Lavern Wages
Lavern Wages, 48, of Clarksville died Friday, Feb. 3, 2006, in St. Vincent Medical Center. She was born Sept. 2, 1957, at Van Buren, daughter of the late Earl Claire and Jetta Jean Drewry Buck. She attended Union Grove Baptist Church and was an active officer of the 239th Family Support Group.
She is survived by her husband, Tim; a daughter, Rachael Wages of England; two sons, Danny and Jason Daniels, both of Fayetteville; two sisters, Lavonne (twin) Veal of Clarksville and Janice Perez of Russellville; a brother, Lanny Bicio of Ozone; and a granddaughter, Kinsee Daniels of Fayetteville.
Funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 7, at Union Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Burnett King and Rev. Bob Freeman officiating. Burial services followed at the Union Grove cemetery under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home. Visitation was from 6-8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 6, at Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Active pallbearers were Jim Pat Mills, Wes Kendrick, Buddy Beavers, Mike Allen, Kenneth Kennedy, and Andy May.
Honorary pallbearers were John Clark Sr., Steve Clark, Paul Harmon, and Ronald Jackson.
Omar O. White
Omar O. White, 88, of Russellville, formerly of Clarksville, died Monday, Feb. 6, 2006.
He was a native of Neodesha, Kan., graduate of Weleetka (Oklahoma) High School, former employee in the Seminole oil fields, served in the U. S. Army in the Pacific campaign with the 32nd Division 127th Infantry, was the recipient of two Purple Hearts, Bronze Star and the Combat Infantryman's Badge, was a former owner-operator of a cold storage facility in Clarksville and was preceded in death by his first wife, Elizabeth (Betty) Fulbright White.
Survivors include his wife, Lillian Balkman White; one stepson, Bob Balkman; two nephews, Gary and Brian Stewart; five great-nieces; and two great-nephews.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 10, at the Clarksville Church of Christ.
Burial will be in Oakland cemetery under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 9, at Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Patti Hurst
Patti Hurst, 44, of Pensacola, Fla., died Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2006.
She was a daughter-in-law of the late Raymond and Elizabeth Hurst of Clarksville.
Survivors include her husband, Mike Hurst; one daughter, Tabitha of Kentucky; one son, Adam of the home; sister-in-law, Lisa Dewinter of Fort Smith; uncle, Howard Hurst of San Antonio, Texas; and two aunts, Dorothy Hallmark of Fort Smith and Janice Peters of Clarksville.
Funeral and burial were Friday, Feb. 3, in Pensacola, Fla.
Vernon Timmons
Vernon Timmons, 70, of Alma, brother of Elizabeth Estep of Coal Hill, died Thursday, Jan. 26, 2006.
He was a son of the late Blake and Josie Timmons, served in the military 36 years including the Air Force during the Vietman War, was a retired aircraft mechanic crew chief for the 188th Air National Guard, member of the Alma VFW, and was preceded in death by two sisters, Catherine Estep and Lorene Riggs.
Survivors are his wife, Sylvia Timmons; one daughter, Roberta Parks of Van Buren; two sons, Steven of Van Buren and Basil Timmons of Dallas, Texas; one other sister, Irene Marshall of Camarillo, Calif.; two brothers, Herman of Broken Arrow, Okla., and Harvey of Oxnard, Calif.; and three grandchildren.
Rosary was at 6 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 29, at Edwards Van-Alma Chapel. Funeral mass was Monday, Jan. 30, at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Van Buren. Burial with full military honors was in the U. S. National cemetery at Fort Smith.
William Mitchell Jr.
William (Jack) Mitchell Jr., 32, of Clarksville died Friday, Feb. 3, 2006, at St. Edward Mercy Medical Center in Fort Smith.
He was a Baptist, graduate of Franklin High School in Meadville, Miss., employee of Sara Lee Hosiery, and son of the late William Mitchell Sr.
Survivors include his wife, Tonya Willis Mitchell; one daughter, Kya Mitchell of Clarksville; mother and stepfather, Emma and Carl Ray Reed of McCall Creek, Miss.; one sister, Sharon Mitchell of McCall Creek, Miss.; three brothers, Vincent Harris and wife, Vanessa, of Washington, D. C., Charles Mitchell and wife, Sheila, of McComb, Miss., and Billy Ray Nelson of Birmingham, Ala.; one niece, Charlie Mitchell of McComb, Miss.; one sister-in-law, Latasha Traylor of Clarksville; mother-in-law, Denise Wilson of Russellville; and two brothers-in-law, Steven Willis and Tyrone Willis, both of Clarksville.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 9, at the Church of Christ with Rev. Gary Hinkle officiating.
Burial will be in Oakland cemetery under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.

Alvin C. Keith
Alvin Cecil Keith, 87, of Hartman died Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2006, at Ozark Nursing Home.
He was a son of the late Ed and Sara Freeman Keith, retired timber employee, member of the Johnson County Fox Hunters Club where he was voted the oldest member for three-plus years, was of the Assembly of God faith, and preceded in death by his wife, Hettie Keith; one grandson, Chris Keith; and three brothers.
Survivors are two sons, Edward Keith of Clarksville and Allen Keith and wife, Tressa, of Hartman; one sister, Lillian Sparks of Clarksville; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 28, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Amos Pledger officiating. Burial was in Holman cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Don Freeman, Hank Sparks, Jeff Keith, Jason Keith, Kyle Keith, and Mike Keith.
Honorary pallbearers were Stanley Alcorn, David Alcorn, Mike Freeman, Jerry Sparks, Steve Alcorn, and Freddy Keith.
Cheryl A. Holland
Cheryl A. Holland, 56, of Clarksville died Friday, Jan. 27, 2006, at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock.
She was a member of the Mt. Vernon Community Church, daughter of the late Alford Edward and Melvina Persinger Ailstock, and was preceded in death by two brothers, John Ailstock and Teddie Ailstock.
Survivors include her husband, Clinton Holland; one daughter, Lenora Holland of Clarksville; three sons, Benjiman Holland and Michael Holland, both of Clarksville, and Jimmy Holland of Maumelle; one brother, David Ailstock of Jacksonville, Fla.; and six grandchildren.
Funeral was at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 31, at Roller-Cox Chapel with Rev. Gary Mitchell officiating. Burial was in Mt. Vernon cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Jason Porter, Joseph Reynolds, Cody Graham, Michael Deen, Josh Conley and Terry Dewinter.
Honorary pallbearers were D. J. Hunt and Gage Anderson.
Conley C. Ritchie
Conley Charles Ritchie, 96, of Clarksville died Saturday, Jan. 28, 2006, at Countryside Manor Nursing Home.
He was a retired farmer, member of the Church of Christ, son of the late Hiram and Minnie Acord Ritchie, and preceded in death by his wife, Jewel Rothmeyer Ritchie; one infant son; one brother, Carl Ritchie; and one sister, Vestal Downs.
Survivors are two daughters, Freda Immel of Clarksville and Kathy Davis of Lake Jackson, Texas; three sons, Charles T. Ritchie and Douglas Ritchie, both of Clarksville, and Harold G. Ritchie of San Antonio, Texas; three sisters, Lavada Hilton of Ellington, Mo., Vinnie Daniel of Ora, Mo., and Georgia Mills of Sikeston, Mo.; ten grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 31, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel with Paul Farrar officiating. Burial was in Hogan cemetery at Hunt.
Active pallbearers were David Ritchie, Kevin Ritchie, Connie Saum, Michael Ritchie, Jason Warren, and Craig Immel.
Honorary pallbearers were Jimmy Pannell, John Williams, and Gerald Vanlandingham.
