Truman W. Jones
Truman Walter Jones, 75, of Altus, father of Kevin Jones of Ozone, died Friday, Jan. 29, 2010, at his home.
He was born in Paris to Walter and Doris Burnett Jones and was a carpenter.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy Shaffer Jones; one daughter, Lesa Howell of Ozark; one other son, Don Shaffer of Altus; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Crematory arrangements were under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home of Ozark.
William J. Stubblefield
William Jennings Stubblefield, 92, of Clarksville died Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2010, at Ashton Place in Barling.
He was a native of Gallatin, Tenn., preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Dorothy Dodson, and was employed for 35 years by the Bechtel Corporation in San Francisco, Calif., as construction manager throughout the United States and Canada.
He is survived by one daughter, Amy Poinsette of Florence, S.C.
There was no funeral service.
The body was cremated under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Mary Josephine Plugge
Mary Josephine (Jo) Scott Plugge, 85, died Monday, Feb. 08, 2010. She was born on July 29, 1924, to George Scott and Jessie Ball Scott in Tulsa, Okla., where she spent her early childhood. As a young girl she moved with her family to Hartman, AR, where she met her future husband and companion of more than 50 years, Wilfred R. (Fred) Plugge. They were inseparable as they traveled and explored the world together. Returning to Tulsa after retirement, they were members of St. Bernard's Catholic Church and Jo later attended St. Benedict Church in Broken Arrow. Jo will be remembered for her spirit, her contagious smile and her courage as she battled many health issues these past years. She was an inspiration to her family and friends. We will miss her.
Rosary service will be at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 11, at Hardwicke Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Mass will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 12, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church with Father William Wewers and Abbott Jerome Kodell officiating. Burial will be at Sacred Heart Catholic cemetery near Hartman.
Active pallbearers will be David Freeland, Robert Hilton, Roman Plugge, Larry Plugge, Charles Plugge, and Kevin Wiederkehr.
Honorary pallbearers will be Scott Collier, David Weichert, Bill Kinkead, Randy Hilton, Gary Wiederkehr, Russell Plugge, Wayne Plugge, and John Plugge.
M. Elizabeth Ashworth
Mrs. Ashworth, 90, of Charlotte, NC, passed away on February 5, 2010 at White Oak Manor. She was born on December 7, 1919 in Clarksville, Johnson County, AR, a daughter of the late John Oscar and Clyde Mason Blackard. She married
her husband John Alfred Ashworth, Jr. in 1942, and was a homemaker her entire life.
Mrs. Ashworth was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. She was passionate about her country, doll collecting, sewing, genealogy and bird watching. She and her husband loved traveling the country in their Airstream pulled by Big Blue. Mrs. Ashworth was a long time member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), The National Society of US Daughters of 1812, the Doll Club of Oklahoma City and a charter Member of Chapel Hill United Methodist Church of Oklahoma City.
Mrs. Ashworth spent the last 6 years enjoying life and her friends at Sharon Village Retirement Apartments.
She is survived by her son, John Alfred Ashworth, III and wife Anne Wilson Ashworth of Charlotte, NC; three grandchildren, Dana Ashworth Long and husband Matthew Wendell Long of Charlotte, NC, Marcia Ashworth Scott and her husband Mark Curtis Scott of Jamestown, NC and John Alfred Ashworth, IV and his wife Shana Stewman Ashworth of Charlotte, NC; four great-grandchildren, Matthew James and Jonathon Thomas Long of Charlotte, NC, Mark Winfield Scott of Jamestown, NC, and McKinley Anne Ashworth of Charlotte, NC; brother Fred Blackard and wife Dorothy Blackard of Concord, CA, sister Emma Mae Darrow of Quinlan, TX.; numerous nieces and nephews; best friend, Judy Gaynor of Charlotte, NC.
Her husband John, of 42 years, her parents, sister Raynette Johnson, and brothers William and Robert Blackard preceded Mrs. Ashworth in death.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, February 11, 2010 at Harry & Bryant Company, “Chapel in the Oaks”, 500 Providence Rd., Charlotte. The family will receive friends from 10-10:45 prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow at 2 p.m. at Salisbury National cemetery, Salisbury, NC.

Bettye Lynn Heflin, 62, of Pottsville, sister of Larry Sanders of Clarksville, died Sunday, May 16, 2010, at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville.
She was born in San Antonio, Texas, to Allen and Opal Dean York Sanders, 1965 graduate of Purcell High School in Purcell, Okla., real estate agent with Coldwell Banker in Russellville, served on the Pottsville Planning and Zoning Commission, member of the Pottsville United Methodist Church, and was preceded in death by one daughter, Alicia Jeanne Freeman; and one sister, Darla Gayle Walls.
Survivors include her husband, John Heflin; one son, James Bryan Freeman of Russellville; three stepchildren, Cheryl Caines of Pottsville, Jackie Heflin of Dover, and Rhonda Lynn Haney of London; five grandchildren, Fred and John Viney' Rendon, Brett Heflin, Chanda Mills of Atkins and Jamies Caines of Oxnard; two great-grandchildren, Jayden and Adronna Heflin of California; and four other brothers, Garry Sanders of Ozark, Keith Sanders of Houston, Texas, Bruce Bernard of Orlando, Fla., and Tom Sanders of Racine, Wis.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Friday, May 21, at the Pottsville United Methodist Church with Rev. Millie Bryant officiating. Burial was in Pisgah cemetery at Pottsville under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service of Russellville.
Connie Sue Smith
Connie Sue Kimbrel Smith, 55, of Knoxville died Sunday, May 23, 2010, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
She was a daughter of the late James Charlie and Mary Ann Smith Kimbrel and was preceded in death by one daughter, Elizabeth Ann Smith.
Survivors include two daughters, Loretta Wey and husband, Robbie, and Saundra Gregory and husband, Terry, all of Clarksville; two sons, Joshua Smith of Clarksville and James Robert Smith of Knoxville; one sister, Norma Williams of Clarksville; two sisters-in-law, Diane Kimbrel of Rogers and Jennifer Kimbrel of Clarksville; two brothers, James Leonard Kimbrel of Clarksville and Charles Vester Kimbrel of Rogers; and 11 grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 27, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. George Willis officiating. Burial will be in Mossville cemetery in Newton County.

Dale Everett Williams Jr., 39, of Wagoner, Okla., died Wednesday, May 19, 2010, at Muskogee Regional Medical Center.
He was a native of Muskogee, Okla., attended Hilldale High School, welder and heavy equipment operator, former resident of Knoxville where he served as a volunteer fireman for nine years, and was preceded in death by one son, Toby Williams; stepfather, Ricky Watson; grandparents; and step-grandparents.
Survivors include his wife Norma Kimbrel Williams; two sons, Michael Williams and Cody Graham of Wagoner, Okla.; one daughter, Krystal Demmitt of Alaska; mother, Helen Ann Asher Watson of Wagoner, Okla.; father, Dale E. Williams Sr. of Woodward, Okla.; two grandchildren, Riley and Noah Demmitt of Alaska; one sister, Penny Harmon of Baton Rouge, La.; two nieces, Mistie and Alsatia Harmon; one nephew, Malachi Harmon; step-grandfather, Tarzon Keeton of Wagoner, Okla.; and one cousin, Kim Fulton.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 22, at Mallett Funeral Home Chapel in Wagoner, Okla., with Rev. Bill Welch officiating. Burial was at Pioneer cemetery in Wagoner, Okla.

David M. Burry Sr.
David Malcolm Burry Sr., 66, of Hartman died Sunday, May 16, 2010, at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock.
He was a native of Sault Sainte Marie, Mich., son of the late Elizabeth Frances and Frederick Wilson Burry, retired after having been employed as automotive director for Pep Boys Company, Inc., for 18 years, diesel mechanic instructor at Orange County, Calif., and Wal-Mart Distribution Center in Clarksville as loss prevention, and was honorably discharged from the U. S. Army HQ troop 1st Recon Squad 15th Calvary 2nd Armored Division in Fort Hood, Texas.
Survivors include his wife, Milagros Villamante Burry; one daughter, Marnie Marinussen and husband, Stan, of the Netherlands; three sons, David Burry Jr. of northern California, Peter Burry and wife, Chris, of Lodi, Calif. and Eugene Burry of Orange County, Calif.; two stepdaughters, M.Sgt. Maria Patricia Montgomery and husband, Capt. Justin Montgomery, of Vallejo, Calif. and Maybelle Morgan and husband, Kevin, of Coal Hill; one stepson, Michael John Tongko of Daegu, South Korea; three brothers, Frederick Burry Jr. and wife, Pat, and children of southern California, Mark Burry and wife, Pat, and children of San Diego, Calif., and Brian Burry and wife, Joyce, and children of Clovis, Calif.; 14 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Friday, May 21, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Butch Booth and Pastor Primo Novero officiating. Burial with military honors followed at 1 p.m. at the National cemetery in Fort Smith.
Pallbearers were Justin Montgomery, Michael Tongko, Brian Burry, James Tucker, Kevin Morgan, and Nab Oubay.
