Paul W. Powers

Paul Wesley Powers, 32, of Ozark, formerly of Clarksville, died Friday, May 19, 2006, in Ozark.
Survivors include two sons, Gavin Reilly and Justice Blade Powers, both of Lamar; parents, Billy and Susan Bennett of California and Dr. Allan and Sylvia Walker of Ozark; four sisters, Kimberly Ramos of California, Charity Darter of Cecil, and Stacy Lambert and Paulette Hoyle of Little Rock; one brother, William Bennett of California; and fiance, Holly Parrish of Lamar.
A memorial service is pending but will be announced later by Shaffer Funeral Home of Ozark.

Viola E. Tipton

Viola Elizabeth Williams Tipton, 92, of Joplin, Mo., formerly of Clarksville, died Sunday, May 28, 2006, at National Healthcare Center in Joplin, Mo.
She was a daughter of the late Solen and Nancy Armenda Russell Williams, widow of Rex M. Tipton, member of Clarksville First Baptist Church, attended Johnson and Crawford County Schools and Arkansas Tech University in Russellville, former owner of Tipton Motor Company with car dealership for Studebaker, Packard and Jeep, an artist whose paintings were shown in many exhibits, and was preceded in death by two sisters, Jewell Lorene Williams Laster and Margaret Alice Williams Wood.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Carolyn and Bill Orbin of Joplin, Mo., and Dortha and George Metcalf of Las Cruces, N. M.; one son, Roger Tipton of Little Rock; one brother, Clarence R. Williams of Ozark; one sister, Bessie Mae Williams Brown of Van Buren; five grandchilren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Private graveside services and burial will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 31, at Oakland cemetery. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 31, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Billy Usery officiating.
Memorials may be made to the Fort Smith Art Center, 423 North 6th Street, Fort Smith, AR 72901.

Walter O. Marler

Walter Owen Marler, 57, of Henryetta, Okla., father of James Marler of Clarksville, died Saturday, May 27, 2006.
He was formerly of Philpot Valley, Okla., son of the late Walter Owen Marler Sr. and Hazel Marler of Henryetta, Okla., member of the Masonic Lodge and the Word of Truth Tabernacle of Van Buren, and retired employee of Ceco Construction in Knoxville.
Survivors include one daughter, Kutina Ray of Van Buren; one other son, Owen Marler Jr. of Van Buren; three grandsons, Joshua Ray, and Blaze and Braxton Marler; two sisters, Betty Applegate of Muldrow, Okla., and Gale Dillon of Henryetta, Okla.; two brothers, Bill Marler of Missouri and Wallace Marler of Henryetta, Okla.; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services and burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 1, at Senora cemetery in Henryetta, Okla.
Active pallbearers will be Billy Marler, Bobby Wilcox, Bobby Wilcox Jr., David Wilcox and Steve Wilcox.
Honorary pallbearers will be Waylon Marler, Johnny Sanders, James Dalham and Jerry Parker.
Visitation will be at 6 p.m. Wednesday, May 31, at Shurden Funeral Home in Henryetta, Okla.

Avis Walker

Avis Walker, 74, of Scranton died Monday, April 24, 2006, at her home.
She was born in Logan County, daughter of the late Andrew Scott and Letha Benegar Rogers, and Dublin Freewill Baptist Church secretary for 20-plus years.
Survivors include her husband of 54 years Billy C. Walker; one daughter, Deborah Tencleve and husband, Kenneth, of Scranton; one son, Roger C. Walker of Scranton; and two grandsons, Andrew Tencleve and wife, Sarah, and Stephen Tencleve.
Private graveside services and burial were at the Wares Chapel cemetery near Dublin with Rev. Herb Tilley officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home of Paris.

Benjamin R. Holland

Benjamin Ryan Holland, 30, of Clarksville died Tuesday, April 25, 2006, at Johnson Regional Medical Center from injuries sustained in a one-vehicle automobile accident.
He was self-employed at H & H Truss Company and was preceded in death by his mother, Cheryl Ailstock Holland.
Survivors include his wife, Jennifer Jordan Holland; father, Clinton Holland of Clarksville; two brothers, Michael Holland of Clarksville and Jimmy Holland of Maumelle; and one sister, Lenora Holland of Clarksville.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Friday, April 28, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dewayne Holland officiating. Burial was in Mt. Vernon cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Chad Kendall, Wilson Overbey, Stephen Graves, Keith Massey, Kevin McGuire, and Brandon McGuire.
Honorary pallbearers were J. L. Holman, Duane McGuire, Eugene McGuire, and Bill McGuire.

Edward E. Hon

Edward Eugene Hon, 80, of Wichita, Kan., died Thursday, April 20, 2006.
A native of London, he was a son of the late James D. and Lydia Mattis Hon, retired aircraft employee and was preceded in death by two brothers, Glen Hon and David Hon; and one sister, Maxine Gobell.
Survivors include his wife, Earnestine Hon; one son and daughter-in-law, David and Kimberly Hon; one brother, Gerald Hon of London; two sisters, Hilda Boyd of London and Wilma Gray of Russellville; two granddaughters, Rebecca and Sabrina Hon; and extended family, Iva Shinn of Russellville, Juanita Hercules of Kansas City, Mo., Geraldine Bell of Tampa, Fla., and Connie Tucker of London.
Funeral was Monday, April 24, in Wichita, Kan.

Edmund W. King

Edmund William King, 54, of Columbus, Ohio, died Tuesday, April 25, 2006, at Riverside Methodist Hospital.
He was born in Worcestor, Mass., the son of the late Jane Edmund King and the late Cecil Gammill King, a 1969 graduate of Upper Arlington High School and a 1972 graduate of the University of the Ozarks in Clarksville. He received a masters of business degree from New Mexico Highlands University and was a retired U. S. Postal Service employee after 18 years of service.
Survivors include his triplets, Thomas Edmund King, Joseph Daniel King and Angela Marie King, all of Delaware, Ohio; and one sister, Carolyn Jane King of Columbus, Ohio.
Graveside services and burial were at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 29, at Union cemetery in Columbus, Ohio, under the direction of Schoedinger Northwest Chapel.
Memorials may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, 6610 Busch Blvd., Columbus, OH 43229.

Floyd A. Fetters

Floyd A. Fetters, 86, of Clarksville died Wednesday, April 26, 2006, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
He was a native of Lamar, World War II veteran with the Army Air Corps, flew 160 missions including three times over Normandy during the day of its invasion, and was preceded in death by one daughter, Joan Fetters; four brothers, Lloyd, Dennis, Charles Ray and David Earl Fetters; and one sister, Maudean Brandon.
Survivors include three sisters, Irene Callahan of Lamar, and Helen Pruitt and Colleen Wilson, both of Pottsville; one brother, Raymond Fetters of Lindsey, Calif.; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Friday, April 28, at Hardwicke Funeral Chapel with Rev. Bill Holt and Lance Fetters officiating.
The body was cremated.

Harold J. Clark

Harold J. Clark, 69, of Mulberry, father of Kathy Marlow of Clarksville, died Wednesday, April 19, 2006, in Ozark.
He was a son of the late Howard and Mable Harkin Clark, native of Leslie, retired, disabled veteran of the U. S. Army having served in special forces-1st Cavalry Division in the Vietnam War and a member of Mulberry First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Millsap Clark; one other daughter, Cindy Clark of Santana, Kan.; two sons, Harold J. Clark Jr. of Calaway, Fla., and Timothy Clark of Alma; two brothers, Lewis Clark of Modesto, Calif., and Max Hall of Ponca City, Okla.; 13 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Monday, April 24, at Mulberry First Assembly of God Church with Rev. Dade Kindrix officiating.
Burial was in Belt cemetery at Ozark under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home.
