Patty B. Sheppard
Patty Boen Sheppard, 55, of Fayetteville died Friday, June 24, 2005, in Fayetteville.
She was a native of Deer, a Pentecostal, and was preceded in death by her mother, Lucille Peoples.
Survivors include her husband, Ronnie Sheppard; one daughter, Melissa Cady of Siloam Springs; one son, Ronnie Joe Sheppard of Booneville; father and stepmother, James and Shirley Boen of Clarksville; three sisters, Janet McGinnis of Alma and Yvonne Williams and Karen Cagle, both of Ozark; one brother, LeRoy Boen of Paris; and four grandchildren.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Monday, June 27, at Shaffer Funeral Home Chapel in Ozark with Rev. Timothy Gray officiating. Burial was in Belt cemetery at Ozark.
Pallbearers were Lanny and Heath McGinnis, LeRoy Boen, David Williams, Greg Cady, and Michael Sirratt.
William Hickman Jr.
William Lee (Bill) Hickman Jr., 14, of London died Monday, July 4, 2005, at the home of his parents, Cindy and Rev. William Lee Hickman Sr.
He was a native of Russellville, member of the seventh grade class of Russellville Middle School, where he played trumpet in the band and was a participant in the 2004 Christmas concert of the band, was a licensed minister and an active member of the Lighthouse Christian Center in Clarksville where he played the bass guitar.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by one brother, Stephen Hickman of London; one sister, Rebekah Hickman of London; paternal grandparents, John D. Hickman Sr. of Russellville and Wilma Walker of Russellville; maternal grandparents, Reba Holt of Russellville and Roger Upton of the Piney Community; two great-grandmothers, Hazel Stutts and Ruby Upton, both of Russellville; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 7, at the First Assembly of God Church in Russellville with Rev. Glen McGuire and Rev. Jerry Schlinker officiating.
Burial will be in Pisgah cemetery at Pottsville under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville.
Uncles and cousins will serve as active pallbearers while the Russellville Middle School seventh grade class, the Gales, will be honorary pallbearers.
Visitation will be from 6-7 p.m. Wednesday, July 6, at Shinn Funeral Service in Russellville.
Frances Stewart
Frances Stewart, 76, of Clarksville died Tuesday, July 5, 2005, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene, daughter of the late John and Willie Griffin West, widow of Robert E. Stewart, and was preceded in death by two sons, Randy Stewart and James Stewart.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Ruby and Jack Heil of Clarksville and Becky and Les Brown of Hunt; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Willis and Beckie Stewart of Clarksville and John and Sandra Stewart and Jack Stewart, all of Bay; 20 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 9, at Roller-Cox Chapel with Rev. Amos Pledger officiating. Burial was in Annie's Chapel cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Steven Brown, Donovan Stewart, Billy Heil, Jackie Heil, Bryan Seay, and Jerry England. Honorary pallbearer was Rex Smith.
Jay Clark Baskin
Jay Clark Baskin, 75, of Hartman died Thursday, July 7, 2005, at St. Edward Mercy Medical Center in Fort Smith.
He was a veteran of the Korean War, U. S. Air Force from 1950 to 1954, retired in 1989 after a 28-year career in heavy equipment with the Sully Miller Construction Company of Orange, Calif., and a lifetime member of the BPOE Elks Lodge No. 1475. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Effie Baskin; one sister, Rosie Epperson; and one brother, Will Arch Baskin.
He is survived by his wife of 49ba1Ú2ea years, Charlotte Epperson Baskin; one sister, Willa Johnson of Lakeside, Calif.; two nieces, Bev Schaffer of Lakeside, Calif., and Shirley Mills of Fayetteville; two nephews, Gary Johnson of Eureka Springs and Dan Epperson of Sebastopol, Calif.; one brother-in-law, Bill Epperson of San Diego, Calif.; and one sister-in-law, Jane Baskin of the Harmony Community.
Following cremation a memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, July 29, at the Harmony cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.

J. C. Smith
J. C. Smith, 66, of Ozark, brother of Hattie Sheppard and Louise Schmit, both of Hartman, died Saturday, July 2, 2005, at his home.
He was a native of Johnson County, son of the late George Owen and Gertrude Brown Smith, retired from the United States Air Force, veteran of the Vietnam War, member of the Coal Hill VFW, and former shop foreman with the Franklin County Road Department.
Other survivors include his wife, Shelba Smith; two sons, Robert Owen Smith and James Kevin Smith, both of Ozark; one brother, Walter (Smitty) Smith of Ozark; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 5, at Shaffer Funeral Home Chapel in Ozark with Rev. John Kindrix officiating. Burial was in Harmon cemetery at Ozark.
Larry D. Stroud
Larry Dale Stroud, 56, of Clarksville died Friday, July 8, 2005, at his home.
He was born August 15, 1948, in Wenatchee, Wash., to Rayburn and Oveta Hall Stroud. He graduated from Melbourne High School in Melbourne, Ark., and Arkansas State University in Jonesboro. He then served in the U. S. Army for two years during the Vietnam War before returning to work in Little Rock for the Arkansas State Revenue Office. After five years in Little Rock, he moved to Clarksville in 1978 to become the clinic administrator for Clarksville Medical Group where he worked for the past 27 years.
Larry devoted his life to Clarksville Medical Group. The doctors, nurses, employees and their families will remember his sacrifices and contributions, large and small, for the rest of their lives.
Larry was a member of First Presbyterian Church and was a regular attendee of the early service. He was also a longtime member of the Lone Pine Social Club and often held forth in defense of NASCAR and his favorite driver, Mark Martin.
Survivors include his wife of 24 years, Pee Wee Harkreader Stroud; one daughter, Holly Vinson of Batesville; two brothers, Kenneth Stroud of Batesville and Harold Stroud of Jonesboro; father-in-law, J. R. Harkreader; mother-in-law, Dorothy Harkreader; two grandsons, Garrett Yeager and Tanner Vinson; and one step-grandson, Hunter Vinson, all of Batesville.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rayburn and Oveta Hall Stroud; and one brother, Keith Stroud of Batesville.
The funeral was at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 12, at First Presbyterian Church in Clarksville. Interment was in Hartman cemetery under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
The pallbearers include Clint Bacchus, Kent Cecil, Don Cowell, Matt Fleetwood, Dr. Mike Hillis, Dr. Ben Jacobs, Jack Patterson II, and Jerry Wagoner.
Johnny Lee Sewell
Johnny Lee Sewell, 47, of Coal Hill died Thursday, July 7, 2005, in Little Rock.
He was born at Paris, son of the late Archie and Ina Mae Sullivan Sewell, and a stone cutter.
He is survived by three sisters, Jerry Hice, Donna Bradley and Linda Sue Hamilton, all of Paris; two brothers, Donald Sewell of Coal Hill and Arie Green of Clarksville; several nieces and nephews; and companion, Ruby Crow of Coal Hill.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 9, at Hardwicke Funeral Chapel with Rev. James Hice officiating. The body was cremated.
Donald Dennis Mee
Donald Dennis Mee, 51, of Benton, formerly of Johnson County, died Friday, July 8, 2005.
He was a native of Richmond, Calif., served in the U. S. Navy, and was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Mee; mother Doris Highfield; and sister, Melinda Mee.
Survivors include his father, Charles H. Mee and wife, Bessie, of Sherwood; and two brothers, Charles Michael Mee and wife, Connie Sue, of Lamar and Jeff Alan Mee and wife, Sandy, of Benton.
The family will have a private memorial at a later date.
Arrangements were under the direction of Ashby Funeral Home of Benton.
