Lisa D. Shepherd

Lisa Diane Phillips Shepherd, 37, of Coal Hill died Saturday, Sept. 8, 2001, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
A native of San Pablo, Calif., she was a Baptist and was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Arch and Crystal Shepherd.
Survivors include one son, Levi Wayne Sexton of Flat Rock; parents, Mike and Linda Shepherd of Flat Rock; grandparents, Faye and Harvey Severn of London; one sister, Tammy Skolarski of Altus; three brothers, Michael Lee Shepherd of Altus, Larry James Smith of Clarksville, and Jody Smith of Flat Rock; and several uncles and aunts.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 10, at Hardwicke Funeral Chapel with Rev. Dewayne Holland officiating. Burial was in Hess cemetery at Coal Hill.
Active pallbearers were Jimmy Jack Butler, Billy Middleton, David Lee Dunlap, R. D. Dunlap, Daniel Dunlap, Andy Butler, and David Bruce Dunlap.
Honorary pallbearers were Mark Lawrence, Gary Bell, and Tim Beaman.

Nell Gift

Nell Gift, 67, of Alix, mother of Andrew Day of Lamar, died Thursday, Sept. 6, 2001, at a Fort Smith hospital.
A native of Spearman, Texas, she was a daughter of the late John and Ella Faus Bushman, widow of W. L. Gift, member of the Alix Assembly of God Church, a restaurant and nursing home cook, and was employed as a driver for Cass Job Corps.
Survivors include three other sons, Bill Gift of Alix, John Gift of Donna, Texas, and Lindon Day of Alix; two sisters, Sara Nealy of Canadian, Texas, and Grace Gift of Balko, Okla.; two brothers, George Bushman of Canadian, Texas, and Benny Bushman of Stinnet, Texas; and two grandchildren, Keith Day and Brad Day, both of Lamar.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 10, at Shaffer Funeral Home Chapel in Ozark with Rev. C. E. Simpson and Rev. Nancy Holman officiating. Burial was in the Houston cemetery at Alix.
Pallbearers were Jason Runion, Kevin Hurt, Dean Holman, Lynn Day, Carl Day, Alvin Bushman, and John Bushman.
Memorials may be made to the Alix Assembly of God Church.

Robert Paul Sinor

Robert Paul Sinor, 32, of Clarksville died Monday, Sept. 3, 2001, in Fort Smith.
He was a factory employee and Army veteran.
He is survived by one son, Robert Heath Sinor of Clarksville; parents, Robert Earl and Dolly Sinor of Clarksville and Linda Jo Chick Sinor of Clarksville; one sister and brother-in-law, Carmen Elizabeth and David Lee Tilley of Texas; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Christopher Lee and Janet Sinor of Clarksville and Harley Douglas Sinor Clarksville; one nephew, Christopher Allen Sinor of Clarksville; and two nieces, Jessi Lynn and Abigale Leann Sinor, both of Clarksville.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 7, at Roller-Cox Chapel with Rev. Leo Villines officiating. Burial was in Yale cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Lee Tilley, Brent Gregory, Jimmy Butler, Stephen Sinor, Harley Sinor, and Travis Gregory.
Honorary pallbearers were David Hawkins, Scott Green, Jamey Chesser, Shawn Pentzer, and Hank Johnson.

Zearl Freeman

Zearl Freeman, 90, of Lamar died Saturday, Sept. 8, 2001, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
He was a son of the late John E. and Rebecca Stewart Freeman, retired timber employee, and attended the Lee's Chapel Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include his widow, Thursetta Cooper Freeman; three daughters, Virginia Lee Hampton, Frankie Marie Barber, and Carlene Mason, all of Lamar; two sons, Dale Allen Freeman and Ricky John Freeman, both of Lamar; one sister, Lois Etna Avery of California; 11 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 11, at the Lee's Chapel Assembly of God Church with Rev. Amos Pledger officiating.
Burial was in Annie's Chapel cemetery under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Frankie Ray Keylon, Gary Freeman, Don Ray Freeman, Johnny Keylon, Leland Freeman, and Ronald Hale.

Imogene N. James

Imogene Needham James, 80, of Clarksville died Monday, Sept. 10, 2001 at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
She was a member of First Baptist Church in Clarksville, daughter of the late Lee Roy and Minnie Wages Needham, and widow of Paul James.
She is survived by three daughters, Paula Wills of Clarksville, Betty New of Denton, Texas, and Molly McClaine of Clarksville; one son, Luke James of Blue Springs, Mo.; wo sisters, Selma Davis of Marlow, Okla., and Velma Benter of Calamesa, Calif.; nine grandchildren; and six great-grand children.
Graveside services and burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 13, at Hartman cemetery with Dr. Robert Brown and Rev. Billy Usery officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Carl McClaine, Douglas Wills, Gerrad James, Justin James, Luke James and Jason James.

Eugene H. Strackbein

Eugene H. Strackbein, 66, of Hartman died Monday, May 6, 2002, at his home.
He was a son of the late William A. and Selma Anderegg Strackbein, retired from the Air Force, and was preceded in death by two brothers, Elmer Strackbein and Gilbert Strackbein.
Survivors include his widow, Nancy T. Sanders Strackbein; four daughters, Nancy Singleton of Miami, Fla., Kathy Dodge and Dr. Jeanne Strackbein, both of Clarksville, and Lynn Moczygenba of San Antonio, Texas; two sons, Russell Bellinger and Wade Bellinger, both of Hartman; one sister, Opal M. Harper of Harper, Texas; 15 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, May 10, at Roller-Cox Chapel with Terry Singleton officiating.

Flois Wish Smith

Flois Wish Smith, 72, of Clarksville died Wednesday, May 1, 2002, at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock.
She was a native of Clarksville, daughter of the late J. C. and Loda Cecil Wish, graduate of Clarksville High School, member of the First United Methodist Church, and was preceded in death by one sister, Lorraine Wish O'Neal.
Survivors include one daughter, Carolyn (C. J.) Smith of Benton; two sons and daughters-in-law, John Allen and Geneva Smith of Clarksville and Grant and Penny Smith of Russellville; two grandchildren and spouse, Jevin Allen Smith of Little Rock and Elizabeth and Josh Bruins of Fayetteville.
Graveside services and burial were at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 4, at Oakland cemetery with Rev. Lowell Eaton officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.

John Arthur Davis

John Arthur Davis, 64, of Mountain Home, formerly of Clarksville, died Friday, May 3, 2002, at Baxter Regional Medical Center in Mountain Home.
A native of Coal Hill, he was a son of the late John and Violet Hammonds Davis, 1957 graduate of Clarksville High School, lifelong resident of Arkansas having moved from Little Rock to Mountain Home in 2000, and vice president of computer operations for Regions Bank of Little Rock.
Survivors include his widow, Dorothy Allison Davis; one son and daughter-in-law, Shane and Lara Davis of Mountain Home; two grandchildren, Jacob Shane Davis and David Stout, both of Mountain Home; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Sam and Carlynn Davis of Bryant and Jimmy Davis of Virginia Beach, Va.; three nieces, Debbie Leigh of Park City, Utah, Melissa Graves of Clarksville, and Stephanie L. Edwards of Clarksville; and two nephews, Hunter L. Davis of Bryant and Tim Schreckhise of Little Rock.
Graveside services and burial were at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 7, at Oakland cemetery with Rev. Michael Shy officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to Hospice or the American Cancer Society.
