Elmer Conley
Elmer (Maggie) Conley, 86, of Booker, Texas, whose son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Laura Conley, reside in Clarksville, died Friday, Dec. 30, 2005, at Ochiltree General Hospital in Perryton, Texas.
He was a native of Blue Mound, Okla., son of the late Warren and Louie Blum Conley, served in the United States Army Medical Corps and was the recipient of the Bronze Star for action on the island of Saipan during World War II, member of the United Church of God, and was owner and operator of a cement construction company from 1956 until his retirement in 2000. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elsie Littau Conley; one sister, Fay Holt; and one brother, W. D. Conley.
Other survivors include four daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia and Rodney Forrest of Big Sandy, Texas, Donna and Alec Surratt of Cincinnati, Ohio, Barbara and Guy Burke of Wichita Falls, Texas, and Ruth and James Roberts of Booker, Texas; 16 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Graveside services and burial were at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 3, at Heart cemetery with Guy Burke officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Good Samaritan Funeral Service of Booker, Texas.

James R. Nelson
James Raymond Nelson, 69, of Knoxville died Jan. 2, 2006, at his home.
He was a heat and air contractor, son of the late Raymond H. and Lola Vinson Nelson, and veteran of the U. S. Navy.
Survivors include his wife, Edna Lawson Nelson; one daughter, Ranay Brown Storms of Knoxville; five stepchildren, Clarine Kamphaus of Clinton, Okla., Gayle Webb of Burns Flat, Okla., Benny L. Rich of Sacramento, Calif., Dale R. Rich of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Mike Rich of Horse Shoe Bay, Texas; 13 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
The body was cremated. Local arrangements were under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
James W. Woodward
James W. Woodward, 81, of Wichita, Kan., died Monday, Dec. 26, 2005.
He was a native of Lamar and a retired sheet metal fabricator.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years Kathryn Griffin Woodward; three sons, James Woodward Jr. of Wellington, Kan., Robert Woodward of Wichita, Kan., and Greg Woodward of El Dorado, Kan.; three daughters, Connie Stowe of Wichita, Kan., Joyce Foster of Mulvane, Kan., and Kathy Schrader of El Dorado, Kan.; 14 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 30, at Smith Mortuary in Haysville, Kan.
Memorials may be made to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice.
L. B. Smith
L. B. Smith, 78, of Ozark died Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2005, in Ozark.
He was a native of Ozark, retired city of Ozark Water Department employee, member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, son of the late Andrew Jackson and Polly Ann Estep Smith, and was preceded in death by his wife, Clara Smith; and one daughter, Monica Kaye Smith.
He is survived by one daughter, Frances Lane Smith of Ozark; one son, Gary William Smith of Ozark; and two grandchildren.
Rosary was at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 21, at Shaffer Funeral Home in Ozark. Funeral was at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 22, at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Father Hilary Filiatreau officiating followed by burial in Highland cemetery at Ozark.
Active pallbearers were Merl Del Soto, Chris Hunt, Michael Thomas, David Del Soto, Tommy Owens Jr., and Art Timmerman.
Honorary pallbearers were the coffee shop crew.
Robert E. Peak
Robert E. Peak, 50, of London died Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2005, at his home.
He was a native of South Bend, Ind., owner and operator of the Peak Express Truck Lube in Russellville, and was preceded in death by one son, Darren Peak.
Survivors include his wife, Joan Vail Peak; one daughter, Kim Marie Humphrey of Mishawaka, Ind.; one son, Christopher Stockbridge of Mishawaka, Ind.; one stepson, Charles McClure and wife, Michelle, of Pottsville; father, Richardo Peak of Elkhart, Ind.; mother and companion, Sherry Peak and Tom Knox of Vandalia, Mich.; and three grandchildren, Carlee McClure of Pottsville and Austin and Kayrna Humphrey of Mishawaka, Ind.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 31, at Cornwell Funeral Home Chapel in Dardanelle with Rev. Danny Fudge officiating. Burial was in Brearley cemetery at Dardanelle.
Active pallbearers were John Blackard, Tom Ed Bullock, David Hudson, Mike Neal, Andy Thomas, and Bud Burnett.
Honorary pallbearers were employees of Peak Express Truck Lube.
Janet Loe Meyer
Janet Loe Meyer, 73, of Clarksville died Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2006, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
She was a restaurant owner, receptionist at Roller-Cox Funeral Home, member of the Assembly of God Church, and daughter of the late Jessie and Fannie May Tompson Jones.
She is survived by one daughter, Janet Miciotto and husband, Anthony, of Shreveport, La.; two sons, Brian Smith and wife, Sheila, of Knoxville and Carl Dodd of Lamar; two sisters, Joy Conners of Bellsville, Md., and Gene Dillow of Manasas, Va.; 19 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 23, at Roller-Cox Funeral Chapel with Rev. Amos Pledger officiating. Burial was in Carter cemetery.
Laura M. Anglin
Laura Melinda Anglin, 88, of Clarksville died Monday, Dec. 25, 2006.
She was a daughter of the late George W. and Judie Thompson Poyner, widow of Ruben Anglin, and member of the Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Ruby Marshall and husband, Tim, of Fairfield Bay and Loretta Duncan of Fort Smith; one brother, Carl Poyner of Hartman; two stepdaughters, Laura Bagsby and Linda McMahan, both of Clarksville; ten grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 27, at Roller-Cox Funeral Chapel with Rev. Amos Pledger officiating. Burial will be in Kendall cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Tim Marshall Jr., Marty Steele, Monty Steele, Brian Steele, Melvin Steele, and Albert Bagsby.
Ollie Mae Leeds
Ollie Mae Leeds, 72, of Ozark died Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2006, at Mercy Hospital/Turner Memorial in Ozark.
A native of Clarksville, she was a daughter of the late Johnny William and Goulie Belle Burns Jones, and was preceded in death by one son, George Dorsett.
Survivors include four daughters, Carolyn Crosby and Nalma Taylor, both of Ozark, and Susan Dorsett and Lynne Crouch and husband, Stonie, all of Coal Hill; six sons, Billy Flint and wife, Sherri, of Cecil, James Flint, Charlie Dunlap and wife, Tammie, Leslie Dunlap, and Mike Leeds and wife, Melissa, all of Clarksville, and Wade Dunlap and wife, Deanna, of Lamar; one brother, Johnny Jones Jr. of Clarksville; 27 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 23, at Hedgeway Church with Rev. Don Alexander officiating.
Burial was in Union Grove cemetery under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Billy Flint, James Flint, Charlie Dunlap, Leslie Dunlap, Wade Dunlap, Michael Leeds, and Archie Dorsett.
Patricia Michner
Patricia Michner, 65, of Coa Hill died Saturday, Dec. 23, 2006, at Lamar.
She was a native of Coal Hill, daughter of the late Grundy Hill and Allene Frederick Lingle, 1962 University of the Ozarks graduate, retired school teacher, and member of the Coal Hill Church of Christ.
Survivors include one son, Charles David Cate Jr. of El Paso, Texas; and two daughters, Sue Douglas of Coal Hill and Vicki Hurst of Springdale.
Graveside services and burial were at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 26, at Srygley cemetery in Coal Hill with John Ballard officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home of Ozark.
