quisenberry

Mrs. Olga Quisenberry, 84, of Angleton, Texas, died Monday, Oct. 5, 1998, in Angleton, Texas.
She was a native of Coal Hill, daughter of the late Ideus and Mary Ethel Miller, widow of Floyd Quisenberry, former resident of Denning, member of the Angleton Grandmother's Club, and was preceded in death by one son, Gordon.
She is survived by three sons, Tommy of Albuquerque, N. M., Pat of Angleton, Texas, and Mike of Lake Jackson, Texas; one sister, Christine Muldoon of Pico Riveria, Calif.; 14 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 7, at Palms Funeral Home in Angleton, Texas, followed by a second service at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 9, at the Coal Hill Church of Christ.
Burial was in Coal Hill cemetery under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home of Ozark.

Tyrol Q. Carson

Tyrol Q. (Kit) Carson, 67, of Sparkman, father of Terry Q. Carson of Clarksville, died Monday, Oct. 12, 1998, at Baptist Medical Center in Arkadelphia.
He was a native of Mountainburg, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Q. (Mildred Satterfield) Carson Sr., 1949 graduate of Ozark High School, a retired chairman and president with Merchants and Planters Bank of Sparkman, and a former vice president with the bank of Oak Grove, La., and the Bank of Ozark.
Other survivors include his widow, Mrs. Wilma Ruth Alston Carson; one daughter, Pamela Smith of El Dorado; one sister, Lu Nell Burnett of Springdale; and three grandchildren, Tab Smith, Brooke Smith, and Travis Collyar.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 14, at the First Baptist Church in Sparkman.
Burial will be in Sparkman cemetery under the direction of Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home of Arkadelphia.
Memorials may be made to the Westside Christian School, 2400 West Hillsboro, El Dorado, AR 71730.

William J. East

William J. East, 66, of La Puente, Calif., died Sept. 14, 1998, in Queen of Valley Hospital in West Covina, Calif.
He was a former resident and son of the late William S. East of Clarksville.
He is survived by his mother, Viola East of La Puente, Calif.; and six nephews, all of California.
Funeral was Friday, Sept. 18, in Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with Bill Hall officiating. Burial was in Forest Lawn Park.
Pallbearers were Rodney East, Robert East, Roger East, William E. East, Jeffry East, and Hearold Solb.

Mrs. Wanda F. Tenney

Mrs. Wanda F. Tenney, 60, of Lamar died Tuesday, Oct. 6, 1998, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
She was a daughter of the late Jobe and Dovie Steele Tate and a Baptist.
Survivors include her husband, James Tenney; one daughter, Clarice Sikora of Pledger, Texas; two sons, Mike Tenney of Oklahoma and Charles Stukes of California; one brother, James O'Brien of Oklahoma; and nine grandchildren.
The body was cremated.
Local arrangements were under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.

Candace A. Haley

Candace Arline Haley, 37, of Ozone died Friday, Oct. 13, 2000, north of Dover from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident.
She was a health care employee, Protestant, and graduate of Elkins High School.
She is survived by her fiance, Mike Reece of Ozone; two daughters, Cassandra N. Bolton and Megan Adrianna Haley, both of Sulphur Springs, Texas; parents, Doyle Author and Ernestine Gray of Elkins; one sister, Valerie Gray of Clarksville; one niece, Danielle Gray of Clarksville; and one grandchild.
A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 17, at Roller-Cox Chapel with Rev. Russell Hufman officiating.
