Hoyle Madewell

Hoyle Madewell, 81, of Joplin, Mo., died Saturday, Oct. 14, 2000, in a Joplin, Mo., nursing home.
He was a son of the late Florence and Clarence Madewell Sr., and was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Madewell; and one sister, Leona Harmon.
He is survived by three children, Kenneth Madewell of Branson, Mo., Dorothy Allen of Lebanon, Mo., and Thelma Wilson of Carterville, Mo.; three brothers, Clarence Madewell and Gaylon Madewell, both of Lamar, and Clymouth Madewell of Aurora, Mo.; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 18, in Webb City, Mo.

Jerry Bob Barger Sr.

Jerry Bob Barger Sr., 64, died Friday, Oct. 13, 2000, at his home in St. Louis, Mo.
He was a native of Coal Hill and a retired forklift driver for Rehoux after 34 years.
Survivors include his widow, Sandy Gentile Barger; children and spouses, Jerry Jr. (Jane), Michael (Carrie) and Jeannie (Scott) and their mother, Alvina; stepchildren, Tom and Mary; grandchildren, Scottie, Gina, Jordan, Josh, Jason, and Meaghan; brothers, James and Galen; nephew, Shawn; niece, Pamela; in-laws, Pete (Mac) Gentile; and sister-in-law, Mary Lou.
Funeral mass was at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 16, at Epiphany of our Lord Church at Ivanhoe, Mo., with interment at Mt. Hope cemetery under the direction of Calcaterra Funeral Home.

Reba C. Flynn

Reba C. Hodge Flynn, 91, of Poughkeepsie died Friday, Oct. 13, 2000, at White River Medical Center in Batesville.
A native of Hagarville, she was a daughter of the late John Wesley and Winnie Elizabeth Bean Hodge, member of the Clarksville Church of Christ, and was preceded in death by two husbands, Alex J. Brigham and Tom Flynn; two sons, James Alex Brigham and Harold Dean Brigham; eight brothers; and eight sisters.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, George and Carla Brigham of Poughkeepsie; one daughter, Lillie Miller of Dover; two sisters, Lucille Faucett of Marysville, Wash., and Neva Reynolds of Clarksville; 11 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held in Clarksville at a later date with interment in the Masonic cemetery in Elma, Wash., under the direction of Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.

James Jay Haney

James Jay Haney, 39, of Fayetteville died Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2000, at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville.
A native of East Lansing, Mich., he was a son of the late Jefferson H. Haney, attended schools in Wyoming and Texas, having graduated from Angleton (Texas) High School in 1979, was a 1983 graduate of the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville with a bachelor of science degree in history, and was a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity.
He was a former employee of Arkansas State Bank in Clarksville, was with Tyson Foods of Springdale for ten years, served on the board of directors of Security Bank and Trust of Miami, Okla., and was an investment representative for Edward Jones at the time of his death. He was a member of the Central United Methodist Church where he was a member of the Promise Keepers and was preceded in death by one sister-in-law, Pamela Hiatt.
Survivors include his widow, Ginger Ann Braddy Haney; one daughter, Mary Elizabeth (Libbey) Haney; one son, Christopher Lee Haney; mother and stepfather, Jeanne I. and Rev. James P. Fleming of Huntsville; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Joe M. and Elaine Haney of Grand Junction, Colo., and Dean and Patty Haney of Jackson, Wyo.; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Carol J. and Patrick Carden and Mary K. and Harry McCoy, all of Miami, Okla.; mother-in-law and stepfather-in-law, JoAnn and Dr. David M. Williams of Danville; father-in-law, Leon Braddy of Danville; one sister-in-law, Tamara Breland of Fayetteville; several nieces and nephews including Catherine Breland of Fayetteville, Ross Hiatt of New York City, N. Y., Catherine Hiatt of Kingwood, Texas, Diana and Ian Haney, Jessica and Joshua Haney, Steven, Philip, Rebecca, and Emily Carden, Jeff and James Stevens, and Amanda McCoy.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 19, at Central United Methodist Church with Rev. J. Anthony Holifield and Rev. J. Wesley Hilliard officiating.
Burial will be in Fairview Memorial Gardens under the direction of Moore's Chapel.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 18, at Moore's Chapel at 206-8 W. Center Street in Fayetteville.
Memorials may be made to the Leukemia Society of America, 733 3rd Ave., New York City, N. Y. 10017.

Richard Charles Swain

Richard Charles Swain, 84, of Clarksville died Monday, Oct. 16, 2000, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
He was a retired carpenter, member of Landmark Missionary Baptist Church, son of the late Leslie Swain, and was preceded in death by one son, Richard Swain Jr.; and one sister, Gladys Larue.
Survivors include his widow, Wyona Gorges Swain; one daughter, Bette Santaw of Walpole, N. H.; two sons, Michael Swain and Jerrold Swain, both of Walpole, N. H.; one stepdaughter, Leanne Daniels of Homestead, Fla.; two stepsons, James Lamoureux of Springfield, Vt., and Leonard Lamoureux of Walpole, N. H.; mother, Rose Swain of Hartman; four sisters, Dorothy Hicks of Charlestown, N. H., Marion Critchfield of Hartman, Hazel King of Clarksville, and Rose Hurd of Chipley, Fla.; three brothers, Clarence Swain of Walpole, N. H., Robert Kenney of Vernon, Vt., and John Swain of Spring Hill, Fla.; eight grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 20, at the Landmark Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Vernon Bass and Rev. Ransom Storms officiating.
Burial will be in Walpole, N. H.
Arrangements are under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be David Handley, Ron Ashlock, Burl Price, Al Warren, Dale Caldwell, Wendell Lee, and Wayne Pyron.
Memorials may be made to the Landmark Missionary Baptist Church.

Agnes F. Estep

Agnes Foster Estep, 88, of Russellville died Sunday, Jan. 30, 2005, at Legacy Lodge Nursing Center at Russellville.
She was a native of Midway in Logan County, daughter of the late Riley and Tennie Trusty Foster, member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church at Russellville, and was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Martha Jane Estep; three brothers, Curtis O. Foster, Dewey Denton Foster, and Murry M. Foster; and two sisters, Sara Janie Foster and Atha L. Foster.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Rick and Marie Estep of Russellville; one daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Dennis Duryea of Russellville; three granddaughters, Christy Leavell of Russellville, Michelle Gilleran of Conway, and Melissa Belz of Naples, Fla.; and four great-grandchildren, Paige and Mallory Leavell of Russellville and Matthew and Nicholas Gilleran of Conway.
Graveside services and burial will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 2, at the Elsworth cemetery at Midway with Rev. Don Erwin officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville.
Honorary pallbearers will be Lance Leavell and Shawn Gilleran.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 320 North Greenwood Avenue, Fort Smith, AR 72901.

Alice C. Walleck

Mass of Christian burial for Alice Catherine Walleck, 60, a native of Coal Hill, who died Jan. 22, 2005, was held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 26, at Holy Spirit Church followed by burial in Resurrection North cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of McGilley Midtown Chapel in Kansas City, Mo.
She was reared in Kansas City, Mo., graduated from Hogan High School, and was active in the St. Agnes PTO and Nativity Circle at St. Agnes. She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Pat; and one sister, Judy.
Survivors include her husband, Ron Walleck; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Andy, Sean and Amy, and Tom and Lora; three sisters, Mary Wall, Pat Weir and Rita Hamilton; and five grandchildren.

Bonnie M. Byrd

Bonnie Marie Byrd, 83, died Monday, Jan. 24, 2005, in Murietta, Calif.
She was a former resident of Lamar and Clarksville, former employee of Senior Companion, daughter of the late Jack and Jessie Fugett Ramsey, and was preceded in death by one grandson, Jason Purkis.
Survivors include one daughter, Donna Cuthill of Corvallis, Ore.; two sons, Greg Kolt of San Diego, Calif., and William Kolt of Temecula, Calif.; three grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 5, at Miller-Jones Mortuary Chapel in Sun City, Calif., with private internment to follow.
