Jamie C. Whittington
Jamie Chandler Whittington was born on September 23, 1958, in Plainview, Texas, to Polly Cooley Chandler and the late V.N. (Bob) Chandler. She departed this life on September 29, 2010, at Countryside Manor in Clarksville, AR. She was preceded in death by her father and brother-in-law, John Everhart.
At an early age, Jamie was a graduate of Dardanelle High School in 1978, and a member of the band. She also was an active member of the St. Martin's in the Fields Church in Southlake, TX.
Her family wrote: "Jamie's generosity and kind heart were an inspiration to all who knew her. She lived her life with integrity and bravery."
She leaves to cherish her sweet memories, two daughters: Maegan Vencill (Brandon) and Emily Whittington of Dallas, TX; mother, Polly Cooley Chandler of Russellville, AR; two sisters, Kay Chandler Merritt (David) of Clarksville, AR and Lisa Chandler Everhart of Russellville, AR; two grandchildren, Shane Patterson and Madalynn Vencill; a host of nieces and nephews.
A memorial service for Jamie beginning her new life was held Friday, October 1, 2010, 3:00 p.m. at Cornwell Chapel, Dardanelle with Bro. Ray Edwards officiating.

Rita Kay Davis
Rita Kay Davis, 48, of Paris, whose sister and brother-in-law, Carol and Jim Looney, reside in Clarksville, died Thursday, Sept. 30, 2010, in Clinton.
She was a native of Fort Smith, daughter of the late John Eugene and Patsy Joyce Davis Nehus, and of the Christian faith.
She is survived by three sons, Cecil Roy Davis and Brian Davis, both of Paris, and Mitchell Davis of Barling; two other sisters and brothers-in-law, Suzan and Larry Naegle of Prairie View and LeAnn and William Jones of Paris; one brother and sister-in-law, John Alan and Kathy Davis of Paris; one grandson, Destin Davis; and companion, Gaylon Bennett.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 6, at Baxley cemetery in Paris under the direction of Roller Funeral Home of Paris.
Pallbearers will be Austin Weeks, Toby Woods, Wayne Davis, Ryan Edmonson, Jonathan Binz, and Cody Lukas.
William A. Diffee
William A. Diffee, 64, of Van Buren, father of Bradley M. Diffee of Clarksville, died Sunday, Sept. 19, 2010, in Fort Smith.
He was born at Elgin Air Force Base in Florida, son of the late V.A. (Burt) Diffee, former resident of Ozark, previously employed as a counselor at Cass Job Corps Center, and was preceded in death by one nephew, Ronnie German; and one great-niece, Ashley Rudder.
Other survivors include his wife, Marilyn Diffee; one daughter, Shannon L. Price of St. Albans, W. Va.; mother, Alma Diffee of Oakland, Tenn.; three sisters, Carol Foster of Paragould, Charlotte German of Oakland, Tenn., and Marilyn Osburne of Memphis, Tenn.; two grandsons, Damian Price of St. Albans, W.Va., and Damian A. Diffee of Clarksville; seven nieces; and two nephews.
A memorial service will be held in Tennessee at a later date.
Dorothy M. Harkreader
Dorothy M. Harkreader, 77, of Fort Smith died Saturday, Oct. 2, 2010, at St. Edward Mercy Medical Center in Fort Smith.
She was native of Hartman, daughter of the late George and Dollie Linton Acord, former security guard at Whirlpool, member of the American Association of Retired Persons, attended First Baptist Church in Fort Smith, and was preceded in death by one son, Allen Harkreader.
Survivors include four daughters, Peggy Holmes of Breaux Bridge, La., Linda Harkreader of Mountain View, and Jane Burgess and Pee Wee Stroud, both of Clarksville; two grandchildren, James Warren of Washington, D.C., and Dillon Burgess of Fort Smith; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friend, Annie Sparks of Fort Smith.
A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 4, at Hardwicke Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Larry Horne officiating.
Doyle Daymond Evans
Doyle Daymond Evans, 87, of Hartman died Saturday, Sept. 25, 2010.
He was born in Hartman, son of the late George W. and Florence Bell Evans, a World War II Navy veteran, coal miner, retired employee of A&P Warehouse in Kansas City, Kan., and was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Sarenah (Sally) Brown Evans; five brothers, Dewey, Lowell, Ermal, Robbie and Donald Evans; and three sisters, Vera Emery, Biddie Hoover and Anna Jean Salerino.
Survivors include four sons, Jerry Brown of Meeker, Colo., George Evans of Hartman, Larry Evans of Lavaca, and James Evans of Bella Vista; one daughter, Janet Evans of Hartman; 10 grandchildren, Nick Brown of Grand Junction, Colo., Rene Heibert of Twin Falls, Idaho, Daymond Evans and Ginger Larsen of Pea Ridge, Jerry Rodgers of Fort Smith, Autumn Hunt of Ozark, Amber Vameter and Zechariah Evans of Lavaca, and Heather Hudson and Whitney Eyerman of Charleston; 23 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 9, at Hess cemetery at Coal Hill under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Harold R. Puckett Jr.
Harold R. Puckett Jr., 82, of Pottsville, formerly of Clarksville, died Sunday, Oct. 3, 2010, at Stella Manor Nursing Home in Russellville.
He was an Army veteran, member of Pottsville Presbyterian Church, refrigeration mechanic, and preceded in death by his wife, Frona Ledbetter Puckett; and three sisters, Gertrude Thomas, Carmen Dunlap, and Elise Parker.
Survivors include one daughter, Della Marie Puckett of Dardanelle; two sons, Claude Harold Puckett of Pottsville and Jerard C. Puckett of Cumberland, Md.; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 9, at Pottsville Presbyterian Church with Rev. Howard Wheeler officiating.

Jimmie D. Demmitt
Jimmie Daniel Demmitt, 76, whose sister and brother-in-law, Marie and Paul Morrison of Ottawa, Kan., are former residents of Knoxville, died Friday, Oct. 1, 2010, in Topeka, Kan.
He was a native of Chester, Okla., son of the late James A. and Hazel Timblin Demmitt, Quaker, cowboy, and had resided in Arkansas the last 28 years prior to moving to Topeka, Kan. He was preceded in death by two sons, Duane and Lavern; one grandson, Gabriel Demmitt; one sister, Norma Jean Pearce; one brother, Mike Demmitt; and wives, Dorothy Louise Castleberry Demmitt and Kathleen Kinder Demmitt, and the mother of his children, Rita Taylor.
Survivors include two daughters, Tammy Demmitt and Tina (Ron) Cramer of Topeka, Kan.; two other sisters, Dorothy Bennett of Rantoul, Kan., and Margaret (Daryl Barnes of Baldwin City, Kan.; one brother, Charles (Pat) Demmitt of Baldwin City, Kan.; three granddaughters; one great-granddaughter; and several stepchildren and step-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 6, at Eddy-Birchard Funeral Home in Osawatomie, Kan., with burial in Spring Grove Quaker cemetery in Lane, Kan.

Pablo Rodriguez, 96, of Clarksville died Monday, Sept. 27, 2010, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
He was born June 29, 1914 at Las Pomas Municipio Tephunes Dgo.
Survivors include six daughters, Modesta, Julia, Esperanza, Ines, Betzabe, and Rafaela; and seven sons, Juan Rodriguez, Jesus Rodriguez, Benito Rodriguez, Mario Rodriguez, Gerardo Rodriguez. Mareelo Rodriguez and Gilberto.
Funeral was at 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 1, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. Burial was in Holy Redeemer Catholic cemetery under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Betty Jean Kendall
Betty Jean Kendall, 76, of Clarksville died Tuesday, March 2, 2010, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
She was a daughter of the late Ralph and Lucille Marhoffer Shaffer, widow of Billy Joe (Peanut) Kendall, Baptist, graduate of Mentor High in Ohio, and was a retired school teacher after 31 years of service.
She is survived by two sons, Eddie (Elaine) Kendall and Paul Kendall, all of Clarksville; grandchildren, Cory and Jennifer Kendall, Chad and Sara Kendall, Chris and Vashti Kendall, Alicia and Jeremy Roberts, Heather Kendall, and Tiffany Kendall; and great-grandchildren, Peyton, Shelby, Ethan, Britlyn, Kendall, Connor, and Londyn.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Friday, March 5, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Amos Pledger officiating. Burial was in Stillwell cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Eddie Thomas, Johnny Smith, Robert King, Levon Bean, Sidney Hicks, and Willie Pitts.
Honorary pallbearers were Cory, Chad, and Chris Kendall and Jeremy Roberts.
