John J. Kennelly II
John Joseph Kennelly II, 72, of London died Friday, Sept. 24, 2010, at his home.
He was born in San Diego, Calif., graduate of Freemont (California) High School, member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at Clarksville, and a real estate broker.
He is survived by his wife, Vereen Lynn Kennelly; two daughters, Shawn Lea Pilj of Blanchard, Okla., and Kandi Lynn Jackson of Forest Falls, Calif.; four sons, Peter Blake Kennelly of Shawnee, Kan., Parley Dean Kennelly of Beaumont, Calif., Noah Joseph Kennelly of London, and Shane Michael Kennelly of Memphis, Tenn.; one sister, Mary Edith Kennelly of Norco, Calif.; and 27 grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 1, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with Bishop Bradley Scott officiating. Burial will be in Oakland cemetery under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Peter Blake Kennelly, Parley Dean Kennelly, Noah Joseph Kennelly, Shane Michael Kennelly, Gerald Pilj, and Cole Jackson.
Johnnie B. Havener
Johnnie Bradford Havener, 76, of Lamar died Friday, Sept. 24, 2010, at his home.
He was a 35-year employee of the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department, attended the Lamar Assembly of God Church, U.S. Army veteran, native of Lamar, son of the late Dewey and Rebecca Pearson Havener, and was preceded in death by one brother, Norman Havener.
Survivors include his wife, Emma Jean Cameron Havener; two daughters and sons-in-law, Elizabeth and Patrick Huffine of Clarksville and Cynthia and Danny Sheppard of Ozark; one son and daughter-in-law, Kirk and Nancy Havener of Kentucky; one sister, Reba Morland of Clarksville; one brother and sister-in-law, Don and Coleen Havener of Lamar; nine grandchildren, Michele Goodin, Keegan Hull, Victoria Gillett, David Havener, Abigail Havener, Jaylee Sinor, Shane Sinor, Jeremiah Havener and Sierra Sheppard; and three great-grandchildren, Jesy Kimbriel, Jayde Kimbriel, and Slade Goodin.
Funeral will be at a later date.
Crematory arrangements were under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Larry E. Evans Sr.
Larry Eugene Evans Sr., 60, of Lamar died Monday, Sept. 20, 2010, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
He was a native of Nashville, Tenn., son of the late Sarah Lee Evans, and retired.
Survivors include five daughters and three sons-in-law, Angie and Gary Yarbrough Jr., of Ozark, Sarah Albertson, Nora and Justin Odem, and Jenifer Tolbert, all of Van Buren, and Patti and Aubrey Mefford of Hartman; three sons, James Evans of Fort Smith, Larry Evans Jr. and wife, Amanda, of Van Buren, and Anthony Mulanax and wife, Cheryl, of Clarksville; one brother, Marven Richard Evans of Fort Smith; 24 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; companion, Cecelia Mulanax; and father.
Graveside services and burial were at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 25, at Carter cemetery with Rev. J.W. McEntyre officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were James Evans, Larry Evans Jr., Gary Yarbrough, Anthony Mulanax, Jessie Evans, and Paul Preston.
Manuel B. Leal
Manuel Borges Leal, 84, of Clarksville died Tuesday, Sept. 21, 2010, at Hospice Home Care in Little Rock.
He was a native of Tipton, Calif., son of the late John Borges and Maria Borges Leal, member of First United Methodist Church, Navy and Marine veteran of World War II and Korean War, and a supervisor with Arco Refinery Company for several years.
Survivors include his wife, Beverly Leal; four daughters, Linda Granata of San Diego, Calif., Marsha Turcotte of Chino, Calif., Sherry Honnen of Garden Grove, Calif., and Shelly Cannon of Webster, Texas; three sons, Larry Leal of Vista, Calif., Jeff Leal of Fullerton, Calif., and David Leal of Aurora, Colo.; two sisters, Rosie Jones and Mary Scozzari, both of Hemet, Calif.; 12 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 24, at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. David Hanshaw officiating. A private graveside service was held at 9 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 25, at Woodland cemetery. Hardwicke Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Naomi Kuykendall
Naomi Kuykendall, 75, of Ozark, sister of Ed Crouch of Hagarville, died Saturday, Sept. 18, 2010, at her home.
She was a native of Mineral Springs near Ozark, daughter of the late Stoney and Maggie Stephens Crouch, and member of the River Valley Community Church.
Survivors include her husband, Milburn V. Kuykendall; three sons, David Kuykendall and wife, Jane, of Rudy, Dan Kuykendall of Fort Smith and Ron Kuykendall and wife, Brenda, of Ozark; three sisters, Eulalia Auslam of Fayetteville, Juanita Armstrong of Ozark and Nina Wilson of Lavaca; four other brothers, Joe, Jack, John and Roger Crouch, all of Ozark; six grandchildren, Lance Kuykendall, Eric Kuykendall, Jennifer Peters, Avery Kuykendall, Shauna Kuykendall, and Anthony Kuykendall; and four great-grandchildren, Braeson Peters, Addison Peters, Emily Kuykendall and Bailey Kuykendall.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 20, at Shaffer Funeral Home Chapel in Ozark with Rev. Jan Akins officiating. Burial was in Mt. View cemetery at Ozark.
Pallbearers were sons, David, Dan and Ron Kuykendall, and grandsons, Lance, Eric and Anthony Kuykendall.
Raymond Smith
Harley Raymond Smith, 86, of Altus, father of Janice Archer of Clarksville, died Monday, Sept. 20, 2010, in Ozark.
He was a native of Grenades Chapel, son of the late Claude and Tollie Mae Hill Smith, retired employee of Cargill, and was preceded in death by his wife, Sybil Covert Smith; five brothers, Clyde, Owen, Luther, Charles and Argus Smith; and two sisters, Lorene Smith and Galela Edgin.
He is survived by one other daughter, Bonnie Pardue of Ozark; one son, Danny Smith of Altus; three sisters, Arlene Bartlett of Coal Hill, Lilly Mae Carter of Spiro, Okla., and Lola Fay Swafford of Dyer; three brothers, Thurman Smith of Claremore, Okla., Roy Smith of Ozark and Arlin Smith of Van Buren; six grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Crematory arrangements were under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home of Ozark.
Magdalene Kirkpatrick
Magdalene Overbey Kirkpatrick, 84, of Knoxville died Monday, Sept. 27, 2010, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
She was a native of Lamar, daughter of the late Vaden and Myrtle Hutchins Overbey, widow of Jesse Kirkpatrick, retired Johnson Regional Medical Center employee, member of Knoxville First Baptist Church, and was preceded in death by one sister, Betty Pitts; and one brother, John Overbey.
She is survived by two daughters, Jessica Key and Kathy Paxson and husband, Tarry, all of Knoxville; one brother, Charles Overbey of Brea, Calif.; four grandchildren, Leah Smith, Angelia Davis, Amy Lassiter and Kris Paxson; eight great-grandchildren, Andrew Gravit, Lauren Gravit Dickey, Samantha Lassiter, Clay Mayer, Jaimie Long, Ashlyn Paxson, Phillip Werner and John Paul Werner; two great-great-grandchildren, Brooklyn Dickey and Madison Werner; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 29, at Knoxville First Baptist Church with Rev. Richard Snyder officiating.
Burial will be in Lamar cemetery under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Allene McGuire
Allene McGuire, 78, of Paris died Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2010, at Ozark Nursing Home.
She was a native of Oark, daughter of the late Solomon and Dorcas Mays Davis, widow of Floyd McGuire, and member of the Assembly of God Church.
She is survived by one daughter, Sherry Crouch of Ozark; four sons, Danny McGuire, Robert McGuire and Darrell McGuire, all of Paris, and Gary McGuire of Altus; one sister, Maggie Martin of Huntsville; ten grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 6, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John Martin and Rev. George Willis officiating. Burial was in Patterson Springs cemetery at Oark.
Active pallbearers were Clay Allsopp, Kevin Crouch, Errick Ellington, Randy Furr, Phil Horne, and Jackie Moeller.
Honorary pallbearers were Johnny McGuire, Robert O'Conner, and Daniel McGuire.
