Corene C. Huff

Corene Crossno Huff, 89, died Thursday, Feb. 14, 2008.

She was a native of Denning, daughter of the late Samuel Jasper and Cora Ledgerwood Crossno, widow of Junior Gervis Huff, graduate of Altus High School, former resident of Clarksville, Superior, Wyo., and Dragerton, Utah, seamstress, active member of Living Water Baptist Church in Sunnyside, Utah, Sunday school teacher, former member of Altus Baptist Church, and was preceded in death by one daughter, Ada Jean Huff; and ten brothers and sisters.

Survivors include one son and one daughter, Bo Huff and Carolyn (Chuck) Abeyta, both of East Carbon, Utah; 12 grandchildren, Terri, Doug, Sherri, Shelli, Lisa, Michelle, Amy, Kendall, James, Maddy, Junior, and Becky; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Funeral was at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 19, at Living Water Baptist Church in Sunnyside, Utah.

Burial was in Valley View cemetery in Sunnyside, Utah, under the direction of Mitchell Funeral Home of Price, Utah.

Donald G. Hickerson

Donald Gene Hickerson, 76, of Lamar died Sunday, Feb. 17, 2008, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.

He was a native of Oklahoma City, Okla., son of the late Lester and Bella Jo Herndon Hickerson, former member of the Arkansas National Guard in Little Rock, and was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Lee Strelsky Hickerson.

Survivors include two sons, Kim Hickerson of London and Michael Wayne Hickerson of Vista, Calif.; one brother, Lester Hickerson of Hot Springs; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Private graveside services were held Monday, Feb. 18, at the Brock cemetery.

Arrangements were under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.

Harley E. Mulanax

Harley Elliot Mulanax, 57, of Clarksville died Monday, Feb. 11, 2008, at his home.

He was a native of Loyalton, Calif., barber, and owner of a local barbershop.

Survivors include his wife, Marilyn Mulanax; two daughters, Tricia Sturges and Shelly Farmer; two sons, Chad Chrisman and Mike Weathers; one sister, Dorene Kelly; one brother, Audie Mulanax; seven grandchildren, Gabriel, Elijah, Tyler, Maycee, Shannon, Shayla, and Tyler; and aunt, Doris Palmer.

A memorial service and visitation were held from 4-6 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, at Roller-Cox Funeral Chapel.

Katherine J. Dorney

Katherine Jean Dorney, 75, of Hartman died Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2008, at Ozark.

She was born at Ozark to Charlie and Flossie Belt Nichols, widow of James Dorney, and was preceded in death by one daughter, Katherine Carol Dorney.

She is survived by three daughters, Kimberly Moore and Linda Haasis of Hartman and Karen Carlisle of Coal Hill; four sisters, Bobbie Askins and Mabel Skidgel of Coal Hill, Wanda Infante of Vacaville, Calif., and Irene Newton of Alma; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 15, at the Kendall cemetery.

The body was cremated. Local arrangements were under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home of Ozark.

Lena Marie Crotts

Lena Marie Crotts, 84, of Lamar died Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2008, at Clarksville Convalescent Home.

She was a daughter of the late Bessie A. (Davis) and Albert E. Wilson Jr., widow of Ralph C. Crotts, member of Holman Freewill Baptist Church, gardener, farmer, employee of Morton Frozen Foods for several years, and was preceded in death by one sister, Frankie Clark; two brothers, Ray Wilson and Herbert Wilson; and one son-in-law, Jim Wright.

Survivors include two daughters, Jeanette Wright of Clarksville and Linda Pye and husband, Quentin, of Weatherford, Okla.; three sons, Kenneth Crotts of Lamar, Mitchell Crotts and wife, Connie, of Waldron, and Robert Crotts and wife, Dena, of Tampa, Fla.; one sister, Hattie Palmer of Lamar; eight grandchildren, Douglas Wright, Porsha Russell, Jason Pye, Jeremy Pye, Andrew Crotts, Clayton Crotts, Paul Crotts, and Matthew Crotts; three great-grandchildren, Noah Wright, Tanner Russell, and Anna Grace Wright; and one brother-in-law, Leon Clark of Tulsa, Okla.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 22, at the Holman Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Geno Johnston and Rev. Herb Tilley officiating.

Burial will be in Holman cemetery under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 21, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home.

Mae E. Covey

Mae Elizabeth Covey, 93, of Hartman died Monday, Feb. 11, 2008, at her home.

She was a native of Mount Pleasant, Pa., attended Stillwell Bible Baptist Church, was a Sunday school teacher, junior church teacher, and held Bible clubs for boys and girls in her home, was a hospice volunteer in Escondido, Calif., and was preceded in death by three husbands, Joseph Helmken, George Foster, and Cecil Covey; one daughter, Almira Rose; two sons, Charles Helmken and John Lee Helmken; and one grandson, Joseph Harris.

She is survived by two daughters, Margaret Wilkes of Las Vegas, Nev., and Jane Crutchfield of Coal Hill; one son, Roger Foster of Spokane, Wash.; 25 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral was at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 18, at Stillwell Bible Baptist Church with burial at Greenwood Memorial Park cemetery in San Diego, Calif., under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home.

Ollie Karstetter

Ollie C. Karstetter, 93, of Clarksville died Thursday, Feb. 14, 2008, at Clarksville Convalescent Home.

She was a daughter of the late Richard and Anzy Jane Johnson Hull, widow of Marvin Karstetter, retired employee of Clarksville Shoe Factory, and was preceded in death by four sisters, Ruby Harmon, Harriet Terry, Clara Carpenter, and Martha Ann Hull; and five brothers, William (Bill) Hull, John Hull, Chester Hull, Major Hull, and Andrew Hull.

She is survived by two daughters, Charlotte Freeman of Hagarville and Phyllis McCarley of Sherwood; one son, Richard E. Karstetter of North Little Rock; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral was at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, at First Landmark Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Vernon Bass officiating.

Burial was in Oakland cemetery under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.

Active pallbearers were Jimmy Gould, David Handley, Dale Caldwell, Ronnie Ashlock, Rip Teal, and Dale Ashlock.

Honorary pallbearers were Wayne Pyron and Wendell Lee.

Memorials may be made to First Landmark Missionary Baptist Church, P. O. Box 589, Clarksville, AR 72830.

T. J. Duvall

T. J. Duvall, infant son of Angela Robbins and Tyson Duvall of Subiaco, died Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2008, in Little Rock.

He was born in Russellville on Oct. 24, 2007, and was preceded in death by a grandmother, Rita Darline Duvall.

Other survivors include one sister, Alyssa Miller of Subiaco; two brothers, Michael Miller and Trey Duvall of Subiaco; grandparents, Pam Crow and Mike Smith of Coal Hill and Roger and Heather Robbins of Fort Smith; and great-grandparents, Jim and Jerry Bowman and Kathy and Dick Robbins of Paris, and Ruby Crow of Coal Hill.

Graveside services and burial were at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 15, at the cemetery Ridge cemetery in Etna. Arrangements were under the direction of Roller Funeral Home of Paris.
