Randall R. McKinnis
Randall Ray McKinnis, 75, of Clarksville died Tuesday, June 20, 2006, in Clarksville.
A native of Calion, he was a son of the late Clifford and Ola Francis Dunn McKinnis, former resident of Mena, United States Army veteran, member of the First United Methodist Church, retired plant manager for Southwestern Bell, and was preceded in death by his wife, Mattie Blalock McKinnis.
Survivors include one son, Randall McKinnis of Knoxville, Tenn.; two daughters, Deborah Castleman of Clarksville and Rhonda Thornton of Little Rock; one sister, Loretta Rucker; and three grandchildren, Amber Morgan, Mark Morgan and Mattie Thornton.
Graveside services and burial were at 10 a.m. Friday, June 23, at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Mena with Rev. Gary Harrison officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Beasley-Wood Funeral Home of Mena.
Military honors were conducted by Polk County veterans organizations, American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and Disabled American Veterans.
Honorary pallbearers were Leroy Thomas, Earl Blemmel, Wayne Dingler, Travis Ross, Ted Livin, Paul Smith, Chris Case, and Howard Kipple.
William A. Verwiebe
William Albert Verwiebe, 77, of Clarksville died Wednesday, June 28, 2006, at Sparks Regional Medical Center in Fort Smith.
He was retired from the logging and Boeing industry, Baptist, son of the late Anthony Albert and Ollie Pearson Verwiebe, and was preceded in death by one brother, Larry Verwiebe, and three sisters, Zelda Albee, Helen Standridge, and Maralee Verwiebe.
Survivors include his wife, Sandra Inman Verwiebe; three daughters, Cindy Roberts and husband, Jim, of Lamar, and Naomi Hodges and husband, Kelly, and Dottie Verwiebe, all of Clarksville; three brothers, Carl Verwiebe of Clarksville, Sonny Verwiebe of California, and Johnny Verwiebe of Lamar; two sisters, Nell Adams of Clarksville and Ruby Pfeifer of Washington; three grandchildren, Kaleb Verwiebe of Clarksville, Spc. William Albert Groboski and wife, Brittany, of Germany, and Darren Groboski of North Carolina; one great-grandchild, Hunter Groboski of Lavaca; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 8, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel.
Flynn C. Kinman
Flynn Carlisle Kinman, 89, of Clarksville died Thursday, June 15, 2006.
He was a native of Newark, served as a pilot in the U. S. Army Air Corps during World War II, owned and operated Oklahoma Tire and Supply Company in Clarksville from 1946-1979, served eight years on the War Memorial Stadium Commission, past member of the Clarksville Lion's Club, elder of the River Valley Church of Christ and served on the president's council at Harding University.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years Lola Smith Kinman; four daughters and sons-in-law, Cheryl and Ryan Touchton of Marietta, Ga., Jan and Rick Harris of Brentwood, Tenn., Lynn and Jim Brown of Oak Harbor, Wash., and Tina and Marc Muncy of Clarksville; eight grandchildren, Josh Touchton and wife, Heather, of Tarpon Springs, Fla., Toria Boyd and husband, Lance, of Medina, Tenn., Matt Brown and wife, Amy, Bekka Gresham and husband, John, and Benjamin Brown, all of Rochester, Mich., Ericka Maple and husband, Paul, and Hunter Harris and wife, Holly, all of Nashville, Tenn., and Ragan Muncy of Clarksville; eight great-grandchildren, Hannah and Fischer Touchton of Tarpon Springs, Fla., Hayden, Cabot and Ella Boyd of Medina, Tenn., Kathleen and Dale Brown of Rochester, Mich., and Riley Maple of Nashville, Tenn.
Graveside services and burial were at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 17, at Oakland cemetery with Jack English officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Lillie May Smith
Lillie May Seyfert Smith, 91, of Clarksville died Sunday, June 18, 2006, at Countryside Manor Nursing Home.
She was a member of World Wide Church of God, widow of Bee Andy Smith, daughter of the late Clement and Callie Brown Seyfert, and was preceded in death by two daughters, Emma Freeman and Betty Bramel; one son, Roland Davis; three brothers, Theodore Griffith, Raymond Seyfert and Eugene Seyfert; and one sister, Susie Letney.
Survivors include two daughters, Anna Bean and husband, Levon, of Clarksville and Peggy Corlew and husband, Emmett, of Danville, Ala.; five sons, James Smith and wife, Anna, of Tulsa, Okla., Johnnie Smith and wife, Bertha, and Donald Smith and wife, Deloris, all of Clarksville; Jack Smith and wife, Johnnie Mae, of Springdale, and Gary Smith and wife, Lou Ann, of Lamar; son-in-law, Bobby Freeman of Clarksville; daughter-in-law, Edna Davis of Clarksville; one brother, Carl Seyfert of Seminole, Okla.; 27 grandchildren; 51 great-grandchildren; and 20 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 21, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Amos Pledger officiating. Burial will be in Russell cemetery at Ozone.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Willia M. Dahne
Willia Mae Dahne, 93, of Hartman died Saturday, June 17, 2006, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
She was a member of the Fernwood Assembly of God Church, daughter of the late Joseph Andrew and Georgie A. Franklin Hunt, widow of Charlie F. Dahne, and was preceded in death by two sons, William Howard Shaddon and Truman Lee Posey.
Survivors include four daughters, Georgia Fletcher of Delaware, Ann Sears and Lillie Hogue, both of Hartman, and Patricia Wetherford of Anna, Texas; one brother, Claud Murphy of Dallas, Texas; one sister, Macel Wallas of Garland, Texas; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 20, at Fernwood Assembly of God Church with Rev. Joy Goodin and Rev. Travis George officiating.
Burial was in Kendall cemetery under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Active pallbearers were James Hogue, Larry Hogue, Morris Fletcher, Johnny Hogue, Lillis Wetherford, and Raymond Hogue.
Honorary pallbearers were Charles Sears, Phillip Stepp, William Ables Jr., Jake Hill, Jim Pruitt, and Ronald Taylor.
Anna N. Raska
Anna Laura Norvell Raska, 86, died April 27, 2006, in Tulsa, Okla.
She was a native of Clarksville, daughter of the late Luther and Jewell Norvell, widow of Godfrey Raska, 1937 graduate of Clarksville High School, and was preceded in death by one son, Richard; and one sister, Birdie Lee Johnson.
She is survived by one daughter, Madelyn of the home; two sons, Michael of Tulsa, Okla., and Robert of Phoenix, Ariz.; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Anay Silva
Anay Silva, infant daughter of Suzanne Agilar and Fernando Silva of Clarksville, died Wednesday, June 7, 2006, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
Other survivors include grandfather, Marvel Garcia of Clarksville; and two brothers, Manvel Silva and Eduardo Silva of Clarksville.
Graveside services and burial were at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 8, at the Holy Redeemer Catholic cemetery under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Cleo Jim Kjormoe
Cleo J. (Jim) Kjormoe, 76, formerly of Clarksville, died Monday, June 12, 2006, in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Survivors are his wife of 60 years Nozetta Kjormoe; one daughter, Frances Hessee of Corpus Christi, Texas; one son, David Kjormoe of New Orleans, La.; one grandson, Richard Hessee; and one great-grandson, Preston Hessee.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Maxwell P. Dunne Funeral Service of Corpus Christi, Texas.
Delmer L. Freeman Sr.
Delmer Lee Freeman Sr., 68, of Lamar died Sunday, June 11, 2006, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
He was a retired Firestone mechanic and farmer, attended Lee's Chapel Assembly of God Church, and was preceded in death by his father, Lee Freeman; one brother, Lonnie Freeman; and one great-granddaughter, Allison Payne.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Harris Freeman; two daughters, Jackie Harris and husband, Lonnie, and Becky Hardgrave and husband, Mark, all of Lamar; two sons, Delmer (Bud) Freeman Jr. and wife, Geneva, and Luther Freeman and wife, Natalie, all of Lamar; mother, Essie Thomas Freeman of Lamar; one brother, Don Freeman of Lamar; nine grandchildren, Christina Harris, Valerie Turner, Dustin Harris, Bridget Harris, Lynn Demmert, Charly Ward, Keith Ward Jr., Danielle Freeman, and Natalia Hardgrave; and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 15, at the Lee's Chapel Assembly of God Church with Rev. Dewayne Holland officiating.
Burial will be in Annie's Chapel cemetery under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Delmer (Bud) Freeman Jr., Luther Freeman, Mike Freeman, Jason Freeman, Dustin Harris, and Mark Payne.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, June 14, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
