Orville E. Sears
Orville E. Sears, 91, of Clarksville died Sunday, May 29, 2005, at Clarksville Convalescent Home.
He was a son of the late Franklin O. and Louisa Bean Sears, retired factory and civil service employee, Baptist, served in World War II, lifetime member of the Mother Lodge Mineral Society of California, recipient of numerous awards including two national awards for Best of Cabochons in 1966 and 1984, and was preceded in death by his wife, Florence M. Sears; two sisters; and six brothers.
Survivors include numerous nieces and nephews including Debbie Sears and Claudia Wagner, both of Clarksville; and Kerry Sears, Wendell Sears and Nelson Sears, all of Clarksville.
Graveside services and burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 1, at East Mount Zion cemetery with Rev. Robbie Jackson officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Kerry Sears, Wendell Sears, Nelson Sears, Steve Sears, Jim Cole, and John Sears.
Roberto M. Cruz
Roberto Medina Cruz, 30, of Clarksville died Sunday, May 22, 2005, at his home.
He was a native of Rio Grande, Mexico.
He is survived by two daughters, Benesa Medina and Fatima Medina, both of Clarksville; one son, Aram Medina of Clarksville; father, Inosenfe Medina Longoria of Clarksville; mother, Ernestina Ramines Cruz of Clarksville; two sisters, Hortencia Medina and Maria Medina, both of Clarksville; three brothers, Cruz Medina, Leoncia Medina and Arturo Medina, all of Clarksville; and companion, Emeralda Medrano of Clarksville.
Rosary was at 6 p.m. Wednesday, May 25, at Hardwicke Funeral Chapel. Funeral was at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 26, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church followed by burial at Holy Redeemer Catholic cemetery.
Friends served as pallbearers.
Theron R. Farrer Sr.
Theron Roy Farrer Sr., 80, of Scranton died Saturday, May 28, 2005, at Sparks Regional Medical Center in Fort Smith.
A native of Rosie, he was a son of the late Walter F. and Doris Mae Magness Farrer, Navy veteran of World War II, Army veteran of the Korean War, retired welder, and was preceded in death by one son, Hoy Farrer.
Survivors include his wife, Mildred Mabry Farrer; two daughters, Annette Allen of Fayetteville and Cindy Pate of Hot Springs; one son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Theron R. (Sherri) Farrer Jr. of Scranton; one sister, Geraldine Farrer of Pine Bluff; four brothers, J. W. Farrer of Rison, Vane Farrer of Scranton, Charles Farrer of Pine Bluff, and Robert Farrer of Vicksburg, Miss.; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 1, at Hardwicke Funeral Chapel with Rev. Charles Saulsberry II officiating. Burial will be in Ware Chapel cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Vince Delgado, Cody Alexander, Todd Alexander, Michael Blevins, Michael Castens, and Brian Pate.
Dorothy Harris
Dorothy Mae (Nippy) Harris, 62, of Oark died Friday, June 3, 2005, at her home.
She was a daughter of the late James William and Myrtle Katherine Rhoades Cummins, widow of Henry Harris, farming laborer, Baptist, and was preceded in death by two sons, Leslie James Cummins and Alvin Lynn Harris; one sister; and two brothers.
She is survived by one daughter, Rebecca Kate Oddson and husband, Clayton, of Alma; two sons, John William Harris and wife, Kristine, of Mulberry and Harvey Ervin Harris and wife, Monica, of Van Buren; three stepdaughters, Stephanie Harris of Oark, Susan Franklin of Dill City, Okla., and Sharon Marion of Yukon, Okla.; one stepson, Tony Ripley of McAlester, Okla.; one sister, Linda Ashley and husband, Jesse, of Mountainburg; one brother, Lonnie Lee Cummins and wife, Pamela, of Oark; one half-brother, Wyvone Ritchie of Redding, Calif.; 31 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Graveside services and burial were at 2 p.m. Monday, June 6, at Peterson's cemetery in Alma. Arrangements were under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Frona M. Ledbetter
Frona Marie Ledbetter, 52, formerly of the Spadra Community, died Thursday, May 19, 2005, in Las Vegas, Nev.
She was born in Georgia to Donald and Della Marie Hall Ledbetter.
Survivors include two children, Donald Jason Ledbetter and Athena Snyder, both of Las Vegas, Nev.; two sisters, Donna Folk of Las Vegas, Nev., and Ronda McKitteick of Illinois; seven granddaughters and one grandson.
Her body was donated to the International Institute for the Advancement of Medicine. Her ashes will be buried at the Spadra cemetery at a later date.

Landon G. Pierce
Landon Gaige Pierce, infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Kevan Pierce of Leesville, La., died Sunday, May 15, 2005, at Beauregard Memorial Hospital in DeRidder, La. Mrs. Pierce is the former Mikah Pitts of Clarksville.
He was preceded in death by great-grandparents, Willie and Beulah Patton of Clarksville.
Other than his parents, he is survived by one brother, Austin Blake Pierce of Richland, Mo.; grandparents, Willene Patton and Richard Capovilla of Leesville, La., and Bob Pierce of Franklin, Texas; and numerous great-aunts, great-uncles and cousins from the Clarksville area.
Graveside services and burial were at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 17, at Old Leesville cemetery in Leesville, La., with Rev. E. J. Dantin officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville, La.
Myrtle E. Ruppert
Myrtle E. Ruppert, 92, of Clarksville died Monday, May 30, 2005, in Paris Hospital.
She was a native of Austin, Texas, a daughter of the late John N. and Theresa Stasney Sefcik, widow of E. L. (Red) Ruppert, graduate of Clarksville High School, attended the University of the Ozarks, and member of Second Baptist Church, Clarksville Chapter No. 172 Order of the Eastern Star and the Senior Citizens Club.
She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Theresa and J. C. Douglas of Clarksville; one son, Rick Ward of Clarksville; five grandchildren, Denise Rogodzinski of Poteau, Okla., Debbie Franklin, Mark Douglas, and Christina Cowell, all of Clarksville, and Kent Douglas of Maumelle; and 11 great-grandchildren, Khamree and Kyerra Cowell, Jessica Gill, Marci Wyche, Stacia Shivley, Kate Douglas, Lindsay Douglas, Connar Douglas, Luke Douglas, Dylan Douglas, and Holly Breedlove.
Graveside services and burial were at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 2, at Oakland cemetery with Rev. Richard Rogers officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.

Regina G. Baker
Regina Gail Baker, 49, of Clarksville died Tuesday, June 7, 2005, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
She was a daughter of the late Garland and Eunice Gipson Curtis, Baptist, and was preceded in death by one sister, Vicki Merridith.
Survivors include her husband, Wesley E. Baker; one son, Kevin Baker of Clarksville; two brothers and sister-in-law, Don and Marilyn Curtis and Gary and Sue Curtis, all of Clarksville; and one brother-in-law, James Merridith of Clarksville.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 9, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Vernon Bass officiating. Private burial will be at Kendall cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Gary Lee Curtis, Thomas Dickerson, Chris Curtis, Nathan Gaskey, Joe Curtis, Ben Hester, and Randy Holt.
