Herbert Jennings Sr.

Herbert L. Jennings Sr., 86, of Clarksville died Saturday, April 16, 2005, in a Conway nursing home.
A native of Clarksville, he was a member of the Church of Christ, Army veteran of World War II where he received the American Defense Service ribbon and two bronze stars, and was preceded in death by his wife, Polly Jennings.
Survivors include two daughters, Willie Davis and Anna Hodges, both of Greenbrier; two sons, Herbert Jennings Jr. of Scranton and Dr. James Jennings of Bangladesh; three sisters, Marie Selby and Joyce Cox, both of Clarksville, and Virginia Redman of Dallas, Texas; 15 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday, April 20, at the Mt. Vernon Church of Christ with burial at Mount Airy cemetery north of Clarksville under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel of Fort Smith.
Pallbearers will be Craig and Greg Patterson, Dustin and Cody Smith, and Tyler and Kory Loop.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association Western Arkansas Chapter, 322 North Greenwood, Fort Smith, AR 72901.

Ina O. Carrell

Ina Oletha Matthews Carrell, 73, of Fort Madison, Iowa, whose daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia E. (Cyndie) and Garry Campbell reside in Lamar, died Saturday, April 16, 2005.
She was born at Alicia, a daughter of Arthur M. and Esther L. (Huskey) Matthews, widow of James Edward Carrell, office manager for the Lee County Engineer and Secondary Road Department prior to retiring after 40 years of service, member of the First United Methodist Church and the Iowa County Engineers Office Organization, life member and secretary-treasurer of the North Lee County Historical Society, life member of Soroptimist International of Fort Madison and a life member of the FMHS Chapter of Business Professionals of America. Her past affiliations include Campfire Girls Council, Policemen's Wives Auxiliary and the Fort Madison Student Center Association.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Jimmye Andrews; one brother, Bernard Matthews; and three grandsons, Robin Beimer, Michael Andrews and Bobby Andrews.
Survivors include another daughter, Sara (Jan) Garza and husband, Vincent, of Fort Madison, Iowa; another son-in-law, Loren (Andy) Andrews of Fort Madison, Iowa; one brother, A. Dean Matthews of Hot Springs; nine grandchildren, Rusty Andrews, Tina Smith, Sierra Garza, Christopher Garza, Crystal Campbell, Brandy Hisken, Jaime Blamey, Dr. Laurie Wondra, and Kassy Mancill; ten great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 20, at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Brenda Goodall officiating. Burial will be at Oakland cemetery in Fort Madison, Iowa, under the direction of Barr Memorial Chapel.
Memorials may be made to the North Lee County Historical Society or the First United Methodist Church. Contributions may be made at the Barr Memorial Chapel.

James R. Pannell

James Robert Pannell, 63, of Greenwood, formerly of Hartman, died Sunday, April 17, 2005, at Sparks Regional Medical Center in Fort Smith.
He was a son of the late Clifford and Pauline Pannell of Hartman, Army veteran, production employee, and was preceded in death by one brother, Melvin Pannell.
Survivors include his wife, Faye Pannell; two daughters and sons-in-law, Tammy and Carter Fujibayashi and Jamie and Scott Reeves, all of Greenwood; one son, Mark Pannell of Greenwood; one sister and brother-in-law, Deliliah and Tommy Don Johnson of Clarksville; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Don and Emilie Pannell and Roger and Sandra Pannell, all of Clarksville; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services and burial will be at 2 p.m. Friday, April 22, at the National cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood.

Linda L. Mueller

Linda Louise Mueller, 61, of London died Tuesday, April 12, 2005, at her home.
She was a daughter of the late Thorton Bert and Reta Mae Williams Stettler, member of the Flat Rock Assembly of God Church, and was preceded in death by one son-in-law, Johnny Justice; and one brother, Bill Stettler.
Survivors include her husband, Harley F. Mueller; two daughters, Shamra Justice of the Flat Rock Community and Eulanda Hiland and husband, Mark Brown, of London; one son, Harlie F. Mueller and wife, Melodie, of Lamar; one brother, Freddie Stettler and wife, Dorene, of Isleton, Calif.; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Friday, April 15, at the Flat Rock Assembly of God Church with Rev. Ronnie Birge officiating.
Burial was in the Knoxville cemetery under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Active pallbearers were Monte Estes, Doug Hatchett, Don Gibbson, Mark Brown, Johnny Mueller, Eddie Bartlett and Mike Duncan.
Honorary pallbearers were Gary Hiland, Harlie Mueller, Jonathan Justice, Wendell Griggs, Lloyd Estes, Gary Willcutt, and Rickey Groen.

Marjorie L. Guiling

Marjorie Lois Kerr Guiling, 73, of Clarksville died Thursday, April 14, 2005, at her home.
She was a daughter of the late Earl Irven and Pauline Ester Shue Kerr, member of the Clarksville Christian Church, employee of Cox Berry Farm for 15-plus years, and was involved with Boy and Girl Scouts and Boys and Girls Club.
Survivors include her husband, Floyd Guiling; two daughters, Marlena Fitts of Clarksville and Christina Baker of Fort Smith; one son, David Guiling of Garland, Texas; two sisters, Paula Stout of Owasso, Okla., and Sue Hale of Oklahoma City, Okla.; one brother, Don Kerr of Owasso, Okla.; and five grandchildren.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Monday, April 18, at Roller-Cox Chapel with Matt Thomason officiating. Burial was in Stillwell cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Johnny Fitts, John Fitts, Lance Fitts, Jim Hale, Don Kerr, and Kelly Gates.
Honorary pallbearers were Rick Holt and Mark Kerr.

Pauline Hodges

Pauline Hodges, 84, died Monday, April 11, 2005, at the Carnegie Nursing Home in Carnegie, Okla.
She was a native of the Bethlehem Community in Johnson County, daughter of the late Harlan and Ola Parker Blackard, widow of L. H. (Dick) Hodges, graduate of Hartman High School, member of the Oney Baptist Church where she served as treasurer for 19 years, was a counselor at the Farmers Union Youth Camp for several years and a cook at Falls Creek for many years.
Survivors include one son, Ronnie Hodges and wife, Terri, of Ft. Cobb, Okla.; one granddaughter, Whitney Kay Hodges of Ft. Cobb, Okla.; one brother-in-law, Raymond Hodges and wife, Rubye, of Wellington, Texas; twin brother, Paul Blackard and wife, Lillian, of Clarksville; one aunt, Rena Hardgrave of Clarksville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 14, at Oney Baptist Church with Rev. Donald Wright and Rev. Kurt Bloomstadt officiating.
Burial was in Ft. Cobb cemetery in Ft. Cobb, Okla., under the direction of Turner Funeral Home of Binger, Okla.

Sylvia M. Coogan

Sylvia M. Coogan, 90, of Lamar died Thursday, April 14, 2005, at Countryside Manor Nursing Home.
She was a daughter of the late James A. and Cordeila Rowton Howard, widow of Willie C. Coogan, and of the Assembly of God faith.
She was preceded in death by one son, Odell Coogan; two sisters, Goldie Davis and Vida Lott; and one brother, William Howard.
Survivors include one daughter, Rosey B. Lewis of Clarksville; two sons, James E. Coogan of Mena and John A. Coogan of Clarksville; one sister, Opal Davis of Whiteberg, Texas; one sister-in-law, Pearl Coogan of Mena; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 1 p.m. Sunday, April 17, at Beasley-Wood Chapel in Mena with Tim Rose officiating. Burial was in Hilton cemetery at Board Camp.
Pallbearers were Dennis Dibeck, Gary Davis, Kenneth Cossey, Harold Coogan, Samuel Bass, and Johnny Bass.
Local arrangements were under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
