Rochelle A. Vail
Funeral for Rochelle Alane Johnston Vail, 50, of Houston, who died Saturday, Aug. 21, 2010, was at Perry County Fellowship Church in Houston followed by burial in Hess cemetery at Coal Hill. Arrangements were under the direction of Roller-McNutt Funeral Home of Conway.
She was a granddaughter of Earl and Mae Bell, native of Wichita, Kan., and former resident of various cities in the United States, Rome, and Italy.
Survivors include her husband, Jimmy Vail; one son, Jason Culpepper and wife, Rachel, of Sherwood; one daughter, Tara Kaup of Houston; one grandson, Carter; parents, Bob and Diane Johnston of Houston; and two sisters, Renae Johnston of Houston and Renita Johnston Watts of Titusville, Fla.
Steven L. Granger
Steven L. Granger, 54, of St. Charles, Mo., father of Steven L. Granger Jr. of Coal Hill, died Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2010, at his home.
Other survivors include his father, Morgan Granger of Mulberry; and three brothers, Eric, Jason, and Mark.
Funeral was Saturday, Sept. 4, at First Lutheran Church in St. Charles, Mo.

Hassel H. Rowland
Hassel Hunt Rowland, 91, died February 16, 2010. She was born August 27, 1918, in Harrison, Arkansas, the daughter of the late Julia Robinson Hunt and George Robert Hunt. Her husband, Roger Denton Rowland, preceded her in death on May 26, 1989.
For many years, she lived in Clarksville, Arkansas, where she and her husband, Roger, operated the Western Auto. She moved to Leeds, Alabama in December of 1998. She was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease in 2001, living with her daughter Patsy for almost four years before transferring to nursing home care. In Arkansas, she was a resident of St. Andrew's Place. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Conway, Arkansas.
She was a talented poet and artist and spent many hours writing her family history. Though a quiet and unassuming person, she charmed everyone she met with her sweet smile and loving disposition.
Survivors include her two daughters, Patsy Desaulniers and her husband, Tom, and Elizabeth Anderson and her husband, David, and their daughter, Mary Margaret, who had a special place as the only grandchild.

A memorial service was held at the First United Methodist Church Chapel, 1100 West Bower, Harrison, Arkansas, at 10:30 AM on February 20, 2010.
John Ike Rogers
John Ike Rogers died February 17, 2010, at his home near Clarksville, AR. Among his survivors are his wife, Teresa Rogers, their children, Jessica Lynn and Ethan Ike Rogers. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert F. (Bob) Rogers Jr. and a younger brother, Bart F. Rogers. He is also survived by his mother, Laura Lee Rogers Tinkle and her husband, James L. Tinkle of Russellville, and his sister, Laura Margaret Rogers Growdon, her husband Dr. James Growdon and their son, William Robert Growdon of Brentwood, Tenn.
Memorials may be made to the John Ike Rogers Memorial Fund at First Security Bank at Clarksville, or to the family at P. O. Box 1111, Russellville, AR 72811. These donations will be given to Ducks Unlimited.
John was a graduate of Russellville High School and the University of Colorado, a tree farmer, bought land and timber, and a former Napa Store owner.
He loved the outdoors and was happiest when he was in the woods.
Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, February 26, 2010, at the Family cemetery near his home under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Kenny Phillips, Van Hill, Glen Lawton, Garrett Hampton, Greg Phillips, Ethan Rogers, Mark Fields, Kenny Ray Phillips, Charles Box, and Stephen Hill.
Very informal dress is requested by the family.
J.C. Campbell
J.C. Campbell, 62, of Clarksville died Monday, Feb. 22, 2010, at his home.
He was a native of Clarksville, son of the late Frank and Ira Wilkins Campbell, Army veteran of the Vietnam War, and a retired transportation broker.
Survivors include his wife, Anita Bunch Campbell; one daughter, Janet Morgan and husband, Kevin, of Stanfield, Ore.; two stepsons, James Sexton and Timothy Sexton, both of Clarksville; one brother, Maxie Don Campbell of California; 13 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Cremation was under the direction of Beasley Crematory.
A memorial service with Masonic rites will be held at a later date.
Local arrangements were under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Louise Carpenter
Louise Carpenter, 90, of Knoxville died Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2010, at her home.
She was a native of Iron Mountain, Ala., daughter of the late William and Mary Ellen Harris Dale, widow of Judd Carpenter, life member of the Disabled American Veterans and Veterans of Foreign Wars, member of the American Legion Auxiliary, active in Girls State activities, volunteer in several organizations, and member and past president of an Extension homemakers club.
She is survived by one son, Judd Carpenter of Knoxville; two brothers, Gilder Dale of Rawlins, Wyo., and Dr. Lou Dale of Rock Springs, Wyo.; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 20, at Hardwicke Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Richard Snyder and Ben Williams officiating. Burial was in Knoxville cemetery.
Pallbearers were David Carpenter, Scott Carpenter, Judd Carpenter, August Roden, Josh Titsworth, Bobby Bacuam, and Larry Carpenter.
Mary L. Hanshew
Mary Lestine Hanshew, 89, of Clarksville died Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2010, at her home.
She was born July 14, 1920, in the Harmony Community, daughter of the late Luster M. and Jessie A. Geisler Coffee, widow of Hoyt D. Hanshew, lifetime member of Harmony Presbyterian Church, retired Clarksville School cafeteria cook, member of Johnson Regional Medical Center Auxiliary, and was preceded in death by one daughter, Danilee Hanshew; and two brothers, James G. Coffee and Harl Coffee.
She was a loving mother and a true and caring friend to the many who were privileged to know her over the years. She was an avid gardener and expert cook.
Survivors include one daughter, Connie A. Satzler and husband, Bill, of Maumelle; two sons, Glenn M. Hanshew and wife, Diane, of Clarksville and David A. Hanshew and wife, Kathy, of Pratt, Kan.; five grandchildren, Tracy Bailey and husband, Kyle, of Girard, Kan., Trent Hanshew and wife, Sarah, of Ann Arbor, Mich., Joshua Asher and wife, Anne, of Salt Lake City, Utah, Nancy Hackney of Chicago, Ill., and Michael Schramm of Greensboro, N.C.; and two great-grandchildren, Garrett and Brittley Bailey of Girard, Kan.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 20, at the Harmony Presbyterian Church with Rev. Tracy Julian officiating.
Burial was in Harmony cemetery under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Active pallbearers were Kyle Bailey, Trent Hanshew, Joshua Asher, David Coffee, Wesley Coffee, and Kent Lewis.
Honorary pallbearers were Jerry Coffee, Kenneth Coffee, Royce Watson, Roscoe Moore, Steve Brown, Chris Brown, and Troy Brown.
