Donald Earl Grigsby

Donald Earl Grigsby, 69, of Hartman died Thursday, Feb. 9, 2006, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
He was a farmer, son of the late James D. and Audie M. Benge Grigsby, and was preceded in death by six brothers, Michael, J. D., Dean, Charlie, James, and I. J. Grigsby and one sister, Emma Jane Bethel.
Survivors are his wife, Welline Grigsby; two sons, Bobby Earl Grigsby and wife, Debra, of Hartman and Ricky Stevens Grigsby and wife, Rita, of Hunt; three brothers, Rusty Grigsby of Hunt, Bronk Grigsby of Gerald, Mo., and Buddy Grigsby of Danville; six sisters, Exine Phillips of Magazine, Maxine Dorrough and Barbara Stegemann, both of Dardanelle, Sharlie Osborn of Plainview, Texas, Mary Grigsby of Ola, and Carolyn Johnson of Kaukauna, Wis.; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Harris officiating. Burial was in Liberty Hill cemetery.
Active pallbearers were David Davidson, John Hodge, Jimmy Arbaugh, Gary Grigsby, Frank Grigsby, and Jody Dalton.
Honorary pallbearers were Tom McCormick, Kenneth Wheeless, James Shepard, Al Wiederkehr, Dennis Wiederkehr, grandson and nephews.

Effie A. Boen

Effie Armentha Boen, 86, of Clarksville died Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2006, at her home.
She was a retired cook, daughter of the late Suel M. and Sarah J. James Stepp, widow of W. T. Boen, Pentecostal, and was preceded in death by one brother, Efton Stepp, and two sisters, Anna Hammons and Gladys Case.
Survivors include two daughters, Fay Knuckles and husband, Joe, of Lamar and Kay Davis and husband, James, of Fallsville; one son, Odell Boen of Clarksville; one brother, Reuben Stepp of Clarksville; one sister, Elva M. Boen of Tulsa, Okla.; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a great-aunt, Iva Moore of Lamar.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 11, at the Salus Free Holiness Church with Rev. Clayton Rylee and Rev. Robert Boen officiating.
Burial was in the Rosetta cemetery under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Active pallbearers were Glenn Stepp, Keith Stepp, Dolen Stepp, Ronnie Stepp, Ed Kimbriel and Cordell Harderson.
Honorary pallbearers were Hearl Boen, Christopher Boen, Brent Cook, Lane Davis, Dawson Boen, and Delorn Stepp.

Evelyn T. Knight

Evelyn Tyson Knight, 92, of Russellville died Saturday, Jan. 28, 2006.
She was a native of Buena Vista, daughter of the late William J. and Emma Walker Tyson, graduate of Camden High School, retired employee of the city of North Little Rock and Century Marketing Company of Batesville, volunteer at Batesville Help and Hope, member of the Church of Christ, and was preceded in death by two brothers, James and Hershel Tyson and four sisters, Lillian Smith, Christine Greening, Norma Ainsworth and Pauline Ainsworth.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, James and Sue Knight of Dover; two grandsons, Nathan Knight and wife, Kim, of Clarksville and Rex Knight and wife, Amberly, of Russellville; five great-grandchildren, Bethany, Brooke Ann and Noah Knight of Russellville and Moriah and Zachariah Knight of Clarksville; and one sister, Willie Margaret Mobley of Texarkana.
A memorial service was held Friday, Feb. 3, at Bethesda Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Camden. The cremains were buried at Bethesda cemetery.

Irma Lee Thomas

Irma Lee Thomas, 73, of Hartman died Thursday, Feb. 9, 2006, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
She was a native of Van Buren, daughter of the late Lee and Velma Bennett Patterson, retired Tyson Foods Inc. employee, and member of the Coal Hill Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include her husband, Jackie Thomas; one daughter, Donna Dobbs of New Blaine; one son, Jim Thomas of Manassas, Va.; two sisters, Maxine Mott of Van Buren and Eula Rasler of Wichita, Kan.; two brothers, Bobby Patterson and Ray Patterson, both of Wichita, Kan.; and two grandchildren.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 13, at Hardwicke Funeral Chapel with Rev. John Kindrix officiating. Burial was in West Mount Zion cemetery.
Pallbearers were Kyle Thomas, Ashton LaRue, Gary LaRue, Tom Fowler, Charles Beavers, and Bill East.

John (Bud) Ross

John Henry (Bud) Ross, 92, of Clarksville died Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2006, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
A native of the Spadra Community, he was a son of the late Thoder (Tobe) and Flora Parker Ross, member of Franklin Masonic Lodge No. 9, retired owner and operator of Bud Ross Construction Company, and was preceded in death by three brothers, Cecil, Harold and Bennie Ross; and two sisters, Della Mae Bennett and Marie Handley.
He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside services by Franklin Masonic Lodge No. 9 were at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 11, at the West Mount Zion cemetery with Rev. Jack Smith officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to the Prostate Cancer Foundation, 1910 North Grant Street, Suite 1-A, Little Rock, AR 72207 or Gideon Memorial Program.

Thomas W. Brooks

Thomas William (Bill) Brooks, 82, of Corpus Christi, Texas, formerly of Johnson County, died Dec. 29, 2005, at his home.
A native of Lafferty, he was a son of the late Earl and Lavana Brooks, son-in-law of the late Everett and Ova Gash of Clarksville, and a sheet metal mechanic at CCAD Army Base.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years Bonnie Gash Brooks; one son, Tommy Brooks of Corpus Christi, Texas; two daughters, Linda Davenport and husband, Dennis, and Vicki Verdugo, all of Corpus Christi, Texas; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Christine Ammons of Lilburn, Ga., and Lois Nelhouse and Bonnie Ann Chillcott, both of Fort Smith.
Funeral was at 1 p.m. Jan. 2 at Cage-Mills Funeral Directors with interment at Duncan cemetery.

Willie R. Kirk

Willie Raymond Kirk, 71, of Clarksville died Saturday, Feb. 11, 2006, at his home.
He was an Army veteran, retired mechanic, member of Westside Full Gospel Church, son of the late Lucy Edna (Madden) and David Morgan Kirk Sr., and was preceded in death by one son, Raymond Lee Kirk; two sisters, Irene Jennings and Corine Vaughn; and four brothers, David Morgan Kirk Jr., Daymond Kirk, Frankie Kirk, and Donald Kirk.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Rose Woods Kirk; four daughters, Jean Wood and husband, Dale, and Lawanda Combs and husband, Sam, all of Clarksville, Debbie Leaman and husband, Steve, of East Jordan, Mich., and Linda Reynolds and husband, Mickey, of Clair, Mich.; two sons, David Kirk and wife, Jan, of White Pine, Mich., and Martin Kirk and wife, Kay, of East Jordan, Mich.; two sisters, Pauline Rex of Gainesville, Texas, and Lawanda Hume of Marietta, Okla.; two sisters-in-law, Opal Kirk of Sherman, Texas, and Edith Kirk of Newalla, Okla.; 18 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 14, at the Westside Full Gospel Church with Rev. J. W. McEntyre officiating.
Burial was in Union Grove cemetery under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Active pallbearers were C. D. Cain, Gary Rex, Randy Kirk, Johnny Kirk, Ricky Kirk and Randy Kirk.
Honorary pallbearers were Keith Cain, Ralph Cain, Ricky Kirk, Mike Kirk, Royce Humes, Donnie Humes, Larry Kirk, Jimmy Kirk, Sam Cain, and Mike Kirk.
