Ira Dale Mitchell

Ira Dale Mitchell, 88, of Ozark died Wednesday, March 30, 2005, at Mercy Hospital/Turner Memorial in Ozark.
He was employed in construction by the Corps of Engineers for 38 years, member of the First Christian Church in Ozark, son of the late Ira D. and Luella Woods Mitchell, and was a member of the cattlemen's association and the fair board in addition to being instrumental in the construction of the fair building.
Survivors include his wife, Marcella Foster Mitchell; three daughters, Carylon Dover of Dover, Mary Lou Douglas of Mountain Home, and Paulette Gage of Duncanville; two stepsons, Marshall Gaines of Ozark and Ray Gaines of Lavaca; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral was at 11 a.m. Friday, April 1, at Shaffer Funeral Home Chapel in Ozark with Rev. Ron Newberry officiating. Graveside services and burial were at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 2, at Baxter Memorial Gardens in Mountain Home with Rev. Gene McCoy officiating.
Active pallbearers were Wayne Bradley, Chuck Gage, Terry Dover, Timmy Dover, Toby Dover, and Allen Bradley.
Honorary pallbearers were T. J. Dover, Bryan Douglas, Leon Gage, Norman Powell, and Byron Lasiter.
Memorials may be made to North Franklin County Fair Building Fund, P. O. Box 643, Ozark, AR 72949, or to the Methodist Church TV Program, 503 W. Commercial, Ozark, AR 72949.

Jim J. Clair

Jim O' Lee Jennings Clair, 80, of Altus died Friday, April 1, 2005, at Countryside Manor Nursing Home.
She was born in Slick, Okla., daughter of Lloyd Harold and Vera English Jennings, Baptist, retired Singer Company employee, and was preceded in death by two daughters, Sarah Jane Hobby and Mary Kathleen Jennings.
Survivors include three daughters, Rebecca Noffsinger, Mary Brown and Judy Qualls, all of Clarksville; three sons, Kenneth Shrum of Dyer, James Shrum of Waldron, and William Robert Clair of Clarksville; two sisters, Lamoine Gragg of Altus and Joanna Bartlett of Ozark; two brothers, Harold Jennings and Cecil Jennings, both of Altus; 12 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
Graveside services and burial were at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 5, at the Nichols Chapel cemetery at Altus with Rev. Bobby Jack Covert officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.

Jack Fowler

Jack Fowler, 83, of Hartman died Saturday, April 2, 2005, at the Ozark Nursing Home.
A native of Johnson County, he was a son of the late Joe Ab and Polly Evelyn Winters Fowler, graduate of Hartman High School, Marine veteran of World War II, retired coal miner, and member of Springhill Masonic Lodge No. 118 at Hartman and the Union Grove Baptist Church.
Survivors are his wife, Betty Bivins Fowler; one daughter, Jackie Ann Whitson of South Carolina; two sons, Mike Fowler and Joe Fowler, both of Hartman; one sister, Lorene Brooks of Hartman; one brother, Bob Fowler of Hartman; five grandchildren, Jeremy Fowler of Russellville, Donna Rivera of Clarksville, Jaye Henderson of Tampa, Fla., Megan Babson of Hartman, and Heather Fowler of Ozark; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Monday, April 4, at Hardwicke Funeral Chapel with Rev. Steve Sawrie officiating. Burial was in West Mount Zion cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Michael Joe Fowler, Tom Fowler, Mike Wilson, Ben Alfred Hardgrave, Jack Elrod, and Ben Jarred Hardgrave.
Honorary pallbearers were John Clark, Burley King, Willie Kirk, and Johnson County coal miners.

Richard Vosburg

Richard N. (Lobster) Vosburg, 41, of Scranton died Thursday, March 24, 2005, at his home.
A native of Hornell, N. Y., he was employed in maintenance at Arkansas River Valley By-Products and as a broiler operator.
Survivors include his parents, William and Viola Vosburg of Coal Hill and Roxanne Waight of Almond, N. Y.; and two brothers, Harold Vosburg of Hornell, N. Y., and Mark Vosburg of Dracut, Mass.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 29, at Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home Chapel in Paris with Rev. J. H. Carter officiating.

Carl Sears

Carl Sears, 52, of Alma, son of J. W. Sears of Clarksville, died Friday, April 1, 2005, at his home.
He was a native of Clarksville, son of the late Lillian Marie Ellison Sears, and a mail room employee for Cosco Industries in Van Buren.
Other survivors include one daughter, Cynthia Sears of the home; one son, Dustin Sears of Arkoma; six sisters, Shelby Anglin of Booneville, Joyce Lovell and Freda Zorn, both of Hartford, Tammy Teague of Batesville, Regina Marrs of Lexington, N. C., and Sonya Yates of Clarksville; and four brothers, Doug and Donnie Willis, both of Clarksville, Johnny Sears of Altus and Eddie Sears of Lamar.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 5, at the Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. James Lee Willis officiating. Burial was at Gill cemetery in Van Buren.
Active pallbearers were Jim Anglin, Charles Sears Jr., Gail, Daniel and Larry Ellison and Wayne King.
Honorary pallbearers were Jimmy Don English, Charles Willis and Alvin Anglin.

Eileen L. Bauer

Eileen Louise Harrison Bauer, 80, of Seabrook, Texas, formerly of Morrison Bluff, died Tuesday, April 5, 2005, in League City, Texas.
She was a retired bookkeeper, daughter of the late Bob and Sarah Richerson Harrison, and widow of Roman Bauer.
She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Ron Ahlhorn of Seabrook, Texas; one son and daughter-in-law, Rick and Tanya Bauer of Ward; seven grandchildren, Ryan Bauer, Hollie Plummer, Jessica Depetris, Paige Bauer, Evan Qualls, Erin Qualls, and Nicole Qualls White and husband, Jason; and two great-grandchildren, Kelsey Plummer and Alyssa White.
A memorial mass will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, April 15, at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church at Morrison Bluff with Father William Wewers officiating.
Burial will be in Saints Peter and Paul cemetery in Morrison Bluff under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to the Harris County Public Library, c/o Greg Burns, Evelyn Meador Library, 2400 North Meyer Road, Seabrook, TX 77586.

Dr. George Taylor III

Dr. George Wesley Taylor III, 55, of Clarksville died Friday, April 8, 2005, at his home.
He was born March 14, 1950, at Clarksville, graduate of Clarksville High School, Arkansas Tech University, and University of Arkansas School of Medicine, and was retired from Clarksville Medical Group. He was preceded in death by his father, George Wesley Taylor Jr.
Survivors are his wife, Rosanna King Taylor; two sons, James Jonathan Taylor and Christopher Patrick Taylor of Clarksville; one daughter, Caroline Jeanne Taylor of Clarksville; mother, Dorothy Taylor of Clarksville; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Tom and Linda Taylor of Fairbanks, Alaska, Bill and Kathie Taylor of Gentry, Dick and Beverly Taylor of Berryville, and Paul and Savannah Taylor of Clarksville; and mother-in-law, Jean King of Clarksville.
He was a master gardener and loved nature, hunting, fishing and picking his mandolin with the Piney Creek Ramblers on the porch at Ozone.
Graveside memorial services were held at 3 p.m. Monday, April 11, at the Mount Vernon cemetery with Rev. Steve Wingo and Denton Tumbleson officiating.
Visitation was from 1-2:30 p.m. Monday at the home.
Memorials may be given to National Marfan Foundation, 22 Manhasset Ave., Port Washington, N. Y. 11050 or Johnson County Heart Association, c/o Becky McGuire, 101 Railroad Street, Clarksville, AR 72830.
Arrangements were under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
