Rev. Faxon Schreckhise
Rev. Faxon Franklin Schreckhise, 84, of Clarksville died Monday, Jan. 23, 2006, at Mercy Hospital/Turner Memorial in Ozark.
He was a minister of the Pentecostal faith for 60 years, member of the United Pentecostal Church of Clarksville, son of the late Jesse Roy and Mary Elizabeth Ellis Schreckhise, and was preceded in death by one son, Faxon C. Schreckhise; two brothers, James and Leonard Schreckhise; and one sister, Roberta Gurtner.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Schreckhise; two daughters, Sharon Ann James and husband, Paul Ray, of Clarksville and Elizabeth Churchman and husband, John, of Rogers; four sons, Rev. Roy Robert Schreckhise and wife, Lodi Lillian, of Lamar, Rev. Danny David Schreckhise and wife, Judy, of Hondurus, South America, Rev. James Jacob Schreckhise and wife, Phyllis, of Haynes, Alaska, and Nathan Neal Schreckhise and wife, Linda, of Alma; two brothers, Robert Schreckhise of Arizona and Jack Schreckhise of Van Buren; four sisters, Sadie Benjamin of Abilene, Texas, Elizabeth Conatser of Kansas City, Mo., Lula Bell of Alma and Mikey Reese of Salus; 19 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and numerous great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 27, at the United Pentecostal Church with Rev. Vernon Long and Rev. B. J. Thomas officiating.
Burial will be in Oakland cemetery under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Brent Schreckhise, Jeremy Schreckhise, Robi Schreckhise, Brandon Farris, Blake Schreckhise, and Cammi Schreckhise.
Visitation will be held from 6-7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 26, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Ollie Passmore
Ollie M. Passmore, 101, of Charleston died Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2006, at Charleston.
A native of Coal Hill, she was a daughter of the late Bill and Mary Hobbs Choate, widow of Chester Passmore, member of Riverdale Free Will Baptist Church, and was preceded in death by one daughter, Kathrine Taylor, and one son, Gearld Passmore.
Survivors include two daughters, Virginia Brewer and Jonell Rainwater, both of Charleston; one son, Bobby, of Lavaca; 12 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and 18 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 13, at Riverdale Free Will Baptist Church. Burial was at Island cemetery under the direction of Smith Mortuary of Charleston.
Active pallbearers were Roger and Jerry Rainwater, Mike and Gary Passmore, Bill Thompson and Tim Taylor.
Honorary pallbearers were members of the staff of Greenhurst Nursing Home.

Benjamin A. Simpson
Benjamin A. Simpson, 88, of Frazeysburg, Ohio, formerly of Johnson County, died Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2006, at the Adams Lane Care Center.
He was a son of the late Charles E. and Lettie M. Ireland Simpson, native of Ozark, former resident of Dresden, Ohio, self-employed timberman and logger, and was preceded in death by two sons, Boyd and Charles Simpson; two brothers, Frank and Lloyd Simpson; and one sister, Edith Simpson.
Survivors are his wife, Clara Thomas Simpson; four daughters, Faye Meredith of Hensley, Janice (Romaine) Hutchinson and Nora Burge, both of Coshocton, Ohio, and Joyce (Jess) James of Hartsville, Tenn.; seven stepdaughters, Sharon Thornton of Frazeysburg, Ohio, Phyllis (Kenneth) Redman of Perryton, Ohio, Patsy Grimes of Newark, Ohio, Rebecca (Michael) Foster of Adams Mills, Ohio, Paula (Douglas) Bates of Zanesville, Ohio, Sherry Landaker of Conesville, Ohio, and Peggy Moran of Dresden, Ohio; one stepson, William Moran of Coshocton, Ohio; 20 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 21 step-grandchildren; 22 step-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral was at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 6, at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home with Rev. Roger Nichols officiating. Burial was in Frazeysburg cemetery.
Clare E. Wolf
Clare Edward Wolf, 91, died Friday, Jan. 6, 2006, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
He was a native of Wesley, Iowa, son of the late Edward and Charlotte Wolf, retired farmer, U. S. Army veteran of World War II having served in North Africa and Italy, served on the board of the North Logan County Farm Bureau and the Scranton School Board, was road foreman and civil defense director for Logan County, was instrumental in the formation, construction and operation of the Logan Township Gas Users' Association and the East Logan County Water project, a Catholic and was honored to light the Sesquicentennial Flame for the 150th anniversary of the Catholic Church in Arkansas in 1994, and was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Lee Lauritzen of Audubon, Iowa.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years Helen J. Wolf; ten children, Karen Dobbs and husband, Dr. John C., of Conway, Edward J. Wolf and wife, Vicki, of Lake Charles, La., Charlotte Kuester and husband, Paul, of Orlando, Fla., Rebecca Terwelp and husband, Ralph, of Columbia, Mo., Michael Wolf and wife, Linda Chastain, of Lee's Summit, Mo., Christina Gray and husband, David, of Springdale, Greg Wolf and wife, Katy, of Hope, Fidelis Wolf of Prairie View, Daniel Wolf and wife, Debbie, of Baton Rouge, La., and Alice Kennedy and husband, Pat, of Overland Park, Kan.; 24 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and five sisters, Maxine McQueeny of Omaha, Neb., Catherine Bingham of Seattle, Wash., Shirley Bristow of Backus, Minn., Nedra Light of Denver, Colo., and Patricia Brenden of Northfield, Minn.
Rosary service was held at 6 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 8, at St. Mienrad Catholic Church in Prairie View. Funeral mass was at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 9, with Pastor Rev. Dennis Soerries officiating. Burial was in St. Mienrad Catholic cemetery under the direction of Griffin Leggett Funeral Home of Conway.

Doyle P. Stockton
Doyle Patrick Stockton, 36, of Lamar died Sunday, Jan. 16, 2006, in Keokuk, Iowa.
He was a millwright employee.
Survivors include his wife, Pauline Ashalintubbi Stockton; two daughters, Lacky Stockton Wright of Benton, Mo., and Jamie Dodge Massey of Lamar; one son, Corey Feikema of Clarksville; parents, John Dick and Doreen Hull Stockton of Lamar; one brother and sister-in-law, Donald Joseph and Dana Stockton of Waldron; and two grandchildren, Marland Massey and Lucas Wright.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 20, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. DeWayne Holland officiating. Burial will be in West Mt. Zion cemetery near Hartman.

Elmo J. Cox
Elmo J. Cox, 77, of Scranton died Monday, Jan. 16, 2006, in Clarksville.
He was a retired dairy and beef farmer, Gideon, member of First Baptist Church of Scranton and was preceded in death by his parents, Spencer Joseph and Ida Mae Gilland Cox, and wife, Lois Louise Ellis Cox.
Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Spencer and Cathy Sue Cox and Michael and Pam Cox, all of Scranton, and Eugene and Paula Cox of Charleston; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Patsy and Billy Harrison of Grayson, La., Paula Liles of Scranton, and Cathy Lynn and Elbert Pfeiffer of Paris; two sisters, Myrtle Sandifer of Tulsa, Okla., and Georgia Rutherford of Oklahoma; one brother, Russell Cox of California; 13 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 19, at Scranton First Baptist Church with burial in Stoney Point cemetery at Scranton. Arrangements are under the direction of Roller Funeral Home of Paris.
Active pallbearers will be Greg Oldham, Calvin Edwards, Billy Burkett, Chris Lipham, Marcus Holley, and Shane Pfeiffer.

Rev. Jack A. Porter
Rev. Jack Arch Porter, 85, of Charleston, whose son and daughter-in-law, Danny and Marla Porter, reside in Clarksville, died Sunday, Jan. 8, 2006, at Northwest Medical Center of Washington County in Springdale.
A native of Excelsior, he was a son of the late Carl and Zelpha Carlisle Porter, Army veteran, played professional baseball and professional football for the Cardinals and Giants, and served as a pastor for 55 years in a number of Southern Baptist churches in Arkansas.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years Marjorie Frances Scovel Porter; one other son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Sabra Porter of Searcy; one daughter and son-in-law, Debi and Ron Batchelor of Siloam Springs; ten grandchildren, Dan Porter Jr., Luke Porter, Josh Porter, Jessica Porter, Bryan Batchelor, Brandon Batchelor, Ben Batchelor, Brad Batchelor, Hannah Porter and Drew Porter; eight great-grandchildren; and one sister, Dorothy Wilkerson of Lexington, Ky.
A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 10, at Harvard Avenue Baptist Church Chapel in Siloam Springs with Rev. Ron Batchelor officiating. Private burial was at Oak Hill cemetery in Siloam Springs under the direction of Wasson Funeral Home of Siloam Springs.
