Beulah Bell Roberts

Beulah Bell Roberts, 91, of Coal Hill died Saturday, March 26, 2005, at Clarksville Convalescent Home.
She was a daughter of the late Brit Hatcher and Ollie Hickey, widow of Milo Roberts, Pentecostal, and was preceded in death by three sons, Bill, Al Ray (Honky), and Donald Gene Roberts.
Survivors include one daughter-in-law, Glenda Roberts of Dallas, Texas; one half-sister, Doris Flaherty of Ozark; three cousins, Novella Odgen and Kathryn Breedlove, both of Coal Hill, and Larry Roberts of Hartman; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 30, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Amos Pledger officiating. Burial will be in Hartman cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Larry Roberts, Kermit Warren, Fred Breedlove, Clinton Roberts, Tom Davenport, and Steve Roberts.

Ellen M. McCarley

Ellen M. McCarley, 91, of Lamar died Sunday, March 27, 2005, at St. Vincent Doctor's Hospice Center in Little Rock.
She was a native of Lamar, daughter of the late Rush and Annie Killough Crowden, widow of Thomas (Buck) McCarley, member of Lamar Baptist Church, and was preceded in death by four sons, Tommy McCarley, Kenneth McCarley, Troy McCarley, and Jim McCarley; two grandsons; one great-grandson; and one brother, Herbert Russell Crowden.
She is survived by one son, Roy McCarley of Sherwood; one sister, Emogene Crotts of Wichita, Kan.; three brothers, Richard (Buster) Crowden of Lamar, Norman Crowden of Clarksville, and Eugene Crowden of La Russell, Mo.; 12 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 29, at Hardwicke Funeral Chapel with Rev. Jack Ramsey officiating. Burial was in Lamar cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Richard Crowden, Kevin McCarley, Brian McCarley, John Belcher, Mike Sanders, and Greg King.
Honorary pallbearers were Jeff Hart, Dale Rowbotham, Rick Harmon, and Jackie Lawrence.

James E. Stokes

James Edward Stokes, 83, of Clarksville died Thursday, March 24, 2005, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
He was a native of Bronx, N. Y., retired mechanical engineer, a P-45 pilot in the Army Air Corps during World War II and later an instructor with the Air Force Reserve, and was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years Priscilla Stokes.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Armil Curran of Clarksville; one son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. James (Angela) Stokes III of Boiling Springs, Pa.; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
The body was cremated.
Arrangements were under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.

Vaughn V. Robbins

Vaughn V. Robbins, 83, of Hagarville died Tuesday, March 29, 2005, at his home.
He was of the Assembly of God faith, farmer, son of the late Hiram and Jettie Thomason Robbins, and was preceded in death by one brother, Harold O. Robbins.
Survivors include his wife, Imogene Robbins; one daughter and son-in-law, Ann and Jerrel Warren of Lamar; two sons and daughters-in-law, Harold and Pat Robbins of Van Buren and Gary and Anna Robbins of Hagarville; one sister, Coy Gau of Denver, Colo.; one brother, Clinton Robbins of Lamar; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 31, at the Lee's Chapel Assembly of God Church with Rev. Bob Freeman officiating.
Burial will be in the Annie's Chapel cemetery under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Leroy Slavik, Tommy Rowbotham, Jerrel Warren, Don Ray Freeman, Vaughnon Freeman, and Dale Rowbotham.
Visitation will be from 6-7 p.m. Wednesday, March 30, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home.

Brenda Faye Howell

Brenda Faye Howell, 47, of Fort Smith, formerly of Clarksville, died Friday, April 1, 2005, at her home.
She was a daughter of the late William H. and Betty Jean Brown Carter and of the Assembly of God faith.
She is survived by one son, Brian Allen Carter of Robertsville, Mo.; two sisters, Jeanie Pitcher of Fort Smith and Mary Hendrickson of Robertsville, Mo.; and two brothers, William C. Carter of Tulsa, Okla., and Roger P. Carter of Bossier City, La.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 5, at Roller-Cox Chapel with Rev. Amos Pledger officiating. Burial was in Lamar cemetery.
Pallbearers were Wyatt Williams, Larry Hendrickson, Keith Carter, William Carter, Roger Carter, and Chris Morse.

Billy J. Henderson

Billy Joe Ballard Henderson, 43, of Clarksville died Thursday, March 31, 2005, in Clarksville.
He was a cosmetologist and son of the late Joseph Howard and Flossie Marie Robinson Henderson.
Survivors include six sisters and five brothers-in-law, June and Charlie Brown of Jacksonville, Tammy and Gene Ray of Gallatin, Tenn., Leann and Phil Stephenson of Del City, Okla., Joann Wheeler of Clarksville, Bonita and Ricky Vaughn of Oark, and Bonnie and Nick Greco of Cincinnati, Ohio; aunt, Lucy Vanover of Clarksville; numerous nieces and nephews; and companion, David Simmons of Clarksville.
A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 5, at the Oark Baptist Church with Rev. George Farquhar officiating.
Burial was in Oark cemetery under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to the National Aids Foundation.

Glen Allen Oakes

Glen Allen Oakes, 74, of Lamar died Sunday, April 3, 2005, at his home.
He was a son of the late John Henry and Vilena May Gates Oakes, retired from the U. S. Navy, licensed maintenance employee, minister and member of the Church of God Holiness.
Survivors include his wife, Fern Jensen Oakes; one daughter, Carolyn Ewing of Lamar; two sons, John Oakes of Garfield and Ron Oakes of Cullman, Ala.; two sisters, Lavina Daniel and Wilma Jean Brown, both of Ottawa, Kan.; two brothers, Joe Oakes and Roger Oakes, both of Ottawa, Kan.; and two grandchildren, Sinnaman Oakes and Jennifer Ewing.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 6, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Tucker and Rev. Robert Williams officiating. Graveside services and burial will follow at 2 p.m. at the National cemetery in Fort Smith.
