Ruby B. Walters
Ruby B. Walters, 82, of Clarksville died Tuesday, March 14, 2006, at Clarksville Convalescent Home.
A native of South Mound, Kan., she was a daughter of the late Harvey and Daisy Blackburn Shepard, member of the First United Methodist Church in Clarksville, member and past president of Johnson County Twirler Square Dance Club, and was preceded in death by two brothers, Wayne and Charles Shepard; two sisters, Virginia Walters and Erma Shepard; one grandchild; and one great-grandchild.
Survivors include her husband, Kenneth Walters; three daughters, Sharon Brantley of St. Mary's, Ga., Rae Ann Brooke of Little Rock, and Marilyn Chrisman of Hartman; one son, George Kilgore Jr. of Clarksville; two sisters, Bonnie Dack of Parsons, Kan., and Donna McElroy of Altamont, Kan.; two brothers, Lloyd Shepard of Parsons, Kan., and Billy Joe Shepard of Ft. Scott, Kan.; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Friday, March 17, at the First United Methodist Church in Clarksville with Rev. Steve Wingo officiating.
Burial was in Oakland cemetery under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Michael Weathers, Eric Kilgore, Chad Chrisman, Leon Baldwin, Darrell Shepard, Kevin Farmer, Heath Zimmerman, and Mike Kraft.

Wesley D. Balkcom
Wesley Daniel Balkcom, 26, of Clarksville died Wednesday, March 15, 2006, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident at Altus.
He was a native of Ocala, Fla., and was employed in the house roofing business.
He is survived by one daughter, Kallie Leann Balkcom of Clarksville; two sons, William Lee Balkcom and Wesley James Balkcom, both of Clarksville; father and stepmother, W. L. and Carolyn Balkcom of Clarksville; mother, Donna Heule of Tennessee; one sister, Lynnett Krachey and husband, Rodney, of Lamar; one nephew, Blake Smith of Lamar; one niece, Michaela Smith of Lamar; several aunts and uncles; and the mother of his children, Christi Cole of Clarksville.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Friday, March 17, at Hardwicke Funeral Chapel with Rev. Tony Reynolds officiating. Burial was in Oakland cemetery.
Pallbearers were Rodney Krachey, Joseph Balkcom, Josh Smith, David Walker Jr., William Cole, and Trevor Butler.
Arvella C. Mooney
Arvella Criss Mooney, 82, of Clarksville died Friday, March 3, 2006, at Countryside Manor Nursing Home.
She was a member of Shiloh United Baptist Church, widow of Elbert Mooney, daughter of the late Steve and Noma Sparks Criss, and was preceded in death by three brothers, Bill, Grover and Levi Criss; and two sisters, Sara Harderson and Minnie Haynes.
Survivors are one son, Houston Mooney of Oark; one brother, Aaron Criss of Huntsville; one sister, Rosie Cummins of Oark; and one grandchild.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 7, at Salus Holiness Church with Rev. Clayton Rylee officiating.
Burial was in Case cemetery near Fallsville under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Carolyn Mae King
Graveside services and burial for Carolyn Mae King, 62, of Wichita, Kan., who died Feb. 28, 2006, in Wichita, Kan., was at 2 p.m. Monday, March 6, at Oakland cemetery with Wylie Jones officiating. Local arrangements were under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
She was a respiratory therapist, daughter of the late Earnest and Ora Mae Broomfield Rogers, and was preceded in death by two sisters, Ruth Felkins and Lucille Tuberville.
Survivors include her husband, Max King; one daughter, Paula Dick and husband, Andrew, of Dardanelle; two sons, Roger King and wife, Karla, of Bellaire, Kan., and Max Stephen King and wife, Carmen, of Conway; two sisters, Earnestine Green of Phoenix, Ariz., and Florence Gummow of Wichita, Kan.; and four grandchildren, Katlyn and Julia Dick and Dalton and Emma King.
Frances Lannie
Frances Lannie, 88, of Morrilton, sister of Eva Terry of Hagarville, died Wednesday, March 1, 2006.
She was a native of Salus, daughter of the late Nathan and Amanda Callahan Griffith, widow of Frank Lannie, Avon representative, and member of Morrilton Baptist Temple and Lewisburg Extension Club. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Norman, Oscar and Mervin Griffith; and three sisters, Ollie Phillips, Elzada Acord, and Olzetta Steward.
She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Friday, March 3, at Harris Funeral Home Chapel in Morrilton with burial at Elmwood cemetery.
Henry Hearnsberger Jr.
Dr. Henry Graves Hearnsberger Jr., 87, of Little Rock, whose daughter and son-in-law, Carol A. and Cole Martin reside in Clarksville, died Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2006, at his home.
He was a native of Chambersville, son of the late Henry Graves and Ruth Thomason Hearnsberger, Navy veteran where he was a 1st lieutenant, served as a medical officer and graduated from the School of Naval Justice, retired general practice and psychiatry physician, graduate of Fordyce High School, University of Arkansas and University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in 1944, served as member and officer of Stephens School Board, Stephens Security Bank, Berry Asphalt Company, Southern Pulpwood Company, Arkansas Blue Cross Blue Shield and Pleasant Valley Country Club, member of the American Medical Society, Southern Medical Association, Arkansas Medical Society, Pulaski County Medical Society, American Psychiatric Society, American Society of Clinical Hypnosis and Kappa Sigma fraternity, served as a deacon and Sunday school teacher at Stephens Baptist Church and Pulaski Heights Baptist Church and was a member of St. James United Methodist Church.
Other survivors include his wife of 57 years, Charlyne Webb Hearnsberger; three sons and daughters-in-law, John C. and Marcia Hearnsberger of Hot Springs, James H. and Angie Hearnsberger and Dr. H. Graves III and Cheryl Hearnsberger, all of Little Rock; eight grandchildren, Dr. Mike Hillis and wife, Jennifer, Ben Hearnsberger, Haley Hearnsberger, Chris Hearnsberger, Hanna Hearnsberger, Will Hearnsberger, Allie Hearnsberger and Erin Hearnsberger; two great-grandsons, Avery and Thomas Hillis; one sister and brother-in-law, Maxine and George Clippert of Camden; niece, Nancy Broach and husband, Dick of Hope; and nephew, David Clippert of Atlanta, Ga.
A memorial service was held Friday, March 3, at St. James United Methodist Church with Dr. Jack Wilson and Rev. Fred Haustein officiating.

Huell Hurst
Huell (Tiny) Hurst, 83, of Lakeville, Minn., died Thursday, March 2, 2006, at his home.
A native of Coal Hill, he was a son of the late Hugh and Georgia Colvett Hurst, Navy veteran of World War II, retired machinist from Burrough Manufacturing Company in Detroit, Mich., member of George R. Reeves Masonic Lodge No. 396 in Pottsboro, Texas, and was preceded in death by his wife, Julia Lindsay Hurst; and one son, Johnny Hurst.
Survivors include two daughters, Linda Hurst Davis of Denison, Texas, and Judy Conrad of Lakeville, Minn.; one son, David H. Hurst of Rochester Hills, Mich.; four sisters, Jean Morrow and Joan Sosebee, both of Coal Hill, Anna Lee Self of Carrollton, Ga., and Betty May of Sevierville, Tenn.; two brothers, Joe B. Hurst of Coal Hill and Bobby Charles Hurst of Turlock, Calif.; seven grandchildren, David, Jennifer, Kristena, Gena, Tamera, Mark and Dennis; and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 7, at Hardwicke Funeral Chapel with Rev. Paul Burns officiating. Burial with masonic graveside services by Coal Hill Lodge No. 383 was at Hess cemetery.
Active pallbearers were David M. Hurst, Christopher Lee Wood, Don Robert Hurst, Toby Wilson, Donald Ray and David Hawkins.
Honorary pallbearers were Dennis Davis, Mark Davis, and Gary Wood.
Lucy Marie Pyron
Lucy Marie Pyron, 88, of Clarksville died Wednesday, March 1, 2006, at Clarksville Convalescent Home.
She was a retired secretary and bookkeeper, member of the First Presbyterian Church of Clarksville, daughter of the late Robert L. and Lillie Baskin Basham, widow of Ottis Pyron; and was preceded in death by one brother and sister-in-law, William Robert and Ruby Basham.
She is survived by four nieces, Jane Haynes and husband, Tom, of Olive Branch, Miss., Roberta Golden and husband, Rick, of Clarksville, Terry Doyle and husband, John, of Springdale, and Teresa Short and husband, Jamie, of Rosebud; two nephews, Bob Basham and wife, Lisa, and David Pyron and wife, LouAnn, all of Clarksville; and one brother-in-law, Ewell Pyron of Texas.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 4, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Amos Pledger officiating. Burial was in Oakland cemetery.
Pallbearers were Matt Golden, Dylan Golden, Joe Basham, Eric Basham, and Sean Basham.
