Bobby D. Lee

Bobby D. Lee, 62, of Hot Springs died Saturday, Nov. 6, 1999, at his home.
A native of Clarksville, he was a son of the late Audie and Juanita Phillips Lee, a 1955 graduate of Clarks-
ville High School, Air Force veteran, and a retired car dealer.
He is survived by three daughters, Laura Pifer of North Little Rock, Lisa Renfrow of Little Rock, and Le Anne Freeman of Houston; two brothers, Bill Lee of Van Buren and Mike Lee of Greenwood; three grandchildren, Christine Pifer of North Little Rock and Robert Lee Renfrow and Julie Renfrow, both of Little Rock; and one great-grandchild.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 9, at Hardwicke Funeral Chapel with Rev. David Zeiler officiating. Burial was in Oakland cemetery.
Pallbearers were Larry Cummins, Mark Freeman, Rick Hastings, Robert Renfrow, Mike Pursel, and Carl Hill.
Memorials may be made to Hospice Home Care Inc., 3634 Central Avenue, Suite A, Hot Springs, AR 71913.

Amanda E. Havard

Amanda E. (Mandy) Havard, 27, of Marshall, Texas, formerly of Coal Hill, died Saturday, June 12, 2004.
She was a member of Sulphur Springs Baptist Church of Zavalla, Texas, and the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Willie Earl Rhodes.
Survivors include her husband, Shannon Havard; one son, Colby James of Marshall, Texas; one daughter, Candace Elizabeth of Marshall, Texas; mother, Diane Rhodes of Zavalla, Texas; father and stepmother, Harold and Pearlene Pierce of DeBerry, Texas; father-in-law and mother-in-law, James and Nelda Havard of Coal Hill; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Keri and Jonathan Wilson of Clarksville and Vanessa Havard of Huntington, Texas.
Graveside services were at 2 p.m. Monday, June 14, at Walnut Springs cemetery in DeBerry, Texas, with Rev. Buddy Briggs officiating.

Daisy Lee Osborn

Daisy Lee Osborn, 92, of Russellville, whose daughter and son-in-law, Wanda and Rev. J. W. McEntyre, reside in Clarksville, died Saturday, June 19, 2004.
A native of Altus, she was a daughter of the late Charlie and Ethel Carroll Canady, widow of Marvin Osborn, member of the Pentecostal Church and was preceded in death by one grandson, Zachary Osborn.
She is survived by one other daughter and son-in-law, Mary and John Lake of Little Rock; three sons and one daughter-in-law, Charles Osborn of Memphis, Tenn., James and Bobbye Osborn of Atkins, and Freddy Osborn of Mississippi; 15 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and numerous great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 23, at Humphrey Chapel in Russellville with Rev. Bob Branch and Rev. J. W. McEntyre officiating. Burial will be in McFadden cemetery at Dover.
Pallbearers will be John Lake Jr., Phillip Lake, Wesley Parks, Randy Osborn, Allen Osborn, and Charlie Osborn.

Dolfus Strope

Dolfus Strope, 87, of Altus died Monday, June 14, 2004, at Mercy Hospital/Turner Memorial in Ozark.
He was a supervisor for Cargill, Navy veteran of World War II, native of the Spadra Community and son of the late Sylvester and Ruthie Bailey Strope.
Survivors include one brother, Arlon Strope of Altus; four nieces, Dorothy Perry of Altus, Charlotte Delaney and Ruth Ann Bennett, both of Ozark, and Linda Epperson of Hartman; one nephew, John Strope of Springdale; and companion, Christine Murphy of Altus.
Graveside services and burial were at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 17, at Nichols Chapel cemetery with Rev. Mike Pennington officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home of Ozark.

Hubert J. Nicholas

Hubert J. Nicholas, 84, of Van Buren died Saturday, June 19, 2004.
He was a native of Clarksville, retired coal miner from Evans Coal Company and a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, the Civilian Conservation Corps Company No. 3795, the United Mine Workers Association, and Sebastian Masonic Lodge No. 706 where he was a 32nd degree Mason. He was preceded in death by two sons and one daughter.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Ruth Center Nicholas; one son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Vikki Nicholas of Baytown, Texas, and Mary and Scott Keys of Muskogee, Okla.; and three grandchildren, Kristy Nicholas of Houston, Texas, Brent Nicholas of Baytown, Texas, and Sally Keys of Muskogee, Okla.
Funeral was at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 22, at Edwards Funeral Home in Fort Smith. Burial was in Roselawn cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Brad Brown, Jerry Duncan, Jack Lacey, Roger Pringnitz, Grady Snider, Buck Summers and Jerry Wallen.
Honorary pallbearers were Friends of Devil's Den, J. D. Brown, Jim Byers, Pete Dell, Herman Edgin, John Golhar, Gary Hall, August Khilling, James Moses, Roy Nichols, John Quinley, Orville Taylor and James Wigley.
Memorials may be made to Friends of Devil's Den, Attention: JoAnne Miller, 1133 West Arkansas 74, West Fork, AR 72774, or the charity of the donor's choice.

Mary Etta Coon

Mary Etta Coon, 87, of Clarksville died Friday, June 18, 2004, at Countryside Manor Nursing Home.
She was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses.
Survivors include her husband, Rex Coon; one daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca and Bradley Ring of Sand Springs, Okla.; and three grandchildren.
The body was cremated. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Local arrangements were under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.

Mary Jo Hurley

Mary Jo Tolbert Hurley, 67, of Clarksville died Wednesday, June 16, 2004, at her home.
She was a native of Clarksville, daughter of the late Horace J. and Georgia Mae Ricketts Tolbert, member of the First United Methodist Church, 1954 graduate of Clarksville High School, member of the basketball team and Beta Club, cheerleader for four years, graduate of the University of the Ozarks, former physical education teacher at Clarksville High School, lifeguard at Clarksville Swimming Pool for several years and was the recipient of the Pillar of Progress Award for volunteer work in 1991.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Fenton and David Little and Libby and Scott Fogg, all of Clarksville; one son and daughter-in-law, Bobby and Trish Hurley of Clarksville; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Sue and Bill Bennett of Knoxville and Jonnie and Kent Westbrook of Little Rock; eight grandchildren, Brooke, Brittany, Blake and Lil' Bob Hurley, Dylan Hanson, Emily Little, and Chyanne and Hannah Fogg; and one aunt, Opal Tolbert of Clarksville.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Monday, June 21, at the Clarksville Church of Christ with Rev. Tom Underhill officiating.
Burial was in Oakland cemetery under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Active pallbearers were Dale Meek, Donald Meek, Lonnie Qualls, Dayne Phillips, Ray Black, Billy Willis, Bill Bennett and Kent Westbrook.
Honorary pallbearers were Harold Lewis, Ted Young, Harold Johnson, Liz Meek, Kanna Lou Phillips, Levada Qualls, Veda Meek, Bobbie Jean Black, and caretakers, Pauline Fetters, Marie Clayborn, Chris Harris, Audrey Sanderford, Carole Ragsdale and Carree Bunton.
Memorials may be made to the Johnson County Boys Club, P. O. Box 301, Clarksville, AR 72830 or Johnson County Girls Club, 800 Elberta Street, Lamar, AR 72846.

Maxine Snider

Maxine Miracle Wasson Snider, 85, of Fayetteville died Monday, June 21, 2004, at Fayetteville.
She was born at Hartman, daughter of the late Hugh A. and Gladys Adkins Miracle, widow of Joaquin O. Wasson and Carl P. Fry, member of the University Baptist Church in Fayetteville, former member of Pen Women of America, published writer of folklore and poetry, and a prize-winning photographer.
She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, David J. and Janice Wasson of Fayetteville; one grandson and spouse, John David and Jenny Wasson of Fayetteville; one granddaughter and spouse, Jaimi and Jonathan Warner of Fayetteville; three great-grandchildren, Austin Wasson of Springfield, Mo., and Emily Halle and Allison Halle, both of Fayetteville; two sisters, Lee Miracle Lewis and Carolyn Miracle Ross, both of Houston, Texas; one nephew, Doug Lewis of Houston, Texas; and one aunt, Elizabeth Leiter of San Angelo, Texas.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 24, at University Baptist Church in Fayetteville followed by burial at 3 p.m. at Woodland cemetery north of Clarksville. Arrangements are under the direction of Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home in Springdale.
Visitation will be from 3-7 p.m. Wednesday, June 23, at Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home.
